This book was quite the interesting read. Although at first glance it would give the impression of a tour guide, the content of the book gave the reader a significant insight into the German society. Even though the book did address historical points about the land that would ultimately become Germany, the best part of the book was the insight that it gave into current art, political and social movements. I would definitely recommend it to anyone curious of what Germany has become in the 21st century.

الكتاب فى حد ذاته معلوماتى جدا ، أسلوبه الألمانى نفسه صعب و كذلك ترجمته العربية لأنه عبارة عن تجميع مقالات من أساتذه جامعات و باحثين فى مجال الاجتماع و التعليم و البيئة و غيره

أسلوب العرض لم أر مثله فى كتاب حقيقة ، الكتاب مليئ بالـ Infographics و الهوامش المفصلة.
الفكرة فى حد ذاتها عظيمة ؛ أن تقوم دولة بطباعة كتاب يتحدث عن التاريخ و السياسة الداخلية و الخارجية و التعليم و الصناعة و المناخ و العمل و الحياة العصرية بتلك الطريقة و بهذه الشفافية و الأرقام و المعلومات الحقيقة المثرى بها الكتاب من مصادرها ليعطيك وصف و تصور شامل للحياة فى تلك البلد و طباعة الكتاب ب 20 لغة و توزيعه مجانا .. ذلك ما لفت انتباهي و جعلنى أعطى هذا التقييم جنبا إلى جنب مع الإخراج الفني للكتاب.

This is a collection of essays written by some experts on the topics such as Politics,Economy,Environment,Education,Culture & many more of Germany.
It was an educative read.
I learnt a lot about Germany that i didn't know before by reading this.
The book is useful for anyone who intends to visit,study in or simply wants to know about Germany.

This little book was very interesting though it was published in 1979 so I'm not sure how accurate some of the details were, some 35 years later.
