This book by F. Della Notte takes you back to 1946. Readers will meet Buddy, a World War II veteran who thinks he has seen it all. When he returns home, he decides to follow his dream of being a police officer in New York and signs up to be on the force.

Buddy is assigned to various tasks, including one that involves the FBI. He is assigned to a jewel and drug smuggling problem along with three other co-workers. As they try to figure out who is behind this crime, Buddy discovers that not all is what it seems and that the mafia is more than likely after him. He also starts to wonder about his superiors and whether they are compromised.

This is a great read for those who enjoy crime thrillers. It features numerous well-developed characters as well as plenty of plot twists that will surprise you. You might even learn some interesting facts about New York City during this time.

A must read thriller that combines action, suspense and humour. This gripping novel is set in New York in the mid 40’s and presents the Italian- American cop Buddy as the main character. Buddy along with two other young cops are assigned a dangerous task by the FBI. As the plot unfolds there are many twists that make the narration absorbing.

This riveting crime novel is written by Della Note. I am really fond of her writing style as she uses the right words to create suspenseful and captivating scenes. The dialogues, the descriptions and the story being told by the main protagonist make the narrative authentic, realistic and riveting.

I recommend this action packed story to readers of all ages. Descent into Hell is a five star novel that is worth reading!

“Descent into Hell” is a perfectly balanced novel, where author F. Della Notte mixed action, suspense and a tinge of humor.

It is set in New York, after the second World War, and it delves with a crime plot, where the Italian-American bonds takes an important part of the story. This particular topic was really engaging to me and it caught my attention from beginning to end. The narration is well-written and skillfully told in the first person, in the voice of Buddy; a smart and sensible main character who decided to be a cop, after returning from war.

For me, this novel is perfectly plotted, well-paced and full of surprises; and any reader will be delighted.
