Good For Beginners

This is a good book for someone just starting out. I like that JTR hit on mobility and recovery because those two things don’t typically get talked about as much as they should, especially the importance of getting enough sleep (something I am a huge proponent of because so many don’t get enough!).

The programs she provided are great starting points for someone that’s new to exercise or even for someone like me that lifts regularly. I could see myself doing the intermediate strength plan and using heavier weights. Sometimes even just bodyweight exercises can be great on days you want a less intense workout.

Overall, I think she did a nice job of making it a quick read while hitting the important topics and not drawing it out or getting too scientific so that it appeals to those she’s targeting: people new to exercise.

For beginners and seasoned gym bunnies - this book lays the foundations of great work and a healthy body that will see you through whatever you want to do with it.

Easy to read, effortlessly fun, filled with heart and knowledge, Joslyn does a fantastic job of breaking down decades of her skill and knowledge into easily understandable lessons. This is a book that teaches you about your body in a way that few before her have - it’s nothing trite. It’s real and honest and designed to get EVERYbody moving in a healthy, consistent way. No matter where you are starting from. Highly recommend.

Really well put together and engaging to read. Good length and not overwhelming for a newbie, but also interesting and motivating for someone who's already "into" exercise.
