Cora Walsh had no idea how drastically her life would change when a mob boss hired her to cook for him.
After witnessing a bloody massacre, she tries to pretend it was all just a bad dream when she returns to her normal life. That is, until two detectives show up at the restaurant where she works, asking questions about who killed the man who hired her and his four guards.
Scared for her life, and certain she’s being followed, she confesses everything she can remember about the horrible night to the police.
A late-night attack at her home convinces Cora that leaving Carolina Beach behind to start over in witness protection is her only choice.
What Cora doesn’t know is that the tough, no-nonsense FBI agent who swoops in to protect her is not who he says he is.
Lane Hart is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, D.B. West, and their two children. She loves all things beach related, especially sea turtles, and is a huge fan of the Carolina Panthers.
Doris was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Silva's ad the MC thinks he knows things that could send one of there own to prison. So Silas kidnapped Cora. Only thing is she's not afraid of him. She's kinda excited.
Another enjoyable book in the series and I just finished it in one go! Silas and Cora's story was kinda sweet. Violence, twists, death and blood weren't missing. I can't wait to read the next one soon!
Wow, Silas. Badass MC, realizes he likes the kill, but does he really. Cora is a chief in the wrong place at the wrong time. When she is dragged in to the precinct to tell her story, they threaten her. The MC decide to kidnap her and Silas has that job. What will he do? Can the MC really trust he won't hurt her? Why does she believe everything he says about being a FBI agent? What could go wrong?

This book definitely wasn’t what I thought if would be! But it was so much better. Silas is definitely not the usual hero in a love story, he’s more like the villain. But all it takes is a sweet redhead to change him. It’s not like he did a 180 but he definitely softened a bit especially when it came to Cora. This book was fun and unique and totally addictive. I can’t wait for Wirth!

This might be the best book so far in the Dirty Aces MC series. I usually gravitate towards one character as my favorite in the series. Silas was nowhere on my radar until now. He's rude, crude, and 100% bad boy. A self-proclaimed monster, Silas would rather associate with prostitutes for his needs and move on with his life. There are no hidden qualities that are going to be redeemed, nor does he have a heart of gold underneath his tough exterior. However, Silas is going to worm his way into your heart with the smallest touches. It's the smallest actions that speak the loudest.
I really love that each book naturally flows into the next. Although, each book can be read as a standalone, you really shouldn't as there are no gaps in the timeline. When Nash is named in a crime, the MC decides that someone needs to just disappear. Silas is the perfect man for the job. In fact - he was born for this! It says a lot about your character when your brothers think you've just murdered the witness. It's going to be impossible to wait for Wirth and Fiasco's books to see how this is going to progress. It's only a 4 star read for me because I have read all of them, but they are not on my reread list.
I’ve never left a negative review because normally if I don’t like a book, I DNF but for reasons I decided to go through with this one. Now I wish I DNF. The hero is straight up cruel and doesn’t give a shit about her. The story line was good. I definitely would’ve given this a 4 or 5 stars If it wasn’t for that ending. Long story short, she gets pregnant and tells him so he tells her to get rid of the baby because he comes from a family of killers and thinks the baby will become one too. And you know what? I’m like you know it’s fine, he will regret it and grovel but nope. She has a miscarriage and what does he tell her? That she should be happy. Oh and she’s in the hospital alone. He doesn’t care enough to be with her after what she just experienced. Next day he visits her and obviously doesn’t ask her about the baby or herself. He just ask about FBI ( something related to club business) she is never the first choice. His club comes first and there’s absolutely no romance there, straight up sex which I guess it gets 2 stars since they’re good at one thing. Then one chapter later he goes to her claiming he loves her and she takes him back. So I’m not even going to talk about her. She’s weak and has no backbone.
I love MC romance and I was excited to find out about this author, but now I am not so sure about her other books. I like reading about strong characters and these two weren’t it.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is Silas's and Cora's book. If her name sounds familiar it's because she was the cook that Silas had a gun on ready to shoot when they rescheduled his brothers woman. She is the single eye witness that had Nash locked up in the last book.
So what are these two doing together if she is due to testify against his brother and it could put the whole club at risk? I'm not giving a spoiler.... just read it for yourself. I took a point off my rating because it left a few things hanging open. Example is he had someone investigate the old ex boyfriend of his....the reason she has a criminal record. Nothing else came from it so why bother even putting it in the book? Maybe it'll come up again later.
Wow....not sure what I expected with this story after the ending of Nash's book but talk about so much hotness and suspense, oh yeah!!!
Silas is more the one word answer, silent, quiet and deadly type which had me all kinds of curious with this man. Cora is the sweet, innocent with a side of bad girl wanting to come out kinda girl. The two of them together is nothing short of sexy, hot, combustible and so much explosive sexual chemistry that I was glued to page after page of their intense suspenseful story.
If you've read any of the books in this series then you know how intense and sexy these stories can be and this one was no exception so definitely grab this next story in the series!!
Silas by Lane Hart and D.B. West a five-star read you will want to run away with. This is number four in the Dirty Aces series, and its best to read them all in order as they unfold the story and reveal all the juicy details. This time we get to know the real Silas, even when he is not who he says he is, we get to know the real man behind the leather. What made him into the man he is, and the man he is to become. Silas just has that something about him you know he has a story and although he hides it well, he shines from the inside and just becomes someone to love.
SILAS is the fourth instalment in the contemporary, adult DIRTY ACES MC erotic, MC, romance series co-authored by Lane Hart and DB West. This is Dirty Aces MC member Silas Sheppard, and chef Cora Walsh’s story line. SILAS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Some of the events of SILAS cross over with the events of DEVLIN #2.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Silas and Cora) SILAS follows in the aftermath in the attack by the Dirty Aces MC, and take down of the people responsible for a sex trafficking ring but the men responsible never expected to find a woman hiding in the kitchen pantry. Enter chef Cora Walsh. Sparing her life, the MC would soon discover that Cora is a potential witness, and one of their brothers is subsequently arrested and charged with murder. To make sure the witness disappears, Silas goes undercover as an FBI agent named Sam, and pretends to enter Cora into the Witness Protection Program but Cora struggles with the start of her new life, and begs ‘Sam’ to stay until she is settled and sure. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Silas and Cora, and the potential fall-out when the truth is revealed about the FBI and protection ruse.
The relationship between Cora and Silas begins when our heroine is released by the Dirty Aces MC. Hoping to save his brother, Silas goes ‘under cover’ to ensure Cora is no longer available to the local PD but Silas never expected to fall for the woman under his charge, a woman who is about to rock his world in more ways than one. The $ex scenes are passionate, erotic and intense.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting character including most of the previous story line heroes but the majority of the story focuses on the relationship between our leading couple.
SILAS is a story of betrayal, secrets and lies; relationships and friendships. The premise is engaging and captivating; the characters are flawed, sensitive and dynamic; the romance is intense and provocative .
My new favourite book of this series I truly got excited about this book from book 3 in the Dirty Aces MC series called Nash. Where we find out that the police have a witness and they’re going to put Nash in prison Silas feels very guilty and goes after the witness. But I was not ready for this book!!!! This book is outstanding truly, so the witness Cora has basically been blackmailed into thinking that if she doesn’t give evidence she will be put in prison herself as she has a past with arson. She doesn’t wanna goes back to prison again so she gives them a name. They promised to keep her out of the evidence so she gets on with her life. But then her window gets broken and an FBI agent start shouting through the window and the door to get her attention. FBI agent Shepherd has come to get her and take her somewhere Safe, Cora believes him straight away and goes to get ready. But what she doesn’t know is he’s no agent it’s Silas one of the MC that she has just given evidence about and put a man in prison. Silas had promised Malcolm the president that he wouldn’t hurt her so he plans to just get her away and keep her away so that she couldn’t give evidence and Nash would get off. But it wasn’t long before Silas was struggling to keep his hands off her and if totally honest Cora was the same. What would happen when they spent time alone?? Truly outstanding I could not put this book down and stayed up all night without a doubt my favourite Book in the series and that is saying something because I am a massive fan of this series so far. There’s just something about these to the chemistry the passion but it’s not only that there was a true connection between these two that just was fabulous it was just magical in a sense they both tried to play it off but really they both knew what was happening. Oh I just wanna read it again and again and again a brilliant read. Super excited for the next one.

Due to everything he has experienced at the hands of his psychopathic father, Silas has lost his humanity. He has witnessed first-hand the most evil acts of men. He has been so numbed by tragedy, that he struggles to create relationships. He keeps his MC brothers at arms' length and has a reputation within his club of being cold-blooded. He has no relationships outside of the brotherhood to speak of. Women are nothing more than a source of physical satisfaction. When he's charged with preventing a sweet and lonely chef from testifying against one of his brothers, the MC is concerned that he'll hurt the lovely Cora. He appears so cold-hearted and detached from his emotions, that even his brothers fear that he will become violent.
Following orders, Silas hides Cora away, convincing her that he's helping protect her from retaliation by the MC. He manages to protect his brothers without bloodshed. As he and Cora spend more time together, his protective armor begins to crack. Her sweetness and acceptance of him, despite his anger issues make him want to be the better man that he is imitating. Her trust in him, and her continued kindness unnerve the rough, uncaring biker until his unemotional shell is decimated. He sees in her a chance to be happy and alive; a chance to break out of his numb existence.
As always, Lane Hart and D.B. West manage to make the baddest of the bad into sympathetic characters. As we watch Silas let down his walls and regain his humanity, we find ourselves rooting for him to find happiness after a lifetime of such pain. Some of Silas's treatment of Cora is a bit of a difficult read, but is necessary as those interactions fill out the picture of who he is at the beginning of the story. Four stars for this MC romance.

OMG... I was on cloud nine when this book popped up in my kindle. I've wanted to know more about this character for some time and to have that chance was overwhelming. Lane Hart and DB West have created this amazing MC series that you can't miss. You need to read all books and get ready to fall in love with them all. Their writing is raw and wild, stunning and powerful as well as hot and forbidden. All the ingredients to create a masterpiece. Silas is their latest release and it's the fourth book from the Dirty Aces MC series. Guys, I advise you to read this series from the beginning. You'll love it. Trust me. Silas explores the lives of Silas, of course, and Cora. Cora thought that her life would change for the best the day she was hired as a cook for a mob boss. Little did she knew that it would be a disaster in the making and now... Silas is one of the brothers. The Dirty Aces is his fault that he will do everything to protect. Now, he sees himself protecting a beautiful woman and... OMG, what a book this was. It was perfect in every way and some more. Amazing plot, very well written, super engaging, and intense. Each chapter was even more perfect than the latest and I couldn't stop reading. No matter what. I was on edge the entire time afraid that the other shoe dropped. It was good in a twisted way. I was thinking "this is it", the whole time and it wasn't. Chapter after chapter, it was impossible to stop reading it. The chemistry they shared is of charts and the hot scenes between the two... Oh boy... They made me blush. Freaking awesome Lane and DB. It was another perfect book and I can't wait for more. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Amazing job guys, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
Silas is the continuation of the previous Dirty Aces MC story, Nash. The series began with Malcolm, the club president, followed by Devlin and then Nash. In each story, the bad boy biker finds himself tamed by a woman. Silas is no different except in Nash; he was about to kill Cora but decided to kidnap her, where Nash ends, and Silas's story begins. Fortunately, Cora does not realize she is being kidnapped. It is not as far fetched as it may sound because the authors, Lane Hart and D.B. West, are great at developing engaging characters and a compelling storyline. The storyline has some interesting twists, especially as we learn about Silas's past and intensely steamy sex between Silas and Cora.
There is less MC action in this story, but the Dirty Aces continue to demonstrate their loyalty to one another. Although the series's stories are tied, each has its own nuances that make it different yet connected. In Silas, it is the contrast in the Characters. Cora is so naive that she is both sweet and gullible, which makes her endearing and annoying. She does have a naughty side, which definitely appeals to Silas. Silas is for sure the MC's enforcer. However, he has his vulnerabilities, and that, along with his gorgeous body, appeals to good girl Cora.
With a couple of surprises and lots of heat, Silas is an entertaining storybook. I read it in a day. I had to see how these two would work through to their HEA. Wirth's story is next. I can hardly wait as I am guessing that it starts with a wedding......

I do not understand the creative process in crafting incredible MC romance, however, this power couple has it down pat. That's right, D.B. West & Lane Hart have continually surpassed every expectation I could of ever had in their publications.
This is the fourth installment to The Dirty Aces MC. Inside these expertly designed pages, we get to catch up with the latest Brotherhood member to fall for his perfect match . Following along as Silas and Cora fight for their happily ever after actually kept me up into the early hours of the morning... Willingly. Cora was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and Silas was who she encountered, by gun point, only she doesn't know it was him. Being tasked with fixing the issue for the MC, Silas sets out to correct the unfortunate situation Cora heard & saw. What does that entail? Find out Inside this book. I can promise you that it will hook you too. I recommend reading the Series as a whole.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Silas in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion. I absolutely adore everything about these releases.
Now, I am impatiently awaiting Wirth's release, which is up next in this captivating Series.
Silas, a member of the Dirty Aces MC is like a chameleon who changes his colors from a bad guy to a good guy. During a shooting at a mansion where Cora was hired to cater for the evening, Nash's name was verbalized & the MC's let her go at that time, not realizing she's a witness. He is very convincing in playing the good guy as an FBI agent. He has Cora & other people they meet, believing him. He has convinced Cora he will keep her safely hidden until the trial begins, so she goes willingly rather than feeling she's been kidnapped by the very gang who is responsible for shooting the bad guys. Nash needs to stay out of jail so Silas' ulterior motive is to keep Cora from being found to testify & send an innocent man to jail. Meanwhile, in isolation, Silas & Cora's attraction towards each other is building up. They find they have an insatiable appetite for each other & it becomes so intense that once the truth comes out, Cora will despise him for his underhandedness & deception. This is the chance he will take in order to save his MC buddy, Nash.
I give this novel a 5+ star rating. I really enjoyed this novel.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. I read a lot of MC romance stories, some dark and others not. I have always associated these two authors with really well written and gritty romances. They are usually between the roughest and hardest men and the unexpected women who can bring back some humanity in their lives. This is the story of how Silas and Cora find each other at the worst of times. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was there in the brutality, but for the right reasons. When she followed that up by doing what she thought was right, it brought him right back to her. Cora feels a connection to this man who helps her escape some of her terror. Silas has plans that change the more he is with her. He feels that connection also but he has an obligation. Cora has some choices to make as things come to light. The Dirty Aces are expecting a certain outcome, will they be satisfied with his decisions? The book is full of danger, drama, suspense, old friends, secrets, lust and love. This story was worth the wait, but now I will look forward to the next book in this MC series.

This is the first book I have read from this author and I have to say I have found another author who I cannot wait to read more from. I do plan on going back and reading the first 3 books from this series so I can be caught up before the next book comes out.
This is the story of Silas and Cora. For Cora it was a case of in the wrong place at the wrong time (story of her life). She was a good girl who fell for the wrong boys. And Cora never felt love or appreciation from her own family, so she had to find it elsewhere. She is too trusting at times and takes everything for what it’s worth. Silas is a biker who has a black soul and is only out for his own pleasure. He does not care about women and only has sex for his pleasure only – this way there is no chance of any commitments. He feels like he is a monster because his father is. He is damaged and Cora just doesn’t want to be alone.
This story if full of drama, lies, passion, and darkness, but it is also about finding one’s self and seeing things aren’t as bad as they seem. I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy through Booksprout ARC’s for an honest review.
This is a gripping story with many twists and turns. Silas and Cora meet when the MC goes into a house to save a members girlfriend from being trafficked. Cora was hired to cook a meal, she knew nothing about what was going on, but when Silas finds her hiding in the pantry, he aims a gun at her head and asked if he should shoot her. He's told no, so he tells her to hide until he said it was safe to go. She never called the cops after she left, she just wanted to forget. But the cops tracked her down, and when she didn't immediately offer information, they threatened to arrest her for the crime. She had a record for arson, even though it wasn't her that had started the fire, she was protecting her boyfriend. She gave in and gave them the info they wanted, so they arrested one member of the MC. The club needed her to disappear so that she couldn't testify, and Silas felt he was the one who should do it. But instead of kidnapping and threatening her, he pretended to be someone she could trust. Lust between them was high, but Cora had to bribe him to get him to give in. He was afraid that he would accidentally kill her, but his thinking changed the more they slept together, and the more she fed him. Silas thought he was a monster, but Cora proves him wrong.
OH MY WORD SILAS WHAT HAVE YOU DONE. So we know what was going on with Nash and Silas was chosen to handle an issue to help Nash out. Only he had thought that it would be an easy job to handle. Lets meet Cora who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. So with her constantly on edge, looking over her shoulder afraid her end is near, she does not see the danger in front of her. Silas somehow manages to get to Cora and whisk her away. So we get to know Cora and her past. What she likes and dislikes. Oh yeah Silas is also known as Sam in this story, which you will find out why. We also find out about Silas. What has made him who he is today! His story is not an easy pill to swallow. Well as you read, you will wonder if the truth will come out and how will Cora handle it. There is a lot steamy scenes and feelings going around. Which will cave? You will need to read this book to find out what happens.

POV: dual HUMOR: yes F BOMBS: yes CLIFFHANGER: no NEW AUTHORS FOR ME: yes TRIGGERS: yes
I haven't read the other books in this series and was afraid I'd feel like I missed something, but this reads like a standalone. The writing style/grammar was easy-to-read and had humor. A scene near the end had me laughing so hard that I (just like in the book) "scared the birds."
It was a struggle to get through the first half of the book because the pacing and events were quite slow for me, but then the story picks up a bit. Silas and Cora have a slow burn romance and then... rabbits!
Theirs was a strange relationship (don't quite feel the chemistry) and I'm not sure if I like the main characters. He's rough, damaged, and stuck in darkness. She just doesn't want to be alone. There are some unexpected events, a bit of romance, triggers, and an epilogue leading to an HEA.

She is in need of protection but is he the man to keep her safe or is he the threat
Silas is the fourth book in the Dirty Aces MC series. It is a drama filled story of Cora and Silas. Sometimes you are just in the wrong place at the wrong time and Cora has found herself there once again. But things get even worse for her which leads to a whole other situation. Silas is tasked by the MC to take care of a situation, which turns out to be Cora. What he thought was going to be easy turns out to get under his skin and in his heart...darn those things called feelings. Cora is looking over her shoulder ready for something bad to happen to her. So when "Sam" takes her out of town to keep her safe she does not recognize the danger that has gotten too close to her.
This story is nicely written with a story-line that is filled with suspense, drama, intrigue, danger, passion and much more. The characters are well developed and multi-layered with depth. There are also a number of very hot and steamy sex scenes which will make you blush.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
3 1/2 stars.... I've only read 2 of the Dirty Aces MC books (this one and Nash). I think you can read as standalone books and still understand the dynamics of the MC. Silas and Cora have an intriguing relationship. When they first met, Silas has a gun pointed at her head and intends to kill her until one of his MC brothers talks him out of it. Cora never sees his face so has no idea who threatened her. When she is forced by he police to give u a name, the Dirty Aces decide sh needs to disappear one enough for the brother she named in released from jail. Silas impersonates an FBI agent and places Core in "witness protection". The book is a slow build, so give it a few chapters. But once it gets going, it's well paced, steamy, compelling ride. I now need to go back and read the first 2 books. Good thing I have KU, I can read them for free. Solid Read!!

Another great deep experience that we go through with Cora & Silas... Oh my what a meeting of the man she falls for. Chef Cora Walsh was up in Harry Cox's large house when all of a sudden an ambush of helmeted men came in with guns pointing at her & 1 of them threatening to shoot her. These helmeted men had come to save Jetta James whom we first saw in Devlin. But its when the detectives questions her & incites that she had something to do with the ambush at the Cox's place that night due to her past, but then FBI agent Sam Shepherd tells her she NEEDS to leave Carolina Beach & change her Name to Anita with New Social Number etc & move to Bald Head Island. Though Agent Shepard 'Silas' SHOULD'VE just get her rehoused & LEAVE Her, but he felt guilty that he's made her uneasy & scared to death that he bribes her & what a bribe that is. Here we see & hear so much more on Silas' past & who his father is...
This is a story about Silas who is an enforcer in the MC The Dirty Aces. Cora is working an event as a chef and sees something she should not have. Silas has to play the part of an FBI agent so that Cora believes he is there to keep her safe from the actual MC he is with. Silas has to keep her quiet but not to hurt her. She is meant to testify against the MC but Nash is needed to be kept out of jail so Silas takes Cora and keeps her away from everyone. While they are together things get steamy with these two and with both having issues in the past they have to tread around things. But if Cora finds out well when she finds out Silas has been lying to her this whole time will she be able to forgive him for lying to her? Their relationship is based on all lies.

Silas and the rest of the crew went in to do a job but didn't find who or what they were looking for. Instead Silas finds Cora, huddled in a closest and now she has just become a witness. Thinking they had worked things out with Cora, they let her go but it doesn't take long before she has the next target on her back. Silas is given the job to handle Cora, but he handles her in a much different way than the MC expects. Silas, himself is surprised by the connection he feels with Cora and the need to want to help her. Can they work out what is going on and move on? This was another great read in this series! Highly recommend

Another installment of the Dirty Aces MC, and I can’t get enough of these bad boys. This time it’s Silas, bad boy extraordinaire (at least as far as he’s concerned), and he’s agreed to take care of the witness who the cops talked into naming Nash. He comes up with quite the plan to get Cora out of the area and away from the cops. And it’s not anyway you would think of (I’d go into his version of witness protection 😍). Cora, who is sick & terrified of being killed, jumps at the chance when given the opportunity to relocate. Soon, things get hot & heavy 🔥 between the two, and Silas finds it harder to leave. Eventually, we have broken hearts, secrets revealed, pasts uncovered, and their truths told. I totally loved it!! And so will you!
This is a great addition to a fantastic series! This book directly jumps off from Nash’s book and I highly recommend reading the books in order. I honestly didn’t know what to expect from Silas, but that didn’t stop me from being bowled over by what he managed to pull off with Cora. His past and what he lived through was most definitely unexpected, and tugged at my heart! I really liked Cora and felt for her with how her parents treated her. She was on the gullible side, but desperate times and all that. I loved the chemistry between Silas and Cora. What frustrated me was Cora’s quickness to blame Silas. The book ended a bit too quickly for me, but I was still really entertaining.
