Stupid and awful. There was no realistic encounters between the two MCs especially not any development of love. Gah I want my wasted time back.

Had some grammar errors but I can overloook that
The Hero in the book kinda did a 180 in the end and it threw me off alil with how he reacted to the heroines news for him.

Fast-paced dark mafia read with loads of drama, suspense and steam. Great characters with intense chemistry, lots of emotion. I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it!

Robyn was at the lowest point of her life, disbarred as a doctor for operating under the influence of drugs, broke, and swimming in debt. She had nowhere to turn until a sudden phone call late at night changed her life forever. It was in response to a job that she applied for earlier that morning. It was perfect for her, and she was invited to come for an interview an hour later. Ax was a large, formidable man. He demanded a lot from his future employee but was prepared to pay well as a result. She knew it would be stupid to refuse. She was to be his personal assistant, on-call twenty-four hours a day, obey his every command and refer to him as Sir. Of course, Robyn agreed that she never had a choice and signed a contract for ten years of service. I found this book an interesting and compelling read. Robyn was used to being in charge and was not backward in commenting on Ax's unprofessional behavior. Ax was not used to having his actions questioned but enjoyed taunting her with his demands. He had been attracted to her from the start but needed to know if she was up to the challenge of working for a mafia man. This book is violent, and at times gruesome. Every challenge Ax confronted her with she endured and overcame. It became a deadly game between them with chemistry that was undeniable. This is a book that will surprise and enchant you until the very end!

Completely and utterly taken captive by this story! It was EVERYTHING!!! SO MUCH ALPHA! Do you ever pick up a book knowing exactly what you’re going to read? You think, “This is going to be a (enter qualifiers here)” and then you start reading and realize you were one hundred percent, right? The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with!

There were parts where I laughed, I screamed, I cheered, and possibly flipped through every emotion possible. It was an absolute wild ride from the beginning to the end. Robyn was a doc. Banned from the medical world, all the years wasted in school to become a doc. ruined and in so much debt her life was on a downward spiral and she really had no way out. Ax the Mafia boss offered her a job doing whatever needed when he needed it including warming a bath towel for him while he was in the shower but what he didn’t take into account was how strong Robyn really was as he didn’t have the ability to feel (or so we thought), he was manipulative and trick her into serving him for ten years and there is no regard to right, wrong and he went into this with the mind set of toying with his new toy and never making a connections but oh boy was he wrong because his Robyn was stronger and more of a Mafia queen then he gave her credit for and she proved him wrong at every turn so did she turn him enough to have feeling and boy he ending I expected and didn’t expect it at the same time so will these two find HEA?

Some things I liked and some not so much
I have read and enjoyed a number of books by Bella King. With The Captive Contract I had a harder time getting into the story. Sure there were some interesting, dark and sexy parts. I mean Ax is a dark, complicated and somewhat bloodthirsty mafia boss....but he is still handsome, built, sexy and has that oh so difficult to resist dangerous vibe to him. Robyn on the other hand acts much more helpless and is a complete wreck, both emotionally and financially. Thus while Robyn is vulnerable Ax swoops in and takes advantage in more ways than one.
For me by the end I was really sitting on the fence not sure if I liked or hated this story. So after sitting with it for a few days I decided that there were some things that I liked and some things that I did not....so down the middle is my rating for this book.

This was really disappointing.
I didn’t click download for this reason, but if you’re here for the “secret baby”— it’s hardly a plot device. And has 0 conflict whatsoever.
This book spent way too long on their 1 month together, which they spent apart.
I give props to the author for the gore-y scenes, they were graphic.
The Hero was incredibly unrealistic, and does a complete 180 after the heroine asks (@ around 80%) abt his future with a wife and kids etc. and it wasn’t even romantic. And not justified; what made him soften up?!?!?!
The ending was poorly executed and honestly, should’ve happened sooner (based off what was revealed in the blurb). It relied way to much on the epilogue to wrap things up.
ALSO???? We don’t even get to see their first “I love you”‘s???????
What kind of romance was this?!? I feel like it’s so incomplete, where are the important chapters??

Robyn’s character and backstory wasn’t very complimentary as her depression and hopelessness was quite a downer.
Banned from the medical community, her career ruined, and bogged down by immense debt, Robyn was barely existing when she started working for Mafia boss Ax.
Ax’s cold bloodthirsty and murderous personality was over the top awful. Devoid of feelings, a manipulative user with seemingly limitless power with no regard to right, wrong, or loyalty, Ax steam rolled into Robyn’s life with no concern for her.
While well written and satisfying as a Mafia read, I didn’t like the way Robyn was just another piece of property he toyed with. I never really felt the connection between them and it was a stretch in the way he turned around at the end professing his love.

Action packed with lots of suspense and betrayal that comes from an unexpected source. Good story line and characters with depth and development. Robyn needs a job to get out from under the mountains of debt she finds herself in, she is an emotional mess and out of desperation she makes a deal and signs a contract with the devil, mafia boss Ax. From the beginning they clash, he regards her as property and wants her obedience while she digs her heels in and wants and need her independence and freedom. I loved how strong Robyn was and even though Ax manipulated her and owns her for ten years, she still turns his life upside down and pretty soon he can't imagine life without her. It took me a while to like both characters but they do grow on you and you end up liking them and rooting for them.

The book was okay. Ax is a ruthless leader of mafia who hires Robyn as his new PA. One bad surgery made Robyn leave the surgeon career. Big amounts of debts leads her to the job as Ax’s assistant.
The storyline of the book was good, for me the second half of the book was a little bit rushed. But after all I enjoyed it.
I just couldn’t connect with the the character of Robyn, Ax treated her really harshly, but she didn’t to anything to leave the job, because it paid good money. Nearing the end of the book, I started to connect with her, but it wasn’t enough for me to like her as a character.
Ax is a typical alpha-male, who stops at nothing when it comes to get what he wants. He’s brutal, savage, mafia-leader.
The book was packed with so much action and suspense that I really like.
If you like dark, mafia romances with alpha-male hero and a lot of action, it’s a book right for you.

Robyn is in desperate need for a job. After losing her medical license she is facing a mountain of debt. Ax is a powerful and ruthless man. He needs a new PA after his was "terminated ". Ruth thinks she has found the perfect job but after reading the contract and signing in blood she realized she might have made a deal with the Devil.
Good Read. The characters were well defined. The story was good but I didn't see how they fell in love. They didn't spend enough time together to develop a relationship.

Thoroughly enjoyed this dar read. I, love dark mafia romance lately and this is right up at the top of my list. The story is about Ax and Robyn. Ax is a cold blooded, murderer, mafia boss who decides he can’t live without Robyn and pursues her mercilessly. He only cares about getting her, not the cost to her or her feelings. Both characters were intense and had sizzling chemistry. This is a page turner and one you can’t put down. I found the story quite captivating and I read non-stop til I was done at the wee hours.

A captivating fast pace dark read! An extremely entertaining, interesting, and engaging page turner that will draw you in from the first page and hold you captivated until the end! It is well written, emotionally deep, and compelling with suspense, drama, danger, secrets, steam, and twists and turns. The characters you will root for, they are strong, sassy, and amazing; the chemistry between them is explosive. A recommended read!

I love a good mafia romance were the guy is rough around the edges. Ax was very much like that in this story. Older mafia king trying to hide his feelings behind a wall of indifference. Robyn was a mess, not even sure she comprehend the risks she took on when she signed his contract. But as the right began to uncover the truth to the missing shipments and runners, there relationship grew, even though both of them hadn't realised it.

Bella King keeps out doing herself. Robyn's life is falling apart and she does not see an end in sight. Ax needs a good assistant, and Robyn needs a job. It should be a match made in heaven, but it does have a rocky start. This book has twists and turns an backstabbing. This was a quick read, but a great one.

There is nothing like a deep dark mafia story. This story will keep you intrigues and reading till the very end. There is dark drama, twists and turns, action, and passion. The characters are head strong, feisty, gritty and keep you in the story with them. Ax's is a cold murderous bloodthirsty mafia boss. This is another super interesting mafia romance. I love the older mafia don slowly falling in love and trying to be so indifferent to Robyn. Two very good and complex characters and with the added suspense and intrigue, make for a very good read. Passion personified with these two. I recommend this and all of Bella’s other books.

Oh what a contract, a deal with the devil! What was Robyn thinking when she signed on for years with the most dangerous man? They’re characters clashes but in a exciting way. I love mafia romances! I enjoyed reading this book. Ax is your typical mob boss who loves the power he has. It was great to see how Robyn changed his life little by little. King made the chemistry between the two a natural connection.

I enjoyed Ax & Robin's book. It was an intriguing read. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
