The Fadrix wasn’t destroyed. It never can be. And its return helps Phoebe during a wild, unexpected holiday detour into the bustling city of London. While literally escaping the dangerous clutches of rogue members, Phoebe must use the little time she has and work alongside Renaud and Colin to decipher an important vision.
Making their way back to The Murray School, Phoebe and her friends remain secluded as they continue their training. But are they safe? With all its secrets, the school has a way of bringing out the truth. Friendships are challenged. The seen and unseen lurk about. Students’ abilities are tested. And the imprisoned Headmaster Duff has made an unusual request—he will cooperate with S3A2 if, and only if, he speaks with Phoebe alone.
In this second book of the trilogy, difficult choices have to be made as the survival of S3A2, Phoebe, and her friends hang in the balance. And Phoebe discovers a shocking truth that reveals her destiny but also threatens her entire world.
☺️. I couldn’t help myself. But I promise: This is a GREAT story! A perfect continuation of book 1 (Phoebe Douse: S3A2). I can’t wait to share it with you!
The first Phoebe Douse book is a fun blend of fantasy, adventure and mystery. Book two of this YA trilogy, PHOEBE DOUSE: THE RETURN, doesn’t disappoint. It’s darker and more action-packed than the first book, and the action begins right away. We continue to see Phoebe develop as a person and as a character. There are also some new characters, including the very funny Mr. E. It looks like there’s plenty to look forward to in the final part of the trilogy.
Phoebe Douse: The Return, has undoubtedly met my expectations. From beginning to end the story is packed with action as it had me focused on the fight between the good intentions of S3A2 and the dark forces that seek to destroy it.
The significance of each character in the story remains consistent and a turning point is reached for Phoebe as she finally understands her true destiny. The story continues seamlessly, however it would be a good idea to read book 1 for context. As with book 1, my interest and curiosity expanded through each chapter, and with such a powerful end, I left eagerly wanting to know how the story will end. I await book 3.
I give this book 5 stars mainly for the substance of the story as a fantastical fiction with many lessons for a young person who is not afraid to be different from the norm.
L. Samuels has written a spectacular thriller in Phoebe Douse: The Return, aimed at the teenage and YA market, this book is the second in the Phoebe Douse trilogy. For those who, like me, have not had the opportunity to read the first book in the series, let me reassure you that it is easy to pick up what's going on, although I would still love to read book one as book two is marvellous.
Following a debacle at their boarding school which left Phoebe and her friends battered but unbowed, Phoebe sets off for some vacation time at home. However when she reaches London where she is to transfer to an international flight, she finds herself targeted by two rogue members of S3A2, one of whom whisks her away into the bowels of the airport, having destroyed her ticket home. Phoebe manages to escape and journeys into London itself, where she makes contact with Renaud and Colin, but where to go, what to do and how to stay safe are important questions for all of them.
This is tautly written and exciting for all fans of paranormal fantasy. I loved it and thoroughly recommend it...roll on book three!
I enjoyed this book so much so that I decided to buy 10 more to share with youngsters in order to encourage them to read, especially during these summer months. The Return was rather fulfilling, and I experienced many different emotions. This book is powerfully written and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
Thank you for this book. I was unwell when I had the opportunity to read it, and was it an amazing remedy and Journey! Every reader will be totally satisfied for experiencing The Return. It took me on a terrific mental journey, which engulfed my mind and imagination. Samuels, I enjoyed your writing style and how you made your characters so real. The Return has done justice to your series and has taken the story to new and different dimension.
