Not good
This was two or maybe three plotlines mashed together to make one book. The progression was all wrong. The relationships were underdeveloped. The romance could have been so good, if sufficient time was given to it. And don't get me started on the so called threat.!

This is the third book in the series but it can be read as a stand-alone. Ace is heartbroken over the pain of losing his wife and son, but he has a daughter to raise. Savannah is on the run from her ex, trying to keep herself and her son safe. Sparks fly between the two and Ace knows she is in danger. Can he keep her safe and find love he wasn’t even looking for? Fast-paced emotional read with great characters and plenty of drama and suspense. I liked it.

Contemporary romance set in a small town as Ace and Savannah try to navigate through a baggage filled relationship.
Ace’s survival guilt after losing his wife and unborn son in a tragic accident had him shell shocked and closed. His only joy was his daughter Presley. Along with his steadfast friend Gavin, Ace was slowly working his way through his painful memories and loss.
Savannah’s history was full of secrets that were potentially dangerous to her and her son Taylor. Never feeling quite safe with her dangerous cheating ex thwarting her life and future, she pretended he didn’t exist in order to deal with her present.
I liked the way her bestie Sailor was there for her and was able to help her rebuild her life.
A slow paced start with Ace reluctant to start a relationship with anyone even as his attraction to Savannah and affection for her son grew.
Things got hot and heavy quickly once he rescued her from a blind date gone wrong as they spontaneously combust together once they were alone.
I hated the way he snuck out (without a word) in the morning after spending an amazing night with her and I almost stopped reading after reading his POV on him wondering why she was avoiding him. Duh.
This sweet romance was unevenly paced with a lot of hot and cold floundering moments.
A bit of drama when Savannah’s past comes pouring out along with some frustration with the passive aggressive way she tried to deal with it. Unbelievable boneheaded actions with Ace risking everything to free Savannah from harm and Savannah immediately pushing him away yet again.
Kudos to the author in tying the loose messy pieces at the end with a satisfying HEA for this healed couple.

This is about Ace, his daughter Presley, Savannah and her son Taylor. Ace and Savannah are both friends with Gavin and Sailor. Ace and Gavin were both in the military together and once he returned home, he needed to move away with his daughter Presley to start over and Gavin gave them both a home in his garage until he was able to make it on their own. Savannah and Sailor are best friends but Sailor is unaware of Savannah's past before moving back into her hometown. Presley and Taylor seem to enjoy their company and love each of their parents. Ace and Savannah don't seem to get along right away as they are both struggling with a background that keeps them alert to a possibility of getting hurt with new beginning.
Well now that they have both decided to get along and go on a date, Savannah's past comes in to throw a wrench into her plans. The good thing is that Ace is not giving up and making sure that she is taken care of. Ace is a true gentleman in this book and gives and takes appropriately. I love that they had an instant blessing at the end, but I missed the weddings for both couples.....

Ace is raising his daughter after losing his wife and unborn son in an accident. He would waste away if he weren't trying to give his daughter the best life possible.
Savannah is raising her young son while trying to run away and hide from her past. Her ex, currently in prison, is a secret she keeps from everyone including her best friend Sailor.
These two lost souls somehow are drawn together. Their histories keep trying to keep them apart. As a reader I was rooting for them to find each other and stay together. It is not an easy path for them. They do have a happily ever after for themselves and their kids.
Her Damaged Protector have characters that you can't help care about. Our leads are also wonderful parents who strive to put their kids above everything. The story is a heartwarming romance.

Her Damaged Protector is the third book in the Alpha Ever After series and is the story of Ace and Savannah. If you love your Alpha's to the hundredth degree times infinity then Ace if you man. This man is broken and barely holding it together. But when he moves back to his hometown he meets single mother Savannah and some things start slowly coming back together. She is broken and running, trying to keep hidden from something in her past. They have an intense chemistry even as they try to fight to keep away from each other. But when Savannah's past comes back Ace is ready to protect her and her son at all costs, even if she does not want it at times. Together they fill in the gaping wounds and help each other heal. Things are not all hearts and roses between them but eventually they figure it out as they fight for each other.
This is a well written and emotional rollercoaster of the story. The characters are nicely developed and the supporting characters are also good, especially the kids.

Ace is trying to rebuild his life and focusing on giving his daughter, Presley, a good life. After losing his wife and unborn son in an auto accident because of his own drunken father, He is at his lowest point. His good friend Gavin gives him a place to stay and work in his garage. Savannah is running from her past and from her drug dealer ex who is in prison. She and her son, Taylor have moved back home to make a new life. Taylor’s loves to watch Ace when he fixes cars and ask questions and Ace enjoys the boy . When Savannah goes on a blind date, only to be stood up, it’s Ace who ends up at the Last Call and rescues her. They have an attraction that is undeniable and spend the night together. Things get awkward after that. Then when her ex gets released from jail and finds her with a demand for money which she doesn’t have and Ace discovers what is happening, he moves her and Taylor to his apartment to protect her. An interesting storyline that seemed to drag at times, but overall an entertaining read. I liked the first two books in this series more.

The blurb pulls you in. It was an interesting plot so I had to finish it but...there was way too much inner dialogue by both main characters. And not only too much inner dialogue but also repetitive inner dialogue! The actual dialogue between characters in the book was probably less than 10%. Since I was invested in the story line I had to finish it but I skimmed through most of the book.
As far as the characters go I really didn't feel a connection between Ace and Savannah. It was like one minute they barely know each other and Ace is ignoring her to them living together and he's all about her. I am all about insta-lust romance when it is that type of a book but in a longer novel length book there should be more buildup. There were also several times I was confused during the dialogue with the friends...I wasn't sure who was talking to who.
I am not really sure I would read another book by this author. I did get invested in the story line but it was very frustrating to read the book.

Completely and utterly taken captive by this story! It was EVERYTHING!!! SO MUCH ALPHA! A Damaged protector and he will do anything to protect those he love. Ace recently lost his wife and is trying to be the best single dad to his daughter but of course he is struggling to maintain face in front of her and grieve the wife/mother she lost. He moves back to his hometown for a change where he meets single mom Savannah with her son and broken as well she is running from her ex after he is arrested and now in jail and the attraction and chemistry is instant yet neither of them are willing to make a move due to all the baggage they each carry however, when love bites trust it bites hard and it won’t let go until these two have decided to allow themselves to love again. Sometimes that is the only way to heal so can these two learn to love, will Ace protect her, can her love help fix some of the brokenness in Ace and can the two of these finally get a chance at love and happiness?

Her Damaged Protector by Kelli Walker is a sweet second chance romance for both of the protagonists. One is getting over his wife and unborn son being killed and having to raise his daughter on his own, while the other is raising her son while hiding from her ex. These two people, hurt beyond description, finally take a chance to mend not just their broken hearts, but their fractured families as well, and our male protagonist realizes he will do anything to protect his new family.
This story is all about the power of love, family, second chances, and redemption. If you believe in the opportunity to get a chance to restart your life after it ends, then this book is for you. I have read several books by MS. Walker, and I have to say, Her Damaged Protector is probably the most emotional of all of them. If you haven't read a book by Ms. Walker yet, strongly urge you to read Her Damaged Protector. You won't be disappointed

Ace and his daughter moved to where his best friend lived for a fresh start after losing his wife and unborn child in an accident. He was working as a mechanic in his friends garage when he met Savannah. Savannah came back to town to escape an ex but she isn't sure that she's completely safe from him. When Savannah tries to make nice with Ace he is standoffish and his friends even comment on it. So when she brings her car into the shop he tries to be more friendly towards her. Its not long at a bbq that they end up spending more time together including their kids. However when Savannah's ex shows up with some mean men after him will Ace be able to protect her and her son? Will they finally see that they are perfect for each other?
This is a great story that will have you on the edge of your seat. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

The tension is palpable between these two! But struck me was the two children in this story! I love those Littles! Savannah and Ace have been through tough goings and both have issues that they need to work out. On one hand; being lonely, it is apparent that they need each other, on the other emotions that they feel are contributive to how their relationship will go further. I felt that Ace did everything within his power to NOT feel the way that he did towards Savannah. Savannah knows she has secrets that need to come to light. I felt that she was feeling a bit battered by those emotions and she was shameful for them. All in all this was a great story. It will grip your heart with what these two have been through. This is one journey I am glad I got to take with this author!

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is a story of how Ace and Savannah were able to overcome trauma and hardship to find love and family again. Ace is now a widow with a young daughter. He is having a hard time dealing with his grief. Savannah is trying to escape a violent past and just wants peace with her son. These two have to fight some demons, real and mental to find a happy future. I though this was a well written love story. It will take you from one extreme to the other in emotions. The characters are great, including the children. I have read each book in the series and am not sure which is my favorite. I would recommend all of them, standalone or in order.

Ace isn’t ready for a relationship but there is something about Savannah that keeps drawing him back to her and the fact that their kids get along well also helps. When a fun night out leads to a steamy encounter, Savannah gives him the brush off as she has secrets that she does not want to reveal. But when Savannah’s ex comes back threatening her and shady guys starts asking questions about Savannah around the garage where Ace works, he is not leaving her to fight this battle on her own. Their relationship heats up as they spend more time together & when Ace does a big gesture for Savannah, she freaks out. Savannah knows she can’t keep letting ghosts from her past ruin her future and she will have to come clean to Ace so that they can move forward towards their HEA.

Reading Ace and Savannahs story was wow! I really enjoyed the truth grit of the story and reading of how they norh struggled with their pasts and confronting the issue.
Ace is an incredible man who feels he doesnt deserve the chance the have another in his life but he doesnt realise how similar he and savannah are and how good they are for each other
Savannah has apast that is coming back ro gaunt her and needs as much help as possible but feels she can deal with it on her own.
Ace is protective of those he loves and let in his life.
This was an incredible read that you seriously dnt want to miss out on.

Great second chance love story
I loved Savannah & Ace's will they won't they love story of two single parents each with a past they dont want to tell. Their best friends Gavin & Sailor are like family but they are surprised when they find out their secrets. Just as everything seems like there might be something special between them her past comes back to ruin it. When Ace thinks he has helped her she doesn't see it that way & it looks like they will not get a second chance of a happy ever for their family after all. I couldn't stop reading desperate for Savannah to realise they had something special & grab it.

I loved Savannah & Ace's will they won't they love story of two single parents each with a past they dont want to tell. Their best friends Gavin & Sailor are like family but they are surprised when they find out their secrets. Just as everything seems like there might be something special between them her past comes back to ruin it. When Ace thinks he has helped her she doesn't see it that way & it looks like they will not get a second chance of a happy ever for their family after all. I couldn't stop reading desperate for Savannah to realise they had something special & grab it.

Although the story could have been good, the book fell flat because of the pity party characters. Ace has lost his wife and unborn son through no fault of his own. But yet he blames himself so much, he can't pick up the pieces for his daughter. Instead, he is living in a garage taking on odd jobs from a friend. Savannah made bad choices regarding her son's drug dealing father. She is dealing with it by not discussing it. Throughout the story, they do nothing but continue to push each other away. Even when her past catches up to her, the suspense was lackluster. This book was okay to read once, but completely forgettable.

Savannah has an impossibly awful ex (cheater and drug runner) and a sweet little boy. Ace lost his wife and unborn son to an accident recently, plus has the little girl that is with him. Their best friends, Sailor and Gavin, and confidants are married to each other. The characters each have a lot of baggage but put their children ahead of everything else. Miscommunication and twists cause a lot of grief and anguish, but in the end they form a tight bond that will survive anything. Romance starts slow but kicks up a notch later.

Good book, great characters, and a wonderful story that proves that sometimes you find the person you need at a time when you are certain that your life is destined to be one where love is not in the cards.

Ace lost most of his family and was devastated. Savannah had a terrible time in her last relationship and she just wants to be with her little son. You'd be right in thinking that neither of them wants a relationship. Both are too afraid to try again. The problem is they have such a connection, so much electricity between them that staying apart might just be impossible. Then Savannah's past comes back and Ace has to decide whether he's in this for the long haul or not.

This book 3 in the Alpha Ever After Series is a well-written, second chance at love book with interesting characters that have a lot of chemistry and depth. It has sweetness and darkness rolled into one. The characters have some history and not all happy memories, but they did have some good memories of each other. It has no cheating and no cliffhangers. Story is mainly a quick and damaged alpha male-sassy girl story. Guaranteed HEA.

This is another great story from Kelly Walker. This series is awesome and every book reads a great story standalone that makes you want to read the others and this story is no different. It is romantic, steamy, has action and a little suspense, had to force myself to stop reading it so I could attend to my everyday mom/wife/work responsibilities.
