Shh ... do you want to know our secret?

THE VIRTUES

Becoming virtuous demands a sinful price.

Our role at Briarcliff has a deeper consequence than the nightly rituals and cloaked costumes the Nobles are so fond of.

We’re barely visible, peripheral shadows who hold the deadliest keys.

And we’re done being a secret society’s dirty little secret.

A note to Callie Ryan, Briarcliff’s most scandalous To maintain our power, our history must stay hidden. Do not, under any circumstances, uncover it and put it in the hands of Chase Stone, no matter how much his handsome, heartbreaking face begs you to trust him.

Or else, you won't like it if we're angry.

OMG! THIS BOOK!!!! Honestly I don't think my heart can take the stress LOL. HOLY CRAP, reading Virtue has basically made me a consumed but jittery and nervous hot mess. This book is amazing and I swear the twists and turns will have you screaming (or terrified like me where you put your kindle down for 10 mins to take deep breaths because you are freaked TF out!) Gah!!! The twists and turns are crazy!!! I seriously love Callie sooo much! This book is intense and compelling and will have you wondering WTH is going on. Chase is just as incredible but I would be lying if I didn't say the secrets and the back and forth and hot/cold behavior wasn't getting to me. Lordt.now onto book 3! 4 stars! ~Ratula

TWISTED CRAZY PERFECTION!
I thought book was a wild wicked phenomenal ride and boy oh boy was I ever wrong. Virtue is so much better and way more Intense with twists upon head turning twists  that keep me guessing and desperately hooked and glued to my kindle as the angst filled drama and excitement brings on a swarm of emotions that grab hold of you and shock delight and shriek with explosive eff bombs from one gasping explosive page to the next. Ketley just didn't bring it she shoved the words down my throat and has me pleading to feed me more.

These books straight up gave me trust issues. One minute everything was fine and going toward the plan and then BAM! You get hit from the side and get taken out by something you never expected. The twists and turns in these books always kept me on my toes. You don’t know who is on what side, you never know who will randomly show up in the plot, and you never really know if someone really is who they are they are. The mystery throughout each of these books are what kept me so hooked. Not going to lie when I first started this book I didn’t think I was going to like the FMC, Callie, but over time she showed how strong and badass she was. There were times where I felt like she gave in too easily or forgave too easily but this girl went through a lot and she still keeps fighting. The MMC, Chase, is your classic arrogant, jerk, but the more you get to know him you see the reasons for his actions and you see his true heart slowly come through even though he still makes decisions that are slightly questionable. Overall I enjoyed these books and I can’t wait until the fourth one comes out because that ending wrecked me! These books will always keep you in suspense giving so many questions after each chapter. Worth the read!

Before I begin my review for Virtue (Briacliff Secret Society book two) by Ketley Allison, I would personally like to thank the author, the publishers and Booksprout for the opportunity to read this ARC and I have reviewed it honestly.

SPOILER ALERT!
This review contains minor spoilers for those who have yet to read Rival (Briacliff Secret Society book one).

Briacliff Academy returns with a blast of new secrets, new mysteries, more hate and more Chase! Join Callie as the murder mystery continues, the mean girls are prowling, the secrets are building and the romance is steaming.

Virtue features, but is not limited to, the following themes:
○ NA romance
○ Bully romance
○ Enemies to lovers
○ Murder mystery
○ Boarding school
○ Secret societies
○ Lies

My overall rating for Virtue is…

4.5 Stars!

This book was tortuous! Ohhh I love it when a book digs daggers in your gut and your screaming internally for the injustice and unfairness of the tale! And Allison does it so unreasonably well! I absolutely love Allisons' ability to capture a readers soul with her words. I'm dying to get me hands on book 3!

So this is the second book in the Briarcliff series and i didn't think the story could get more twisted than it already was! More secrets come to light, we have more crazy situations and definitely more angst between Chase and Callie. I just don't know who Callie can trust anymore, i feel like everyone is out to get her, and that everyone has secrets they are trying to protect!
This series is more than just a Bully Romanace....so much more!! I literally couldn't put it down from start to finish!
Ketley that cliff hanger was cruel.... i don't know how i am going to wait for the next instalment....so excited!

If you are a fan of Bully Romance, with some dark & disturbing storylines, full of twists, secrets and betrayal then you need to read this series!!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the second book in the Briarcliff Secret Society series. Our super sleuth student Callie continues to try and solve the mystery of the murder of her rather nasty room mate and the existence of various secret societies at school. This is such a gripping, fast-paced read, with so many double-faced characters that you really don’t know who to trust anymore. Will Callie find out the truth?

Was glued to my screen for a day until this book finished with a big splash. Cannot wait for the third book in this series!

A big thank you to the author for the ARC! This review reflects my honest opinion.

Content Warnings: sexual content, toxic relationships, toxic friendships, bullying, sexual harassment, and institutional corruption.
Mention of: infidelity, faculty-student relationship, pregnancy, death of a parent

Definitely binged this in one sitting hoping to get more answers...which technically I did...but I still feel like we're getting them at a snails pace 😅 granted I have adhd so I need answers immediately and hate waiting...so it's probably just a me thing. 😒

Also still confused about whether this is a high school or college...because she turns 19, never mentions being held back or starting school late, but she still has another year or so before she graduates...

Very entertaining

Told only is Callie's POV. It is a little longer than the first but one of the best books in the series.

Murders to Solve, Hot Boyfriends to Keep Sated, And , Nefarious Secret Societies to Uncover

In “ VIRTUE” ( Briarcliffe Book 2 )

Callie is still searching for clues about the secret societies, the “ Nobles “ ( the boys )

And.
The “Virtues” ( the girls )

Both their own, shall we say, checkered history of doing questionable things around campus.

While both of these groups past behaviour is kept shush, shush, Callie is determined to uncover their secret (mis) deeds over the years.

In particular, the possibility that they may have had something to do with Pipers demise.

As she slowly uncovers more clues, it appears that Callie may have been focusing her attention in the wrong direction.

Once again she places herself into some hair raising situation in her efforts to uncover the truth.

Her tenacity ? Some might say OBSESSION ! In getting to the truth, also places her relationship with Chase ( a Noble ) in trouble on more than one occasion.

By the end of this book, Callie has her answers, and THEN SOME!

As the week before Thanksgiving rolls in at Briarcliffe University, Callie has to deal with fractured friendships and more.

Questions that she has been asking and wondering about relating to the nefarious Nobles, and Virtues are answered, but she also opens a can of worms about her OWN family history that she probably wishes she hadn’t.

Where to after all this?

Well.

She gets her answer written in a single white rose tied with a black ribbon.

This second book proved to be just as “ un-put-down-able” as the first.

Callie seems to bounce from one precarious situation to another.

She is a paranoid MESS not sure if she has the guys from the Nobles on her backside, or the more rampant Virtues.

One thing is for certain, if she finds herself in a bad situation, nine times outta ten, you can bet Chase will show up.

This guy has a knack for finding our female lead no matter where she is.

And.

Usually these liaisons end in SEX!
HOT, DIRTY SEX!

Case in point.

The school party Chase throws at his families Lake House.

( Yeah. If the author has introduced a school party, well we KNOW what coming
bullying and sex )

We find our heroine Callie wondering the halls in this cavernous home, ending in Mr Stones office, only to have Chase show up knowing exactly where to find her.

Same with the whole unfortunate incident in the chem, lab.

Leading men always know where to find their Leading Ladies.
Like they have a tracking device or something.

Especially, when the end result is usually..Sex.

And nothing turns Calle on more than Chases manly smell.

“That irresistible scent of his, salty, cedar male, drifts its ethereal allure in my direction.”

When Chase and her aren’t hooking up, fighting then, well.…F ing

Callie has a tendency for constantly wanders the campus ground trying to solve crime and mystery while struck in her own head.

So much so, that she tends to lose focus and daydream ending up walking into people

( Chase )

Or.

Into areas on campus where she ends up in Trouble.

As this book draws to a close, it appears that things have been resolved.

Callie has stepmom and Dad happy

Her and Chase seem to be back on again.

And the murderer has been arrested, awaiting charges.

Callie has decided to stay at Briarcliffe despite being offered on “ out” to come home from Stepdad awaiting the birth of her new sister.

Why?
Why did she decide to stay ?

Because things have reached their resolution, and she would miss her bestie Ivy.
Her TRUE friend
( still think there is something suss with this girl )

AND!

More importantly!

She would miss Chase’s “ D “ and all that Hot SEX!

Yep.
Things are looking good for Callie..

Until they are not anymore. 😈

Cue book three

Wow…Virtue is shocking from beginning to the cliffhanger ending! Virtue is book 2 in the Briarcliff Secret Society Series and it is a great addition to the series. It might even surpass Book 1, Rival! As with most series, the start of the series is setting the ground work and by book 2 you are definitely hooked and wanting more. Briarcliff Secret Society Series is no exception as Virtue blows you away and readers will be clamoring for book 3, Fiend. I loved all of the secrets and revelations that are revealed and how new ones keep popping up where you least expect it to. As you may have guessed already, Virtue is full of twist, turns, and things going sideways where you don’t see them coming. Add that to the heat and all the emotions in Virtue reader are definitely going to want more as much as I do. I highly recommend Virtue and can’t wait for Fiend. Callie and Chase are characters that are very easy to empathize with and you want them to figure stuff out and find a HEA but then Chase will do something that questions if he is the hero of the story or the anti hero. What they do have is chemistry and so much heat between them but is that enough? Can’t wait to find out. I am very throughly hooked on the Briarcliff Secret Society Series and I hope you will be too. This is my first time reading a Ketley Allison book and it won’t be the last. Ketley most assuredly knows how to engage readers and keep them engaged from the beginning to the end. Virtue is definitely worth the read.
Helpful suggestion:
Tip 1, readers will want to read Rival before reading Virtue
Tip 2, readers will want to devour this book in one sitting with no interruptions.
Happy reading!!

OMG!!!
I've literally stopped breathing and as soon as I finished reading virtue, my hand was at my mouth. I couldn't believe what i just read! i gasped out so loud my sister looked at me as if i grew 2 heads (they don't read so they wouldn't know lol ;))
My gosh!!! Seriously, I don't know what to say other than this book will keep you awake all night and you will physically have to fight with yourself to go sleep!
I finally know what true love is and that is this series book! lol.
I love Callie and Chase and just when you think the twists and turns and the kicks in your guts are over, your wrong!!!! This book will not disappoint you!
It will take you on a turmoil of emotions and the roller coaster will not stop! And ill tell you now, its so worth it!
Its also very cool how Ketley was able to come up with such interesting and action packed story line like this one where you have secret societies; Nobles and Virtues and then you have the tragic events and snippets of Callies past like her mother and then that big tornado reveal at the end where Callie and Piper and Addysion are.......sisters?????????
Its just so cool and also i wont forget how it ended!!! We all know how scared Callie is of the lake....right?!!

Defo recommend you read RIGHT NOW!! And enjoy!

👣👣ONE CLIFF JUMPING THRILL👣👣
Hatching hellions! Ketley dialed my number, rang my bell and knocked me over with this incredibly tantalizing debacle, weaving a cocoon so intricately and precise luring you deeper into this tangled web, keeping you riveted and frozen to your seat, propelling this jewel to a whole new level. Shenanigans and serendipity descend in a flurry of mayhem and mishaps, blurred perimeters and dissolved barriers, restrictions are amplified and tested, observing the separate struggles and electrifying triumphs, noting the dramatic twists and stunning turns, bursting this baby to life brilliantly. Add the captivating drama, riveting intrigue, disarming truths, unfolding secrets, swirling suspense and intense situations you have one mind-blowing adventure, fusing this gem together flawlessly. The characters are complex, genuine and realistic with traits and qualities that balance and blend, with amazing depth and diversity with enough spice to add an extra kick to the mix. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Remarkable job Ketley, thanks for sharing this awesome little gem with us.

Good Book

I am loving the back story of the secret societies and all the murder and intrigue behind the scenes and I really want to know why Callie hasn’t asked Lynda about the Nobles & Virtues now she knows she went to BU??
Also I couldn’t give 5 stars because of Callie and her weakness for Chase.
When Callie is away from Chase she is a strong character who knows what she wants and goes after it but sadly when it comes to Chase she becomes a pathetic wimp who whimpers and practically salivates over him, now if he hadn’t hurt and betrayed her then yeah I get the appeal.
However he is repeatedly lying to her allowing her to get beaten up and sided with Virtues accusing her of vandalism and she still acts that pathetically around him… sorry but any strong woman wouldn’t let him repeatedly hurt her and then keep falling in to his arms.
He says he cares about her and is protecting her but I have yet to see that he knowingly betrayed her about the chem lab and she still pathetically threw herself at him when he was in her room looking for Emma.
If she wasn’t so pathetic around him I would have given 5 stars as the actual back story is so interesting and has me gripped to see who is doing what etc.

Wow, just wow. I thought this book series couldn’t get any crazier, but it just seems to get more and more insane as I read. If you enjoy Pretty Little Liars or Gossip Girl, this book series is like those two series had a very VERY dysfunctional and psychotic baby. The mystery surrounding the academy and its members is just getting juicier and juicier and as time wears on, I am getting more and more confused, but in a good way. (If that is possible?)

We receive more information about the secret societies and their history; however, once something is discovered, I feel like more and more secrets are revealed leaving me with more questions than I started out with. No one can call this series, dull, that is FOR SURE! The characters in this series are starting to grow on me more over time, but the main characters are a little frustrating in my opinion. Callie can be kind of thick headed at times and is quick to anger which can hurt more than help her situation. I also think that Chase is not worth it sometimes, no matter how good the sex is.....

I cannot wait for the next installment because the bomb that they dropped at the end of this one was CRAZY!!!

Well we get some answers that’s for sure still we’re left with a crap ton more questions!! Gaaww the suspense is doin my head in!! That’s the point I’m sure of it well Ms. Allison you sure now how to make me keep swiping pages! Chase and his affection for our beloved heroine Cala Lilly aka Callie is the sweet spot that we need in all this mystery and debauchery. But is he the Hero or is he the puppet master behind the scenes?? I don’t know but my Disney movie loving heart WANTS him to be and to rescue and love our Callie cuz she deserves it!
Some bridges are mended and Ivy is the best BFF still.
“You give everyone else such a free pass in life but wrap your own in chains.” Love Ivy she’s Team Callie all the time!!

Cliffhangers suck we all know this and hopefully hopefully the next book isn’t too far off cuz I NEED more and I’d love love love some point of view from Chase! Great follow up book very enjoyable read!!

Holy moly how am I ever going to wait for book three? That cliffhanger just left me shook. Dirty business Ketley!
Oh Callie Callie CALLIE! Girl, what have you got yourself into? I am sitting here like telling her where to go and she just can’t help herself. She’s so mixed up in things she has no idea how deep this goes... and Ivy is not as innocent as she seems .. something is up with her.. Emma got her sites on something and she’s sneaky .. Eden,I am just not sure where she stands.. LAWD have mercy and get me book three cause I need some answers.. I’m all twisted and upside down.. is my underwear on backwards? Cause I feel so inside out right now.
Where is all this going ? How will this end? Goodness if Chase doesn’t get his head out of his ass I am going have to show up and knock some sense into him cause he’s so far up his own butt he doesn’t even realize he’s the king of nothing!
All I can say is if you ain’t reading this you are missing out!! Get in here so we can talk! January can’t get here fast enough ..

Virtue is the 2nd book in Ketley's Briarcliff Secret Society Series. It starts up right were Rival ends.

More secrets are revealed and more questions are answered. Callie is more determined then ever to get her answers. Nothing Chase does will convince her to let it rest. He tries to keep her out of it but she does everything in her power to solve this story!

Virtue will take you on a roller coaster ride of surprises. There are twist and turns you wont see coming and they will literally leave your jaw on the floor.

The cliffhanger at the end will shock the hell out of you. I didnt see it coming.

I tried to wait for this whole series to be out before I dived in...but I couldn't! Its one that will have you up all night because you don't want to put it down. I cant wait for the 3rd book!!!!

Virtue is a fabulous second book, even better than the first volume. I was hooked right from the start. Ketley Allison sure knows how to captivate her audience; her storyline is fascinating and complex. She's weaved a gripping, unpredictable, and twisty tale; filled with mystery, secrets, deception, drama, angst, and so much more. I loved it! The characters are phenomenally developed, intriguing, and highly appealing. Callie is incredible, strong-minded, and a total badass. Chas is still an arrogant and proud hottie with questionable actions and motives.

Addison Barnes is a talented and versatile narrator; she breathed life into the words and the characters. I could easily imagine the scenes and everyone in it. Overall, Virtue is a fantastic listen, an exciting and wild rollercoaster ride. I'm definitely recommending this audiobook.

I rated this one less star from the first book because there were a ton of errors in this one- spacing where multiple words were squished together, and even more inconsistencies where things happen more than once, or something happens that completely contradicts what previously happened. This made it annoying because I would have to go back and reread (find the inconsistency) to make sure I wasn’t making things up or going crazy.

I thought it was…weird?… confusing?… how they kept being called seniors, but also freshmen and first years? But it’s also a university? I know she turns 19 in October-ish, which is old for a senior to begin with, but I really don’t get the back and forth of calling them different years.

I was also hoping Callie would sort of learn some lessons and grow a little character-wise in this book. Nope. Still ridiculous.

2.5 ★★★

My rating from the previous book to this one hadn't changed.

I found some inconsistency in the story... it was a bit confusing.
I found Callie more annoying in this one. She was truly too warped in her own head, relentlessly pursuing the Noble and Virtues (her determination was very admirable, though) without thinking of the repercussions. Many times I wanted to hurl my phone at the wall because I. was. so. damn. frustrated! They solved one problem, there were more arose, and more question to be asked. Not to mention it felt like what they had done was futile, they were outsmarted again and again and again. There was also a lot of questionable loyalty, this book caused me a headache.

-Dive into book 3, let's see how this one goes.-

Following Rival, the first book in this series that I thought couldn't get any better, comes Virtue. The twists and turns of this story's plot are enough to keep you on your toes and second guess on who Callie should trust. You have to give her credit though, no matter what she goes through during her days at Briarcliff, she refuses to give up until she gets the answers she wants. This book, just like the first ends on a cliff hanger so anyone who is wanting to read this series I would make sure you have the next book ready at your disposal because you will be DYING to know what happens next. I am starting the 3rd book in this series today. I know without a doubt I will have a review for that one within the next 24 hours as I can't seem to put these books down!!

Honestly this whole book was a hot mess.

The plot? Where is it?
The characters? Yikes.
The intelligence? Can’t find it for any of the characters anywhere at any time.

The twist at the end, I’ll give the author that - for once I actually didn’t see it coming. However, the whole book felt like the most soapy soap opera level show with no flow, no cohesion and like they just whipped as much ridiculous things they could together to call it twists.

Also for the LOVE OF GOD PLEASE GIVE ANOTHER POV. Calla is impossible to root for because she makes the worst, most stupid decisions you possibly can every step of the way. She literally follows a secret society group into a hidden passageway. ALONE. Absolutely ridiculous.

This book picks up where the first one stops, and it blew my mind!
So much happens and there are so many twists and turns and so much of "now you trust me, now you don't".
My stress levels were high all during the read and I just couldn't put it down.
And the cliffhanger? Bad, Ketley, really bad of you! I cursed out loud when I finished reading the book.
I can't wait for the 3rd one to find out what more is waiting for Callie and Chase, as well as all the other students in the Briarcliff Academy...
Get to typing, Ketley! Book 3 is required ASAP!!!

5 mind blown stars

This may be the first book I’ve read that I appreciated all the little details as much as I did. It felt more like watching a movie than reading a book. The story of secret societies and hidden passages has been told before but the way this author tells it makes it feel like the first time. 5 genuine mind blown stars for the authenticity of these characters and their back stories. They feel like friends and foes despite never having met them. I felt the anxiety and anger, the hurt and heartbreak right along with them. Well done and I am not so patiently waiting for the final book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book 2 picks up rather seamlessly from where book 1 left off, at Piper's memorial service and there are still questions about her death. Relationships between Callie and the "elite" students at Briarcliff Academy are still strained and abusive towards her. Callie gets a surprising new roommate The relationship between Callie and Chase it's still uneven, up and down, hot and cold. Is he trying to protect her or himself. There's a ton of twists and turns, and so many more questions than answers. The next book cant come soon enough!!

Agh. This book. This series is gonna be the death of me. I swear. Lol. While more questions are answered we are left with some pretty big ones. I’m so excited to see how this all turns out. We got more of some of the supporting characters back stories which I loved. Callie is more determined than in the previous book to get answers about the society’s. I have no idea where this is going or who done what and I’m not even mad about it. A good book leaves you wanting more and I’m glad I get to stay with these characters and learn what happened and what will happen to come. And I felt we seen some growth and more inside into Chase and Callie.
