The universe knows this, so imagine my surprise when I wind up as one.
I took one night off from busting my ass at my photography business to go have fun for the first time in months… and now, here I am… the cliché who got knocked up by the player from a one night stand.
Awesome.
Now, after telling Tyler we shouldn’t exchange numbers and just keep it as a one-time thing, I have to go tell him.
Luckily I know where to find him, but how in hell am I supposed to tell him, the guy who “doesn’t do relationships”, that he has over-achieving sperm and he’s going to be a dad?
One way to find out…
Tyler
Annie wasn’t someone I figured I’d ever see again.
She always stuck in my mind because she’s the only woman who never fell for my well-practiced bullsh*t lines.
When she walks into the bar where I work, the crazy attraction still sizzles between us, and while I always imagined a night spent together would be insanely hot, I never imagined it would wind up being the best night of my life.
When she refuses to exchange numbers - something I’d normally consider a favor - for some reason, this time it leaves me… gutted.
I’m beyond surprised when she marches back into my life a couple of months later, madder than a wet hornet because I knocked her up.
But the biggest surprise of all is that I’m not scared. I’m excited. I want this baby… and I want Annie.
But how can I, a former player, convince her that I’m serious about this, about her, about us? Annie’s it for me and I know it, now I just need her to be willing to give me a chance, to Picture Us… together.
DNF. Story starts out with Hero & heroine having already had sex & heroine learning she is pregnant. Then next chapter is with Hero & one of his OW and what great sex he had with OW.

*I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review *
This book does NOT contain OW drama, as one of the most liked reviews indicates it does. That reviewer understandably misunderstood a flashback scene but has left up their review after being made aware of this. IMO its pretty unfair to the author and other potential readers to leave up a misleading review, especially with a small indie author. I just hope that others won’t be put off reading this because I really enjoyed it!
To be clear: The hero was a playboy (as made super clear in the description) but is not with any other women after he is with the heroine, nor are there any romantic/sexual scenes with OW. From the second he and h encounter each other and hook up he is only with her.
More detailed info in the spoiler tag if you want to be sure it’s safe for you!
On to the actual review: This was good! I love the surprise pregnancy trope, so that goes a long way to enjoying this. But Tyler and Annie were so sweet together and had great chemistry. I loved seeing how Tyler changed from a playboy to boyfriend material as her pregnancy progressed. My favourite part was definitely early in the book where they were getting to know each other and telling their friends/families.
Once they got into a steady relationship there were a few too many mundane everyday scenes and it started to drag as there was no real conflict. If you're looking for a drama-filled surprise pregnancy book, this isn't it. However if you just want to read about a surprise pregnancy where the couple work it out and are in a pretty stable, happy relationship then you'll probably like this.
This is a accidental pregnancy romance. From the instant the book grabbed me and I loved how different the two characters were in life but one night changed it all. Tyler always saw something different in Annie from the moment he laid eyes on her but because he didn’t want to commit he kept being the player he was until he had to prove to the only woman he wanted in his life that he was the real deal. There were sweet, funny and steamy moments in the book that kept me wanting more. They both had fears that were valid but it was beautiful watching both walls fall for them and how natural they fell into a routine like they had been together for years.
There was always a constant pull for one another and you feel it while you’re reading it. This was my first book of Natalie Parker’s and I look forward to more.
Picture Us by Natalie Parker 5 ⭐️ Voluntarily read an ARC for my honest opinion!
Picture Us is such a feel good romance, no angst and barely any drama.
After spending an incredible night together Annie falls pregnant unexpectedly. Tyler is such a playboy that Annie fears he won’t step up and become the supportive rock she’ll need.
But, Tyler proved everyone wrong (YASSS GO TYLER).
“SWOON” 🥵 Tyler is my book boyfriend, he is so caring and beyond attentive, sexy and downright dirty at times (please and yes thank you)!
I am slightly jealous Annie gets him, but they’re so perfect for each other, you can definitely feel their chemistry on the pages.
If you love -
⭐️ Easy Romance ⭐️ No Angst, minimum drama ⭐️ Unexpected Pregnancy ⭐️ Hot, Player and attentive hero ⭐️ Funny, Sassy and beautiful heroine ⭐️ HEA
THEN THIS READ IS FOR YOU! Don’t wait any longer, get it ASAP.
This can be read as a stand-alone, but I definitely recommend checking out (See Her & Still Her)
Contrary to the 1 star review that almost kept me from reading the book, the Hero absolutely does not have any relationships with OW between the time he is with the heroine and the time she goes back to talk to him.
The person who wrote the one star review apparently can’t follow flashbacks! So, don’t let that keep you from this book.
Obviously, not a book I would recommend to my book club, but I like the trope and I liked the book.
This is the third book in Natalie Parker's "Turn it Up" series and the third book by this author that I've had the pleasure of reading.
Spoilerish....
What I appreciated most was that Tyler, a self proclaimed playboy was always upfront about his expectations with women. He wasn't looking for a relationship, just a good time. Sure there were still some broken hearts but he was honest from the get go.
And then he met Annie... he knew she wasn't like any other girl he'd ever known. And Annie although definitely interested knew what Tyler was about. Life happened and they didn't see each other again for three years.
And then they met again and as fate would have it they ended up hanging out.
They went out, had a great time, had amazing sex, and both felt things they knew they shouldn't, or in Tyler's case didn't understand and that was it. Until Annie ended up pregnant.
Tyler, the self proclaimed playboy fell in love (It took him a minute to realize that) and more importantly he wanted to step up and do right by his unborn child and Annie. It took Annie a lot longer to accept the fact that Tyler was in it for the long run, that he wouldn't go back to his old ways. She was protecting her own heart. But she needed to open it a little and give Tyler a chance....
It was such a sweet journey from friends, to lovers, to parents. Not my typical read but I trusted that this book like the first two wouldn't disappoint. And it didn't. Tyler stepped up, he was true to his word. He was committed even before Annie. He wasn't even with another woman.. he could've been (pregnancy doesn't equal committed relationship). Sweet and sexy, it was easy to give this 5 stars!
I must admit when I first read that this was going to be the next book in the series I was a little disappointed, I love Jack and Maizie and want so much more of their stories. Tyler and Annie were just in the background for me in the first 2 books, but holy cow I seriously loved this book. Tyler is seriously giving Jack a run for his money in the romance department. This is a must read, reformed manwhore, surprise pregnancy, and serious love between these 2. Can’t wait for more in this series, fantastic stories. I received an arc for my honest review.
While I loved Mayzie and Jack, my heart holds a special place for Tyler and Annie. Annie is Mayzies best friend. Tyler is Jack's buddy from The Cedar.
After one amazing night when Annie lets her guard down with Tyler, she finds out that she's pregnant. Tyler is so absolutely sweet and wants to be part of both her and the baby's life. Annie is hesitant cause of Tyler's past.
Overall I give this book 5 stars because it was just that good!!! I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Annie meets Tyler while he is working as a bartender with Jack (book 1 before Jack's band gets famous). They both have an instant connection and chemistry but Tyler doesn't settle down and Annie doesn't do one and dones. So while their chemistry is undeniable Annie doesn't take that next step no matter how much Tyler asks. Three years later they run into each other again, this time, they can't stay away from each other. They agree to one night but that one night leaves a lasting impression on them both and Annie finds herself knocked up by the guy who doesn't want to commit.
This is another super sweet book by this author. I love how this all played out. Annie didn't try to hide her pregnancy or keep it a secret from Tyler - she made it a point that he had the be first to know because it always gets out. LOVED that aspect of the story. This story was sugary sweet and endearing - I loved how Tyler didn't have one ounce of fear and he stepped up. I just can't get over how sugary sweet these two are. The author did such a great job of conveying and portraying their feelings for each other. I felt everything they felt. Adored this book and I cannot wait to see what this author has next for us. Really hoping for a brother's best friend book . . . wink wink.
This is the first book I've read by Natalie. It's the third book in the series and it works extremely well as a standalone. I highly recommend this book. It was hot, it had amazing chemistry and I gave you all the sweet feels.
Annie has been working non-stop, she's in dire need of a night out and a quick lay her friend convinces her to go out and have a good time. What could possibly go wrong? Tyler is a manager where Annie and her friends go and everything stops when he sees her. She's the one that didn't take his flirting seriously and she definitely didn't want to just sleep with him. She wants and deserves more. Tyler and she reconnect after years of not seeing each other and he convinces her to go out with him when her friends leave. All it took was one seriously steamy night and possibly fate to turn their world off its axis. Can Tyler prove he's changed and wants to stick around?
Natalie Parker has a way of drawing you into her fiction. Her stories are beautifully woven, carefully crafted, and true to life. Tyler and Annie are GOALS! I was rooting for them from page one.
With life, all paths are not black and white. There will be twist and turns, and speed bumps along the way. Annie and Tyler are no exception, the road they take is not straight forward, and they do hit a rough patch or two. but the ride is HELLA WORTH IT!!!
Not your typical surprise baby story! Annie is such a fun character, and Tyler, wow, he will surprise you with how simply amazing he turns out to be. Completely un-put-downable! Loved every second.
This was such a sweet, romantic & hot book. Tyler gives up his bachelor life to become an amazing guy to Annie. The sex scenes rocked & the relationship becomes real, real fast! Great read!!
Picture Us is a fantastic addition to the Turn It Up Series by Natalie Parker. After meeting Annie and Tyler earlier in the series it was wonderful to see them get their own story and watch their relationship blossom. I love the ease of Natalie’s writing style, it was easy to pick up the book and not want to put it down.
For those of you that rely on reviews... PLEASE DON’T FALL FOR ANY NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. Take a chance and see for yourself what the author has to share. I truly enjoyed Picture Us, as I have enjoyed reading See Her, and Still Her. This darling book has an amazing mixture of sweet love, comedy, and hot steamy moments that are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Although Annie was skeptical, Tyler never gave up on proving how much he adored her. That’s about all I’ll share because I’m not the “spoiler alert” type. Beautifully written, nice flow, and narrated from the point of view of both Tyler and Annie, which for me is a bonus. As a published author myself, I understand the hard work and time it takes to write, edit, and publish a book. You pour your heart and soul into your work, and hope that everyone who reads it, loves the story just as much as you do. While reviews are a great way to determine if a book is a good fit, it’s also important to formulate your own opinion to avoid possibly missing out on a good read. Thank you Natalie for another awesome book! Looking forward to the next one!
Sometimes romance doesn't come easy and the relationship even harder. Annie and Tyler are not looking for a relationship but fate has a different plan for them. It takes a while for them to give in to their feelings but when they do WOW - fireworks. This book is a heartwarming romance with so many wonderful moments. It's great to see the transition and growth in both characters and the end...have the tissue box close by. It had all the warm feelings and sweetness that a wonderful romance should have. This is a different storyline in the series since it veers away from the rock band but it shine's it's own bright light.
Oh my god! I was really hoping that Tyler and Annie would get their own book, and this did NOT disappoint! This was ridiculously hot and the salsa scenes were epic! Tyler is possibly even more aborbs than Jack!
I’m sorry but 2.75 stars; I’ll round it up to 3 though. Overall, this just didn’t do it for me. The characters were good, and so was the main story focus, but the writing style, grammatical errors, pacing, and nearly nonexistent plot really kind of tanked it for me. I got to about 60% before I kind of checked out and stayed thoroughly bored for the remainder of the story, but I was pretty entertained the first half. There was just very little plot beyond the whole pregnancy thing. The pregnancy trope is a guilty pleasure of mine, but a single trope alone can’t make the story good for me. It was sweet and spicy, but I guess it’s just not what I wanted for the moment.
If you want a book that’s a palate cleanser, that you can just shut your brain off and read, this might be a good one for you. It’s not really a bad book, it’s just not for me.
Ugh, Natalie, what are you doing to me?!?!? I had SUCH a book hangover after this one, and I think Tyler might be my favourite of all your characters. Watching him and Annie spark off each other was fun. Watching them develop and grow together as people turned the dial up past maximum to dangerously hot! Loved every moment.
Tyler made my heart swoon hard. This man with his willingness to open up for the right woman was just extremely sweet. I loved Annie and that she gave Tyler no room for his playboy ways. There was as much laughter as love in this perfectly balanced book!
I was pleasantly surprised by Tyler. He reformed his bad boy ways for Annie. It doesn't even take long into the novel to see just how much crazy he is about her. It was also nice for Jack and Mayzie to guest appear some too.
Absolutely loved this book. Hooked from the beginning loved the characters their emotions and their fears made me fall in love with them. I want more of Annie and Tyler.
A picture perfect surprise pregnancy romance. Some genuine laugh out loud funny moments. Loved it, devoured it in two days. Annie is who I want to be when I grow up.
Fans of the Turn it Up series will love this story of Annie and Tyler. @natalie.parker.author style of breaking the "forth wall" brings you into their world. And this one is seriously LOL funny!
Tyler has convinced the world that he is NOT the relationship type. Until he meets Annie. Not falling for his charms and obviously lines, she intrigues him until she disappears from the bar and his life for 3 years. Then one night she strolls back into the bar and turns his life inside out.
Annie has to learn to trust his feelings and commitment, and Tyler has to prove that she is the one worth committing to.
One night of uninhibited fun changed everything... It was supposed to be a night to let the stress of her busy life go and enjoy the company of a man she thought she'd never have to see again. But the pregnancy test in her hand says otherwise. Now she must hunt down the man who doesn't do forever's and tell him they are about to be parents. Surely this isn't going to end well... or will it?
Between the pages of this novel lies the story of woman who wanted to be carefree and little reckless for one night, to throw caution to the wind. And she did, in the arms of a man that has never given love or relationships a second thought, a man that is a self-proclaimed player. As much as she knew hooking up with Tyler was a bad idea, she went and did it anyway. And now they will be tied together forever, a fact that leaves her more than a little unsettled. But when she marches into Tyler's bar and tells him that he left her with more than a satisfied smile on her face she is left surprised by his response. For a man that doesn't do commitments or forever's, he seems to be taking the news quite well, and that is something she was not expecting.
He wants a chance to be a father, help her raise the baby, and maybe more if she is willing... but can she really trust him? He has a past that leads her to think he can't be serious about his commitment to her and the baby. The only way to know if his intentions are real is to give him a shot to prove himself, but is it a chance she is willing to take?
Picture Us is a heartfelt story of second chances, embracing unknowns, and finding forever. It's words will steal your attention from the first page, and it's characters will have you rooting for them the whole way through! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
