Betrayal!

My goodness, what a hard read. This installment is full of the heaviest violence and torture.
All in the name of ‘love’ and ‘submission’. There are sick minds who use their power over the ones who are forced to obey.

With Luca now at the head of the family he shows his hard hand, orders submission, and loyalty.

Peter’s obsession over Emilio is sick and when he finally gets his hands on him. Shiver.

Emilio is indoctrinated from every angle by everyone who possessed him. He’s been through the most horrible treatment, isolated, drowning, raped, brainwashed. His body betrayals him, he doesn’t know who his master is anymore.

It’s all about communication with bodily needs. Submission, domination, forced medication, hurt, so much hurt, with as goal surrendering, not just but wholeheartedly.
The story showed through Luca, Emilio, Peter, and Allesandro’s eyes.

The author did a great piece of work, consistent and convincing. My jaws hurt from grinding my teeth. The whole story I sat on the edge of my chair and felt a constant tension.
Marvelous done!

Like I started this review I’ll end it... A hard read! Can’t wait for the next installment!!

OH!MY!GOD! WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST READ😭😭

I finished reading this book days ago, but I still can't get over it. Knocked me out.

I'm crying just thinking about the story. I-I-...I can't think straight.

The first two book ended on a killer cliffhanger, but this, THIS is the worst cliffhanger in the book of worst cliffhangers EVER! I need the next book like I need my next breath.

The book is mostly about Luca. In the first half he tried to be Il Padrone with more or less success. It was both sad and good. I missed Alessandro but I was curious how Luca would go with his plan and what will happen. In the second half Luca was like an angel who fallen from haeven - it was sad, and without spoiler it's really hard to say what happend with him.

It was heartbreaking to read the second half. It was like waiting for the worst but hoping for the best. I read it with my hand before my eyes. I wanted to know but I didn't wanted to know too.

Lio's scenes were hard to read. There were times when I wanted to be that scenario to happen, and there were times when I didn't know what to hope for. It was really, really heartbreaking to read his chapters, because he was drugged - but the author wrote it so well!

Alessandro *sigh*. I don't know what to say. His and Luca's relationship is so unique and so hurtful. I still can't think about them without crying. What Luca did was wrong and he knew that when Alessandro will wake up, his future wouldn't be so sparkling.

But. I still have hope. I need the next book and I need to know how bad I have to cry over this story.

The story was just as amazing as the first two, I enjoyed reading it.

The book is perfect, when it gives you emotions. When you can't forget the characters and their story. When you just NEED to know.
This book is perfect. Because it gave me all that.

4,5 star only because the middle of the story and some of Lio's chapters were boring.

Reading this series is like watching a mafia soap opera - where all the characters are visious, murderous sadists, and you never know what ridiculous plot twist or betrayal is next. Murder and torture abound. Lots of uncomfortable sounding sex and quite a few personality changes. But buy George, I will know how they maintain so much murder and betrayal and wind up with any characters left alive by book 8.

4.5 stars - If you have made it this far, you are committed to seeing this to the end. It has been a crazy ride so far, and this installment is no different. This picks up right where the previous book left off with Luca trying to cement his plan of taking over. He is finding it more difficult than he thought having everyone accept his position as Il Padrone and things quickly get out of control.

Poor Lio is now in the hands of Peter who is another level of psycho, along with his brother Daniel (aka Jack). Peter was bff with Lio’s brother Cliff, who originally gave Lio to Allesandro. Nothing turns out to be what it seems with any of these people or their motives, but Lio is front and center in all of it. Everyone wants him for one reason or another.

There are power struggles going on all around on different levels between the characters in Allesandro’s “family” and also between the various families. Peter is using all the stops (torture, drugs, etc.) to gain Lio’s undying love and to erase Allesandro from his psyche. Once Allesandro is back in play, there is a lot to clean up and deal with, and if anyone can do it, it will be him.

Loyalties are tested and counterstrikes planned. This ends on another cliffy, which was expected, and as with the previous installments, leaves you longing for the next fix. This whole series has been an edge of your seat page turner, and even with the dark content, evokes many emotions. Heed the warnings, but if you can get past the pain, you’ll enjoy an exciting and interesting ride. I can’t wait to see how this all plays out.

One psychopath in a story might be intriguing. Two might be interesting. But when everyone is completely crazy? Boring. I know that these people are hardened and borderline soulless, but this book was just too ... extra, I guess? I had a hard time caring about any of the characters. Violence for the sake of violence in a story is just lazy writing in my opinion. There wasn't enough story to balance out the wackadoo in this book, and I quickly began to lose interest. I'm not sure that I will continue this series, but I will admit that there was just enough intrigue at the end of the book to keep me mildly interested in continuing. I'll give it a rest for a bit and see if I change my mind. For now, this book gets two stars. It was okay. Barely okay.

This is the type of darkness I wanted when I first started this series. It was dark and such a turn from the tone of the first two books that I loved it. Please be aware of the warnings. This book is not for the faint of heart. At all.

My heart was in my throat as Lio's situation went from bad to worse and I wanted nothing more than to take him away from everything horrible.

Because of the events of Book 2, Allesandro can't rescue his baby Lio from his current situation and I was seething. I knew from the beginning that something like this was going to happen and I wanted nothing more than to beat the betrayer unconscious and feed him to piranhas.

The author made me yell and scream at some points because we got to be in the bad guy's head and I was not having a good time. I appreciate knowing what makes a person tick but OMG. When you want nothing more than to stab the character who's head you're in, you know that it's brilliant.

Leigh Kenzie has some exceptional writing here as there are multiple POVs, there are multiple storylines and they all come together in a cliffhanger ending to end all cliffhangers. Book 4 isn't far off and thank God for that because I need to know what happens next. It was such a shock and I am terrified about what's to come from the next revelation.

If you read the blurb and the warnings and have read the first two books in the series, you know that Tradimento is dark, probably darker than the other two. So, you've been warned.

We had 5 major players in this installment and one surprising addition:

Emilio: At this point, I really have no clue how Emilio is going to get past everything he's gone through first with Allesandro and then with Peter. I feel sorry for him, but frankly, it's a little difficult to connect to him.

Luca: I didn't know how to feel about what he did to Allesandro in book 2, but after reading his reasons and seeing how it was that he became Allesandro's boy and second in command, well, I couldn't do anything but feel for him.

Allesandro: He seemed less like a monster than in the previous books, but I'm still not sure how to feel about him.

Peter: Ugh, I mentioned in my review for book 2, that the devil you know (Allesandro) might be better than the one you don't know, and that rang so true with Peter. He was a psychopath and he was obsessed with Emilio and he had a very bad temper when things didn't go his way. I really have no clue how to feel after that last chapter or to what lengths he'd be willing to go to get his revenge.

Jack/Daniel: He was a psychopath, too, but a nicer one, if that's even possible? I don't know, I just felt more connected to him and Luca in this book than I felt with any of the other characters. I honestly feel that if it hadn't been for Jack, Peter might have killed Emilio at some point in one of his rage outbursts.

Keegan: He seemed nice, kind, but I'm sure he's ruthless as well. I'm intrigued by him and how he acted toward Emilio.

There were some intriguing twists and turns in the end. I really can't wait to find out if my suspicions are right about the mole in Allesandro's organization. And again, I'm intrigued over how Keegan's presence will play out in the great scheme of things.

While I had to skim through some parts that were way too dark for me, I'm determined to continue, mostly because I need to know how everything is going to end.

I was really hesitant to start this - not for the reasons you think - I was stressing worrying about how the previous events were going to play out - Just to clarify this is the third release in a series and it is NOT a standalone

I am slightly calmer after an extremely tense journey and lots of "OMG No flipping way" moments. I'm scared now that our sweet Lio will not come out of this journey with his mind completely intact. Well, as intact as he was previous to Lucas's betrayal.

If I thought chit got twisted in book two it's nothing to how much three reminds me of a house of horrors.
And the newcomer?
The takeovers (attempted or actual)?
Real or blanks? I just can't see him doing that and not the first incident the second.
I'm sensing a revelation that is going to make everything that has happened so far seem like sunshine on a spring day.
Yes, I think it will be that bad.
I do wish we had a bit more on Jack - I felt that area needed more closure

Hang on Lio, listen to the voice, just a little bit longer
Luca, I get it now - doesn't make it right but I understand
Peter, you just need help! I think Jack was saner than you and that's saying something
Alessandro bet you're asking yourself if you're still in a coma or if this chaotic nightmare that your world has become is real
And our deadly newcomer -
Why are you being so protective, kind? Who is he to you?
Who are you?

Until we meet again

Went and checked to see if luca lived bcuz the thought of maybe the gun not being loaded occured to me and voila the aithor has surprised me for the better. Proud of you author for not killing off the best character in your series like authors often do. You have ensured i keep reading this dark roller coaster of a book till luca lives. Congratulations for surprising me pleasantly. A beauty to read that first page of book 4 after absolutely falling in love with Luca. Must suck to be Allesandro and not be able to openly love this gem of a man who has suffered at the hands of everyone who was supposed to be his family since he was a child. Alessandro can redeem himself when he finally starts treasuring luca like the gem he is.
Nevermind after reading book 7 and skimming through book 8 halfway author ruined the series by treating luca like trash i liked keegan and marcus but even they are trash in book 7. Luca is the best character in the series and he will be better off killing himself than having to deal with rats like the book characters. This book makes top 10 of most pathetic loser lead characters ever. Luca saved it but by book 7 its too pathetic for even luca to save it

Good heavens, I'm not sure I have a nerve cell left that hasn't been shredded by what happens in this book. The previous two books were dark, but this is ebony black. What Emilio endures is almost unbearable to know about and Alessandro and Luca are still circling each other like black holes trying to absorb every bit of light. I need the next book right now.

Oh my...lord!

Let’s be clear here. There is no happy ending. There are no winners in this book. This was a brutal, brutal book from start to finish. And it was fabulous.

This series has grown and taken on a life of its own. It’s has created these characters that you love to hate but are oh so invested in.

Lio is the biggest victim in this book. Between the power grab Luca is making and the Boy that Padrone made him into he really has no way to be his own person. Luca is BRTUAL with him. It really is hard to read at times yet impossible to put down. Padrone is out of commission for half the book and when he comes back into the picture and learns of Luca’s betrayal? Well, all bets are off.

Peter, who is obsessed with Lio, is so incredibly unhinged. Absolutely maniacal. The lengths he went to to get his hands on Lio is incredible.

We are left with so many unanswered questions at the end of this book and it will be incredibly hard to wait for the next installment. But it will be oh so worth it. Leigh Kenzie is building a world where the only people to root for are the bad guys who happen to be a little less bad than the other bad guys. She pulls you in and darn near makes you a criminal yourself as you hope for the death of certain characters. If her characters speak to the readers this loudly, I can only imagine how loud they are in her head for their story to be told.

100% excellent addition to the series. I cannot recommended it highly enough.

Jaw dropping and spectacular with so much intrigue and destruction plus a good dose of betrayal, im still in shock of that ending. Alessandro is still being kept in his comatose state and his empire starts to fall around him and under the new boss. Lio goes through the ringer and is manipulated by an obsessive Peter with devastating consequences. Luca is so desperate for Il padrone to love him that be commits the most vile of sins and betrays the family with an agonising conclusion and you are in suspense with what fate awaits him. Where there is power, there will always be greed and envy, but pride comes before the fall and you hope they go out in style. There is so much I want to say but without spoiling it, almost impossible. Antonio is acting jittery and I am really excited to see the reason why as I am coming up empty, with so many twist and turns, surprises and betrayals it is impossible to know just whose side people have hung their allegiance to. A new man is introduced, promising to be a big player but has a mysterious vibe to him im unsure of. You really feel for the emotional turmoil that Lio has suffered and hold out hope that he can reunite with his true master. An epic tale of vengeance, greed and intrigue that will have you searching for answers long after that warped and heavy conclusion.

Amazingly twisted series.

If you want dark and twisted, with amazing well written characters you’ll love to hate, dive in. I adore Ms. Kenzie’s way with words.

My end of year re read and my favourite dark mm with the Vendetta series. This only re-establishes my love for this author’s craft. Mafia/BDSM/Slave/Serial Killer, pick a trigger, they’re all interwoven within the world of Vendetta.

“I’ve played with the demons inside me and enjoyed it. I’m not going to cower from them again.” - Lio.

Despite everything he’s put through, his belief in the Martelli’s and life with them, Lio has no plans in returning to the frightened mouse he once was.

I’d happily steal Lio away if Ignacio would allow it. The cast of characters are believable, and truly depraved in many cases. While Alessandro’s twisted love for Lio should have protected his Boy, jealousy drives everyone around him, while he remains incapacitated — leaving Lio open to torture and abuse.

“If all monsters keep libraries like this, it’s no wonder beauty fell for the beast.” This little gem, in the midst of two psycopaths, lost in the a nightmare of captivity, is such a typical Lio thought.

Check the content warnings. This is an actual dark read. No fluffy bunnies or unicorns here.

So this book starts right where we left off in the last book. Again, we get another POV, but I don't want to possible spoil the story be saying who it is. However, the blurb doesn't really does this book justice. It felt more like Emillio's story than Allesandro's.

The story pick up even more speed and while it was already dark, things are getting creepy real fast, making for more tension. I still feel like I'm missing parts of the character development, but since a lot more is happening in this book, it makes me want to keep on reading and finding out what's going to happen next. My only note is, that sometimes the things happening feel like more of the same stuff we have already seen before.

As per usual, this book also end with a cliffhanger, a lot of questions still left unanswered and mysteries unsolved.

Note: with all the f*cking in this series, it's a wonder no-one ends up with STD's...

Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. With one betrayal to his master, Luca still isn't willing to pull the plug on his love of Allesandro.  Everything has turned on its head as the struggle with the Irish have escalated. When Lio is taken by Peter, Never dreaming just how far Peter took his strategizing (stalking) until he was in he clutches.  Things have spun out of Luca's control with only one last good deed he wakes the master. Decision are to be made but with some real truths come out just how will it all be handled. Things will never be the same only it's not just betrayal but the loss of Lio. Is he alive or dead. These books are so vivid in detail that you can just picture it so well in your head, great job I am loving tthese dark and twisted characters.

I love this series, it still takes a bit getting used to the writing style but that's a personal thing.
The plot just sucks me in and there is so much going on, it keeps me on the edge of my seat and I sort of know what is coming at times, but I don't expect it anyway.
But the reactions to several of the characters have given me whiplash more than once and I love it!

The betrayal, the manipulations, the blatant disregard for someones safety, blood, murder and mayhem awaits. Everyone wants Lio to bow to them in submission, and every time I'm convinced he is going to break because of the treatment he receives, he still hangs on, if only barely.

I'm so excited for the next book, to see how this all will work out. To get back for all the tears and angry shouts I've subjected my kindle to.

Ok, another rollercoaster ride! I do enjoy the twists and turns the author gives. And while the ending wasn’t as much of a big deal as in book 2, it still gave me a shock. It definitely keeps you interested. I enjoyed that you don’t know who you’re really rooting for here. They’re all unhinged (except Lio). You hate them all but still kind of like them. The author is able to keep you in this middle ground, this limbo, with these heinous characters. It’s weird when the serial killer is the voice of reason and was the most “normal”. It’s like there’s a big game of hide-and-seek, but everyone is just after one person. Poor Lio. The dude can’t catch a break! The deaths here, I didn’t expect. I got emotional for Daniel. And I got super emotional with Luca! I’m hoping there will be more to him than this. I can’t wait to find out who the mole is!!!!

This installment of the series is *intense.* Truthfully, this series has been intense from the start, but things are dark here and getting darker, the hits keep coming, and for better or worse, at this point if you aren’t invested in some of the characters, you haven’t been paying attention. (Note here that you’ll want to start at the beginning of the series, if you haven’t already). Emilio has been through so much, and there’s no end in sight really— plus all of these characters are twisty and broken in ways that leave plenty of sharp edges to cut others. It’s hard to imagine where this will go next, but I definitely want to know.

*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Well..

Here i was thinking books 1 and 2 were a wild ride, well I was wrong. This book will throw you through the emotional ringer, and when you think circumstances couldn't get worse, bam, the next thing happens. This book is not for the weak hearted. These men will break you. The pain they all endure to be together is unmistakable, and the bond is something only pain can bring about. With il padrone betrayer brought out even more tough decisions come do you blame the man who betrayed you and never forgive? Or allow him another chance after years of service? I say let him burn, but hey, I'm not so forgiving. The web Leigh has built is seriously some of the best I've read and diving straight in next to see if our men can move forward or fall.

If you've read to this book, you know that this series is dark. This book continues that trend. I just want to advise that you read the trigger warnings, because there are a couple scenes in this book that might hit them.

Tradiemento is a page turner and you won't want for action on page. Things aren't looking so good for our boys. I felt for Lio and I'm for sure he will have PTSD at the end. Everyone's a little broken in this book, but that's what makes you feel for the characters. There's some twists and turns... and it was hard to know what you should feel.

Ends on a cliffhanger. If that's not your jam, book four shouldn't be too far out!

The third book in the series leaves off where the second ended. I appreciated this. Some authors start with a prologue and detail what previously happened that I find myself glossing over. Bravo to Leigh for getting right to the action.

And there is action. Plenty of it, along with a lot of unanswered questions finally answered.

First off, I really loved Allessandro’s character arc. This was brilliantly done. There are chinks happening in his armour as he fights to remain Il Padrone, but the human side of him is tugging, wanting to be let out of its cage where he’s stuffed it.

The story has so much potential, but. I feel too much is happening at the same time and it gets a bit confusing. Or some things don't add up.
Lio seems to have completely forgotten about his hatred for Alessandro and all of sudden he's just so open about his extracurricular activities and the punishments.
The change is way too drastic for it to be convincing.
And in this crime universe everything is too easy. They're getting away with so much so easily.
I'm finishing the story because it really could be a good story. But I can't help but feel like I'm reading some fanfic or Wattpad story...

Umm.....I don't even know where to start. There's a lot happening in this book, and by the end you may feel like your head is spinning. It's not the bad kind of spinning, at least I don't think it is. Lio is going to need so much therapy after all this. Hell, I may need therapy after all this. Leigh Kenzie is not taking it easy on us, she's not pulling her punches at all. This book was dark, it was frustrating, it was heartbreaking, it was everything she warned and promised it would be. That's what will force you to continue page, after page, after page, because you need to know what's next. You'll need to know if your favorite character is safe, or if this bad guy, or that bad guy got what they deserve. You'll crave the answers to everything that left us hanging from the last book, and by the end you'll crave the same for the next one too. If you're like me, you're going to need to know who walked through that door. I have a very strong suspicion of who it is, and I'm desperate to be wrong. Thankfully, we never have to wait too long between books!

Sometimes what we think we want, isn't what we actually want, nor is it what we can handle. Luca finds that out the hard way. It becomes evident very quickly why he is Second and not Master. He does fall on his sword though, admits the wrong doing. Some of Emilio's scenes are hard to handle, but he is stronger than everyone gives him credit for. Darker than the first two book, please read the TWs if you may be affected. More please 😁

I received an ARC for an honest and voluntary review.

A DELICIOUSLY TWISTED READ!

Omg, omg, omfg!!!!!
Who is it????!!!!!
Ok, so this has got to be the best torturous, depraved, intense, and steamy installment yet.
I can seriously say I did not see what was coming next.
Leigh Kenzie has raised the bar with this one.
Can't wait to see what other Dark Delights come next!!!
I highly recommend this entire series 🖤

Outstanding

This series honestly gets better and better also darker and darker. You can help but root for Lio in all of this but another cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the next. Literally can’t stop reading so far out of three book the ending has been a shocking twist in two and this was one of them.

Crazy Town

Real rating 3.5* . The story gets more complicated. It seems like the lunatics are in charge of the asylum and poor Lio is the sole patient. This book has more disgust, despair and desperation than the first two, if that's possible. There's momentous surprises and all the angst and drama you could ask for. Steam level was not as high as previously but what could be?
