Mingle All the Way

Rate this book
Riley Mills sells love. Or, rather dangles it like mistletoe at Lovestruck, the world’s most popular social dating app. She’s got her sights set on improving the app for others, but she doesn’t date. Period. For a Christmas bonus though, she’ll help the event planning team with the annual Holiday Mix’n’Mingle—even if it means speed dating her ridiculously hot office nemesis.

Web developer Chase Campbell eats, breathes, and speaks code. With metadata that's all about romance and soul mates, maybe he’ll learn a thing or two about the love his parents shared. At the least, he’s got eight merry minutes at the company’s holiday event to decipher all the reasons maddeningly beautiful Riley Mills hates him.

So what if their chemistry is undeniable, Riley doesn’t believe in messy office romances. But back at work when their family-minded boss announces a holiday party to get to know his team better and rumors spark of a promotion, she tells a teensy, tiny, white lie—she and Chase are in a serious(-ly fake) relationship. No biggie. Once she gets the job, they’ll stage a breakup… Except, silly love notes and sweet smiles turn to clock-out kisses and Secret Santa trysts. As the cold nights heat up, they begin to wonder if they were ever pretending.

As an employee for the Lovestruck dating app, Riley is itching for a promotion where she can utilize her knowledge and introduce safety features for its users. As a novella, I loved that this still managed to sneak in important topics surrounding the dating world.

With her boss known to promote those grounded by a relationship, Riley, in a moment of desperation, claims Chase Campbell as her boyfriend. As a fellow employee of Lovestruck, a sexy fake-dating, workplace romance ensues between the two.

Originally viewed as a player by Riley, I loved the loathing towards Chase turn into a unavoidable attraction. Progressing into a shared love for the same holiday favourites, the banter between them was a lot of fun! On a search for his own meaning of love, Chase was the absolute sweetest hero to convince Riley their relationship is worth fighting for. I really enjoyed this one!

I by chance spotted this Christmas book “Mingle all the Way” by Mia Heintzelman when looking through my posts. I was immediately intrigued by the holiday cover and title and thus made sure I read this novella. I am so glad I did because this is not only a beautiful holiday treat but a book that hits home with many about online dating and it’s inherent dangers.

We enter the world of an online dating company called Lovestruck. There we meet Riley and Chase. Riley is a beautiful, intelligent women who is focused on her work and is very intent on making sure she establishes safeguards so that Lovestruck is not a place that can be a danger for its clients. She also has stepped forward to her boss Spencer for a better position in the company which has been a goal she has set for herself.

Now all things can’t go easy and Riley is told by her competition Jessica that Spencer usually chooses people who have families, mortgages and well Riley is single. Thus begins the lie that will turn her life upside down. She tells Spencer she has had a relationship with her coworker Chase for close to 4 years. Unbeknownst to Chase his life is about to change as well.

Chase has always liked Riley and she has not shown interest because he is exceptionally handsome and has a “fan club” at the office. As mentioned earlier she is also very focused on her career and making a difference with setting up security protocols for clients. She now has to tell Chase about the lie and prays he will play along. Chase does not even blink an eye and thus begins the fake relationship or is it?

Verdict;

Ms Heintzelman has written a lovely novella that not only shows us the possibilities of finding love but she takes on a not often enough talked about subject and that is online dating and it’s dangers. This is a very big issue that some may not take seriously but it can lead to rape and possibly death. I also loved how she changed character perspective and you were able to connect with the thoughts and emotions of Riley and Chase throughout the book. I highly recommend this book and give this 4.5/5 stars.

This is such a fun and sexy story! The chemistry between Riley and Chase is sizzling - I was rooting for them the whole way through. Loved the workplace setting, and all the cute Christmassy things the characters got up to when they're not at the office. And Chase is SO swoonworthy! Love a sweet ginger hottie. This is a must-read to get you in the sexy Christmas spirit!

The minute Mia told the world about her Christmas novella, I knew that I must get myself a copy and read it. As always, she never disappoints! Aside from the beautiful cover, this book is beyond delightful. It has that flirty and sexy vibe with adorable and driven characters. Riley and Chase all the way! I love the characters’ chemistry, and the storyline will make an excellent hallmark movie!

Mingle All The Way is a fun Christmas novella by Mia Heintzelman that has office romance and fake dating rolled into one, and it’s a perfect mix! Meet Riley, who is really keen for a chance at a company promotion. Chase is one of the IT guys, and has always held Riley with high regard. A chance speed-dating encounter sees Riley’s demeanour thaw slightly towards Chase and we see the potential ... just a glimmer, of what these two could be like together.
Keen for a chance at a new opening at Lovestruck, the dating app company Riley and Chase both work for, Riley tells her boss she’s in a relationship with Chase, which he totally goes for! Cue romantic moments and hidden smiles, fake relationship storyline’s are so much fun, and I love reading as the lines started to blur from fake to real.
This was my first book by Mia Heintzelman, and I enjoyed the office romance/fake relationship, the secondary characters, with Jessica in particular adding a hint of drama.
The author discusses the negative side of online dating, meeting dates for the first time and the danger that can occur. This was done within the storyline, and it was an aspect that was well-written, and I thank the author for highlighting this in her work of fiction.

Recommended to readers of romance, I enjoyed Mingle All The Way and look forward to next reading Married and Bright.

Thank you for the early copy I received of this novella. My review is late in coming in! This is an honest review and all opinions are my own.

ℝ𝕖𝕧𝕚𝕖𝕨 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mingle All the Way by Mia Heintzelman

Riley works for a dating app, but she isn't dating. She has her sights on improving the security features of their app, and a promotion would really help. After learning that her boss usually promotes family-minded candidates, she and her office nemesis embarks on the fake dating journey of their lives. Chase Campbell doesn't really know why the stunning Riley gives him icy glares all the time, but as their fake relationship gets more and more personal, real feelings get in the way. Were they actually ever pretending?

This book was exactly what I needed and I have to thank @Mia for gifting me a copy! Her next book is definitely on my Christmas TBR. One of my favourite moment was when they were the last people in the office, and Chase realized how threatening the situation can be for her; When he felt the power shift, he immediately made sure Riley was comfortable and gave her an out. I loved how Mia tackled safety in dating, and how important it is to not only trust your gut instincts but making sure to take reasonable precautions as well.

4.5 stars of holiday goodness!

Mingle All the Way is a sexy and sweet BW/WM holiday romance, and it is exactly what I needed right now!

Finding love in a fake relationship while working at a dating app agency? Um, yes please.

Riley is aiming for a promotion at work, one that she rightly deserves. Her goal is to make dating on these apps more secure and safe for everyone. And though she is in the business of helping others find love, she doesn't date.

Chase works in the IT department, and though he has always respected and been in awe of Riley, he doesn't understand why she is so cold to him.

Something I really liked about this book is how intuitive Chase is - the way he recognized moments that could seem threatening to a single female and took a step back. You don't come across that too often.

One little white lie to the boss, and these two are in a fake relationship that doesn't feel so fake to either one of them. What follows is a series of melt the heart moments that had me rooting for these two.

This one had it all for me - engaging and easy to relate to MCs, holiday cheer, laughter, and, most importantly, love. A definite feel good holiday read!

Chase and Riley!
What a duo 🤣🤣🤣

This story started on slow, but from the second chapter, I couldn't drop it. Had to finish up in one sitting.

What happened?
You'll find out in when you read 😉

Overall, the story structure and plot was great. The conflict was pretty tight, with Jessica, what a spiteful drama queen, making it all spicy.
A real feel good Christmas Romance story.

Great work Mia!

Going on to read Married and Bright.

Holiday romance? Check.
Fake dating? Check.
Unique characters? Check.

This was my first time reading anything by this author, despite having several of her books on my Kindle. I’m happy to say that I will absolutely be reading more of her books in the future.

Mingle All the Way is a holiday romance novella. It contains a workplace fake relationship that quickly becomes way too real for Riley and Chase.

I adored the chemistry and rapport between the two main characters. They were just adorable and quirky together, but there was just enough hesitation on Riley’s part to make it a believable relationship. I adored how Chase fell quickly and the ways he went about proving his feelings to Riley.

I also loved Nina, Riley’s friend and Keira, Riley’s sister. I felt these two added to the story and made it even more enjoyable.

This novella gave me all the fuzzy Christmas feels and definitely has me in the holiday spirit. This is a perfect quick read for a snowy night spent wrapped up in a cozy blanket and sipping hot cocoa!

This was a cute quick, holiday romance read. I wanted something light-hearted for the holidays after reading two other heavy content related books. This fit the bill. It reminded me of The Wedding Day except this was more about an office affair with a holiday twist. Riley got on my nerves with her debilitating over Chase but I guess her conscious was weighing on her. All in all this was fun read. Humor, romance, love, sex all tied up in a Christmas bow!

I received an e-book of this novella in exchange for an honest review. So so good! This is such a fun quick read Christmas romance. I love Riley’s character and Chase is just perfect. Even though this is a novella, there’s a great story line, good character development, and lots of emotions packed into the pages. A great Christmas read!

Office romance but with a twist of a fake relationship. Can these two that work for a dating app, learn about each other during a speed dating event fall in love?? Yep, the chemistry is flying off the charts with these two when they let it happen. His is a super cute, fun, steamy Holiday romance read!

This is a great novella as well, the flow was good even with a slow start. Enjoyed the characters as well.

Overall, 4 stars and 3 steam

This was my last Christmas read of 2020, and what a book it was. I won an ARC as part of a giveaway that Mia Heintzelman was hosting on her Instagram page, which I was proper chuffed about. Who doesn’t love a book related giveaway??

We’re introduced to Riley, our sassy and straight talking heroine, as she helps out at a speed dating event that is being hosted by the company that she works for. Having found out that they’re short on numbers for the actual event, Riley agrees to take part, unbeknownst to her that her work colleague (and adorable hottie may I add) Chase has also been asked to take part.

Now these pair... woah momma... whenever they’re together it seems as if the chemistry literally sparks between them. Riley thinks that Chase is just another good looking bloke out for a good time, when in actual fact he’s the complete opposite. I loved the fact that the author created a hero who was so considerate and aware of the heroines feelings, wanting to make her feel as comfortable and safe as possible in his company. Add to the fact that he sounds like an absolute hottie and ding ding ding, you’ve hit the fictional hero jackpot.

As well as the romance aspect, I loved how the author focused on the important and relevant subject of sexual assault, as well as the safety precautions around online dating. At a time when Tinder seems the most popular way to meet someone, this book highlighted the possible dangers and the importance of men and women considering their safety in such situations.

With the right amount of heat, humour and romance, this is definitely up there as one of my top Christmas reads. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author.

Read it in one night

I started this book with every intention of just reading the first few pages or so just to proverbially dip my toe in the water. I ended up finishing it in one sitting.
Crisp writing, breezy dialogue, humorous without trying too hard, just the right amount of holiday love sappy, and a nemesis you don't like but empathize with juuuust a little (well, most would; I didn't. Couldn't stand her). Can't really ask for much more than that.

This was the first book I've read from this author but certainly won't be the last.

I glance over at her and there’s apprehension and questions in her eyes I’m not sure I can answer. How did we get here? Are we really doing this thing? Is any of it real? I want to tell her I’ve been here all along waiting for her to notice me, that I take the long way around to my desk just to see her eyes, and how beautiful I think she is no matter how she wears her hair or which black suit she chooses.

I’m not going to lie, I read this a few days ago, and knew that I was behind on writing reviews, I totally forgot that I read this novella. It was fast paced, sweet at times, and overall an alright novella. 3 stars.
