Learn a lot from this about the weather. Dont consider this as textbook/reference book that explains the weather process. It is a "light" book with colorful picture and facts.

Reflections and lessons learned:
“Don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows...”

Oh but we really do… I enjoy this simple thing that we can’t control (I think...) but can still completely change the mood of any day - heat, cold, clouds, sunshine, extremes - how utterly brilliant, and this covers some of the basics. A short read considering the breadth of the topic, learning helped with multiple photos and diagrams to illustrate and explain. I’m looking forward to the 2022 computer introduction and so that’s when records began!

I did learn some things that were really fascinating and I enjoyed it, but it was overall a little too simple for my taste.

I guess some buying it will not be into weather, or scientists, but at least give those of us reading it that are, the option of delving deeper.

There were also some pictures that weren't explained well enough - the freaky flood sinkhole picture for example. What was I looking at there?

A well-presented book on the complexity and weirdness of the great British weather. Loved the breakdown of how the words we use to describe certain weather conditions came to be.
