The first book in a new series of mystery/thrillers, and also a continuation of The Reacher Experiment and The Reacher Code series!
Jake Ruger is not his real name.
He doesn’t remember his real name. Or anything else about himself.
But he does remember a few things. Like cars. And airplanes. And smartphones.
Which don’t seem to exist anymore.
Which is impossible.
The world he appears to be trapped in—a world both astonishingly beautiful and horrifically hostile, situated in and around the town of Total Wreck, Arizona in 1882—must be part of an elaborate reenactment project.
That’s what he thinks.
Until the bullets start flying…
Drifter is approximately 17,000 words, about 75 pages.
Rock Wahlman has been transported back in time . Later part 1880's in Arizona. At first he thinks it's all staged. Then people start to die. One hanged and two murdered. The town Sheriff and a young girl who hired him to be a ranch hand.He also killed one person in self defence. He has taking on a new persona and name. It's slowly starting to dawn on him. This is not a dream.... Book one in this series. Enjoyed immensely!!
The story starts out ok, but when Anna gets her throat slit? Come on now, what’s the motive? This was1882 and people were better than 2102! Ok, as one can tell I started writing before I finished reading, now I know what happened. I don’t like killing so that caused my start. The book makes sense after all. Ok Rock Wahlman I. Now Jake Ruger. 5
The story wss okay, nothing as elaborate. Reason for two stars was i felt cheated. Although a small amount the idea of paying for a very very short story was distasteful. I will never buy another book by this writer.
Another spin another Reacher/Wahlman/Drifter good guy episode but sadly a rather short one. Much as I enjoyed it, it promised a long run but fell suddenly short.
I gave this book 5 stars because it was excellent reading, very easy to stay up all night to finish I would highly recommended this book Drifter:Stranded in the old west book 1 to anyone.
