With the Mayor’s Halloween ball approaching all she can focus on is working. But the forces that be have another plan for her.
Will fate allow Kashmir and Lehana to have everything they want and need? Or will the loss of what their hearts want be enough to have them seeing red.
⭐️⭐️⭐️This was an interesting modern day tale of boy meets girl….There were some things about the story I didn’t understand….but, I always like the idea of a character with integrity, drive and determination and Lehana embodied that…she really was a good hard working woman and she deserved insta-love…she was the type of character you root for.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Second read was the newly released audiobook narrated by Wesleigh & Sharif Stevens…narration earned an extra star.
This book was all over the place. There was no real substance to the plot and it just didn't make a lot of sense. There was too much useless dialogue and it tended to ramble. I'm still not 100% sure what this book was actually about. I loved Olive and Oak so, I really hope the rest of the books in this series do not disappoint like this one did.
It’s the way Kashmir ain’t play around when it came to Lehana for me!!! Something about a man recognizing when they meet their person and isn’t afraid to experience the growth that comes from a place of love. Mir wasn’t expecting to ever fall in love but when he started feeling a connection to Lehana he didn’t play games or shove those emotions to the side. He checked in with himself and did whatever he needed to do to make sure Lehana knew exactly how he was standing ten toes behind her. Absolutely loved this one!
i'm still trying to piece together how this novella actually made me feel. it was a bit overwhelming how self-deprecating lehana was. granted, she did go through a helluva a lot. i feel like this also could've been a full length novel with more details. when aubree says INSTA love, she meant that!
I didn’t like this one as much as I did the first book in the series. I felt like the connection between the Kashmir and Lehana wasn’t that strong and I found Kashmir a little immature and misogynistic, and as for Lehana, I wasn’t convinced that Kashmir wasn’t just the sole option out of that life. I didn’t really feel it. I was also majorly confused by the backing plot of Trent and Harvey (Lehana’s father and grandfather)- it was a little confusing and not at all compelling. As for the resolution at the end, I didn’t find it believable and it didn’t really make sense to me possibly because I had not clue what was going on. I believed that Kashmir was in love at first sight with Lehana, but I never felt like she was enough at peace to be a character not in crisis, and so we didn’t know her beyond that. I am interested in Roderick and Kiona’s story and so I hope we get to seee that and also if Aren will grow up. There were some editing, proofing issues which combined with the brevity with which some key scenes were written added to my sometimes confusion about the characters and what they were about. I’m not sure if this series is a spin-off from another set of books because I felt like there was sort of an expectation of knowing the main characters and beef between the Ganton Hills gangs- this existed in Book 1 also but was less pronounced than it was here- maybe that could be why I was a little lost as to the significance of some things and why the author chose to highlight them but not go into them more deeply. This 2nd book in the series wasn’t for me, but I’m still intrigued enough to continue with Ganton Hills.
Queen Aubree is bringing the heart with these Ganton Hills Novellas. It's like reading real life hood love stories. The gang war, the drama, toxic couples who don't know when to walk away. From the moment Mir & Lehana laid eyes on each other, he was stuck, the man didn't know if he was coming or going. Then a second encounter only intensified his want for her. The third time around he l laid it all the line and and then she ghosted him😂. But fr I feel my bad for him cause he was a thug and that be hard for them, that rejection tho😭. Lehana my heart went out to her, especially after hearing her story🤦🏽🙏🏽. Knowing she felt undeserving of all he had and wanted to give her, smh. That grandma was something else🙄. All That man wanted to do was love on her and help her reach her goals. He went through he'll and hot water to find her and when he did. That🍆he laid on her Bay-be😜. He said "when we done we packing yo shit and we going home"😜. Sis say she couldn't say nothing else but "yes daddy"😂😂😂! That incident with the Prophets and the Monarchs brought back so many barrier memories for her. Then that letter from pop-pop😡. It answered so many questions and gave her the closer she needed to heal and move on from her troubled past. His despite their statues, were so down to earth and his mom was so amazing.
Kashmir was the book for me lol. He said he was gonna tear the city up looking for Lehana and he did just that 😂 I loved the way he was all gas no brakes when it came to them and their relationship. Lehana was definitely going through it at the beginning but I honestly found myself not feeling sorry for her because it almost felt like she was putting herself through the struggle when it came to granny! Cause baby granny would've been on her own fooling with me 🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️ also I was glad Lehana wanted to remain working and provide for herself but Mir couldn't offer sis a band-aid without her chewing his head off 😂 I was annoyed with that. I hope to read about Aren and his new outlook and also Kiona and Rod!! Now you mean to tell me a generational beef got squashed because she said stop??? Absolutely not lol.. can't wait to dive into book 3 of Ganton Hills!
I wanted to absolutely love this book but I just liked it. It was a little slow for a novella and sometimes I was like why does all this stuff matter. I also found myself confused quite a bit trying to understand the gangs and whatnot. However, I do understand this is the set up/intro to Ganton Hills so this is basically the foundation.
My Random thoughts:
I loved Kashmir and his pursuit. I love when a MMC chases after the love of his life who he don’t even know lol
Lehana had such a hard life. My heart was aching for her. I’m glad Mir was able to bring some light into it.
I really was mad at her for being sad when the grandma passed because girl, she treated you like shit. BFFR
Overall, this was a good book. I’m still very intrigued to keep going deep into the Ganton Hills world.
The way Kas was ready to burn the city down behind Leshana was IT for me. Imagine meeting a man, exchanging very few words, seeing him the next day, and still not exchanging any information. To seeing him a 3rd time except he breaks your nose by accident and you burned him with a plate of food.
Y’all Kas and Leshana had one hell of an intro and meeting to each other only to end up at a ball and finally have each other. Midnight strikes and she’s gone. He has no way of finding her BUT decides he’s going to do everything within his power to. Leshana had a hard life. She was working 3 jobs and still barely making it only to lose everything she had left due to her evil grandmother’s carelessness,
Kas finds Leshana after learning of everything that happened to her and he NEVER came up off her. Red gives the feels, the love, the connection and the vibes. 5 outta 5! Thanks BIG PYNNIE!!!
This book was a full of emotional roller coaster mixed with HEAT & a twist! Shows you exactly how our parents and their parents can impact our lives for years. The persistent nature of Mir will have you instantly in love.
Don’t cheat yourself but treat yourself to some RED in your life!
Aligned in Red! This novella was intense, beautiful and so freakin good. Kashmir was this powerful being but the power Lehana held while less overt, was enough to shift his purpose and look for something more meaningful. I really enjoyed it and look forward to seeing more of the Ganton Hills characters introduced in this book. Great read!
So good. I enjoyed the fairytale elements in it. Lehana had the power to get Kashmir to change for the better. They both were what the other needed. Can’t wait to read more about Ganton Hills.
I love the take on Cinderella with this story. My heart went out to Lehana. She had nothing but bad luck in the beginning. She deserved all the love she can get from Kashmir and his family. Also Lehana’s grandmother got what she deserved.
This was a great read. I loved the kindred spirit that drew Mir and Lehana together. They were so powerful in their own right coming together was definitely magical. I need more of them and more of Ganton Hills. It’s so much depth in the past histories of the gangs I want to unravel it all. Now that I’m completely immersed in all things Ganton Hills I can’t wait for the next installment
Ms. Pynn is the truth with the pen👏👏👏!! I loved 💘 this story and the characters. Mir was bae😘😍😘. Lehana was a beautiful girl who deserved all that Mir provided. I loved the Cinderellaish plot. The story was cute. I am anxious for more from Ganton Hills🙌👌👏👌🙌.
Awesome read! We all need a Kashmir and his mom in our lives. Life is beating Lehana down at every turn. She needs a lifeline and Kashmir is there to catch her at every turn. One-click and see what becomes of Lehana and Kashmir.
Okay, so I’ve thought about this some more. This book was alright. It literally had the set up for my ideal book. Gritty rich male meets regular yet feisty girl and their first encounter has high levels of chemistry. For me I think the courting fell flat. Homeboy turned poetic and it was awkward for me. That aside I love Ganton Hills and I can’t wait to see who else gets together there.
Mir and Le are a whole vibe! There is so much power in unassuming people. Mir knew it the first time he met her. She knew her protection the first time she met him.
I don't know what I just read but it was unrealistic and foolish. The man knew where she worked but had to go around the city beating down doors to look for her? Make it make sense! The ending was the worst part cause its so unrealistic I almost screamed! I didnt like it...
I keep saying this, I at this point I'm sure I will never stop, Aubree is the queen of writing characters with BDE!
Kashmiiiir, daddy I looove you! I know I cussed you out and called you childish a couple of times but that's just out of love baby!
Anyway, back to the review... So, yeah, this shit was fire. I am a sucker for gang war shit, and Ganton Hills is looking promising af! The whole war between the Prophets and Monarch's has me immersed, especially because there are some fine ass men attached to these gangs.
From the moment that Kashmir and Lehana locked eyes shit was mad intense. The love, attraction, and fascination was immediate. They were literally driving each other mad when they were separated.
So that brings me to say... Kashmr... My guy... Wtf is wrong with you? This man has anger problems and wanna have an attitude with everybody and they mama because he keeps letting the girl get away? 🤦🏾♀️ Boy is snatching mf's up, kicking in doors, pullin' guns on people, and stealing my damn heart in the process! It's not fair!
This is a little random (and fucked up), but uhhhh.... I don 't feel bad about what happened to grandma🙈 I know, I'm heartless af for that one but oh well.
I just loved this book so much, like I can't even get my thoughts together if you can't already tell by this scatter brained ass review lol.
Kashmir was literally everything, he was such a hard, savage ass mf, but was soft af when it came to Lehana, and at the end of the day that's all a bitch (like me) be wanting.
Other than that, I need to record a video review for this one because this written review ain't enough.
Alright now AP! Ganton Hills is lit honey! This gang war brewing is going to be epic, I can feel it! Poor Lehana, went through it her whole life, and things kept getting worse. Laying eyes on Kashmir, tilted her world on its axis, but she knew he was out of her league. Or was he?? Kashmir was mesmerized when he saw Lehana. She made him feel, really feel when all he normally did was stress. He knew she was different and wanted her. She gave him a run for his money, as she did not want to be a "kept" woman. She wanted her own, and would not settle for less. Their love was beautiful. Lehana gave him peace, and calmed him, with all the chaos going on around him. Lehana, finally felt cared for , taken care of and loved, when her life prior to him was anything but. Cannot wait to see what Ganton Hills brings us next. Great job! 👍👍👍
Definitely worth the read. The hills has slowly become my favorite neighborhood. Nobody loves deeper than bad boys. After being dealt a bad hand at life Lehana was struggling to keep it together, tho tired and over worked she kept pushing thru. Kashmir and his mother was just what she needed at the time they came imto her life.. He went above and beyond to show her that she's worthy of everything he had to offer and move even when she fought him at every turn. I loved the dynamic and personalities of the supporting characters and they lil situations they got going on.
This book was ok. I felt like he described his feelings and need for her a little too much. I didn’t understand the issue with the prophets and the monarchs and how we screaming stopped an ambush. How did she change things around for both of the gangs where there was an agreement of territory? What the hell did Brittany do and who was she to the monarchs to be able to make them roll up on Kashmir’s establishments? The story was lacking. It mentioned this being a spin on a fairytale. Was this supposed to be Cinderella? I didn’t enjoy this book. I’ll go to the next one in hopes that it will be better.
Talk about a Chase! Baby Mir chased his woman and said she was gone be his by any means necessary!!! Lehana’s grandma pissed me off the whole time and i tried not to be happy for her downfall. But 🤷🏾♀️it is what it is! Not him talkin bout “i just wanna realign your chakras!” Like he was just talking shit about that to Rodrick! Lmfaoooo!! And he said baby you ain’t gotta work but since you want to, work for yourself! Here, damn! 🤣😍 Then the truth coming to light was lowkey wild! Like damn, yo family ain’t shit! 🤣 Glad she got her closure! And i live for a good fairy tale ending!!! Oh and Wesleigh and Sharif for the duet audio….chefs kiss!!! 😘🤌🏾💋
Lehana really couldn’t catch a break but I give it to her, she kept pushing even as she felt her world crashing down. Her meeting Kashmir at her place of work, was the beginning for the 2. Now for Kashmir to know how special Lehana was and how much he needed her in his presence was so touching. Lehana really was Kashmir’s peace while Kashmir was Lehana’s savior (although she didn’t financially want his help). I felt for Lehana in loosing her loved one’s but she now has Kashmir and his family. Loving the Ganton Hills series and on to read more...
