Take a Bite Cafe

Rate this book
Three years ago, Megan Donovan lost her job, escaped a toxic relationship, and moved in with her nan.

Now, she’s in love with working at Take a Bite Cafe, the eccentric cohort of regulars, and soft and sweet boss, Jimmy. But Megan’s scars go deep and letting herself love and trust isn’t as easy as it once was.

Jimmy’s happy to keep their relationship secret till Megan’s ready but it’s easier said than done with a nosey Nan, a match-making mum, and a PR savvy niece wanting to capitalise on chemistry.

Trouble stacks like the dirty dishes with business rates going up, Megan’s ex reappearing, and rumours of a chain coffee shop opening opposite.

With the cafe at risk and old wounds raw this perfect partnership needs to keep the tea flowing, the gossip going, and the romance growing or lose their beloved cafe and the life they’re trying to build.

This was one of my favorite romances I read all year! I just loved everything about it--badass Meg who could kick anyone's ass, super sweet Jimmy, feisty Nan and her friends (especially how they were during the romance book club OMG haha). There's such a sweetness and realness about this down-to-earth couple who are trying to keep their budding romance private from meddling family and friends all the while trying to keep a small business alive. Their romance felt genuine and real throughout the whole story. And all the obstacles they ran into did too--but the way they conquered them was amazing! I loved too how healthy Meg and Jimmy's communication was throughout the story. And the happily ever was sooo perfect! This book has it all--humor, romance, sweetness, tension, and the perfect bit of ass kicking! Highly recommend to all romance fans!
