3.6 “Be selfish with me” stars ⭐️
Okay first and foremost, let me just tell y'all how much I love this cover!! It's so damn sweet and beautiful, and the best part is what you see on the cover is exactly what you get inside the book!
I bend down, tangle my fingers in the hair at her nape, and press my forehead to hers, imprinting myself on her, though I’m the one who’ll come out of this burned. She snares my gaze and doesn’t let it go, proving how firmly I’m already hooked.
Daddy Crush is the story of a sweet, possessive older H Karl (43) and a quirky, inexperienced younger h Jerusha (25), who wants him to teach her about sex.
His gaze lingers on my mouth before sliding back up to my eyes. “What do you want from me, Jerusha of the Valley?”

Shock widens his eyes, his pupils blowing up to engulf every bit of warm brown. “You don’t even know what that means.”

It was sweet and steamy with a tiny bit of Daddy-kink, which kinda worked here. I liked both the characters, and their chemistry was really great!

4.5 Joy Over Perfection Stars ⭐
Daddy Crush contains some of my favourite tropes. I have a real fondness for a good age gap, friends to lovers’ romance featuring a goofy heroine and a large brutish hero. And this book ticked all my boxes bar one. I had expected a side serving of daddy kink which I don’t think was delivered, but I imagine that will be a big relief to the mass of romance readers…
"Chemistry with an older, more mature guy who knows what he’s doing in the bed and can talk filth? That’s the trifecta."
According to a much older, single dad Karl, the girl next door is sweet, pure and totally off limits. Even believing this, he can't help keeping an eye on her or intervening when she needs help. Except one night he goes too far and offers a first kiss.
Jerusha has moved on from a religious upbringing and is finally living on her own terms; a life filled in colour and freedom. Sheltered and naïve, it’s evident that she wears her heart on her sleeve. It makes her completely irresistible to Karl, even though he's adamant about resisting her charms.
"I want you to be my first."
Those thick eyebrows almost fly off his head. I’d laugh if everything weren’t so twisted up inside. "Come again?"
"I want you to show me." I swallow, hard, and forge on. "Sex. Show me how to do it."
Jerusha is on a journey of self-love and discovery. As a 25-year-old virgin she wants to experience it all. So propositioning Karl, feels right, even if it's just an arrangement of lessons in intimacy and sex. However, the hunger and eagerness that Jerusha exudes is an absolute aphrodisiac for him. All Karl needs to do is leave his hang-ups behind.
"Wanting you. It’s selfish." He grunts and shakes his head. What I see of his face looks pained.
"Be selfish," I urge, surprising myself. "Be selfish with me."
This story had some seriously delicious sexual tension and push and pull that had me salivating. I gotta say that if the sexual heat had been cranked up to a 10 in the second half it would have been perfect.

So, I'm of two minds about this.
I greatly enjoyed it and this was a great read. It's a good romance about two neighbors, one of whom is older and one of whom is younger and less experienced.
BUT, I'll be honest, I don't think it really delivers the fully Daddy experience, which I think has to really traffic in the taboo to work. This is just a very well done age-gap romance, I'd say.

I was very annoyed with the portrayal of a young religious, sheltered, homeschooled woman. Been there. Done that. Found the stereotype version to be annoying. Although I did enjoy her personality and craft. And I’m always incredibly annoyed when the main character has bad parents simply because they’re religious. There’s plenty of very religious parents that are still loving and supportive to their children who disagree with them. Besides that, it was a fun book. Even if, for some reason, he thought a 25 year old woman couldn’t decide what she wanted for herself simply because she was a virgin. Ok, so besides that, it was good. 😆

I have always loved Adriana Anders' writing and so when I heard she was coming out with a Daddy book--a mother-fucking Daddy book y'all--I was like, "Sign me up immediately." When the ARC came through late Friday night I knew I would be finished by Saturday night...and when ten o'clock rolled around on Saturday night I put the book down and breathed a delicious sigh that went on a really long time.
Daddy Crush by Adriana Anders has everything. We have age-gap (he's 43, she's 25), we have inexperience (she comes from a very religious cult-like family), we have dirty-talk (yum), we have resistance (poor Karl doesn't want to be responsible for corrupting the innocent, little Jerusha), and we have amazing writing.
I loved this book from the very first page where Karl rescues his quirky neighbor, Jerusha, from a bad first-kiss. He just screams Daddy right from the get-go and doesn't stop screaming until the very end. He's gruff and rude and bossy, but he's not all bad. He's totally willing to help Jerusha learn all about sex out of the goodness of his own heart. Awww. What a sweetie.
From the start you get the idea that Jerusha is some innocent, sheltered young woman, but she's got a really big imagination when it comes to how she's going to lose her virginity...and with whom. I loved what a contradictory character she was. Just when you thought you had her pegged she'd surprise you (and Karl) by turning your expectation of her on their head.
The chemistry between Karl and Jerusha. Oh my god, the chemistry. Unmatched. Unparalleled. Romantic and filthy and sweet and sexy and loving and explosive. It was all these things and more. The Daddy stuff is kind of light (they use the word and theirs some sexy bossing around, but we're not getting too deep into the kink) which is perfect for my taste...and maybe for you, too?
The plot revolves mostly around the relationship between Jerusha and Karl, but there's some small family dramas and exciting secondary characters that I hope we'll get to explore in later books. I flew through this book, so if you're going to pick it up definitely block off a good three hours because you're not going to want to do anything else until you flip that last page.
Did I mention sex lessons? Because sex lessons. What are you waiting for?

I don’t have all the words right now because it’s almost 2 am and I am all up in my feels right now but the one thing I know for certain is that 5 stars for this story is inadequate. This story defies all laws of rating. It is unequivocally the best story I have read this year and I wish I could read it all over again for the very first time.

I seriously cannot believe I managed to finish another book on the same day. I was pretty excited about Daddy Crush, everyone was talking about how incredible and sexy it was, so of course, I had to pick it up as soon as I was done with my last read, right? It was everything!
If you're into the daddy kink in your romance books, this is for you. Age gap, virgin heroine, stoic/sunshine dynamic, neighbors, he has an 18yo daughter who is so sweet and she likes the heroine-- like full stop, this book really has the best characters, tropes, and situations.
I highly recommend it to everyone, I seriously couldn't stop reading it! The chapters were short and it has dual POV which I appreciate because I always want to know what the hero is thinking lmao.

All in all, I'd say that this was an okay, quick read, but also that what other reviewers have been saying about it is accurate:
It really SHOULD have gone deeper into the emotional development of the characters in their relationship.
That's it, really. Because while the characters are great and the smut is at a steamy level, it also felt like something that could just as easily have been published on literotica rather than...y'know, an actual book. I think the problem is just that the focus is on the smut, and so while the emotions do feel genuine from the characters, we as the readers don't get to have that emotional attachment. It takes time to build it up, but that time hasn't really been expanded by the author in this book.
That being said though, it's not a bad book or even a bad romance, so I'll still rate it up to a decent 4 stars. Loved the whole "lesson" aspect to approaching sex, btw.

Not much Daddy kink actually, just a really freaking hot age gap romance. One-seating read, I was a rather attentive and dedicated student, didn't want to skip one lesson from Karl.

I knew less than halfway in that this was going to a five wine glass read and I was not wrong. This is my first book from the author and it won’t be my last - in fact this book has made her an autobuy author for me and I will be devouring her back catalogue ASAP. Jerusha and Karl will be characters that stay with me and the passion for life (and each other) and the way that they embraced life (and each other) for EVERYTHING it has to offer - good and bad - experiencing this book flipped a switch in me that I didn’t realize was turned off. Plus it is SEXY AS HELL. Like, top tier. All the wine glasses; all the stars...

To be fair I skimmed through most of it and went straight for sexy time. By skim I mean, read the dialogue and the sex and that's it. The fmc really surprised me. She ain't a doormat or meek which I love.

Oooh I really liked this one! The first half of the story I wasn't quite sure about it, but the second half was really fantastic. I would say it's pretty light on the Daddy kink, but that was a-okay with me. It's more of a really great, low angst, age gap story. And for age gap, this one was really well balanced and turned out a lot sweeter than I expected. The one thing that wasn't *for me* was some weird conservative religious backstory / undercurrent with the heroine that I didn't love, and could have done without that entire business. Definitely one of the better dirty talking hero MCs I've read in awhile. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

This was so good. so so good. SO FUCKING GOOD.
I had no expectations really. I went into this thinking oh this silly little thing but DAMN BOY, I WAS SWEATING AND PANTING AND FOR WHAT? A KARL??? GOD DAMN.
I loved that even though the heroine was a virgin, she was not meek at all. Her character was OUT there as Karl said "You grab life by the throat and live it and it's so honest, it's so glorious" I mean for fuck's sake if a man tells me that, I am going to cry. but alas my man Karl got us feeling all type of ways. He is so so cute, and so OBSESSED WITH our baby. It was so beautiful.
The smut was really well written no kinky fetishes except the occasional Daddy, (you guessed it from the title) but it was not very much out there. I expected more tbh, I was eager for more. But I still loved the dirty talk.
Overall, I would fight for Karl. protect this darling Karl at all costs.

The story is an age gap romance between Jerusha and her incredibly hot, muscled, inked up neighbor, Karl. Jerusha is a 25-year-old artist and Karl is a 43-year-old restaurant owner who thinks he’s told old for his neighbor. The hero has a daughter who is 18. The heroine came from a ultra conservative, religious background and is very naive to the world. She decides though that she wants the hero to teach her all things sexual. I had a hard time with the dialogue and writing in this one, the dialogue read a little odd and stilted to me. The heroine was also way too naive for me. I just didn’t connect to either character and their insta-love relationship. While there is the age gap and very light daddy-kink moments, I felt like the title made this seem like it would be more kinky.

Daddy Crush is a May-December romance with a young (but not too young) heroine who is naive about relationships, but ready to leave that naivety behind in search of something meaningful. I really enjoyed both Karl and Jerusha, as well as their back stories that helped shape how they viewed and approached each other. The way it was written, the age difference never felt odd or uncomfortable and I found their romance believable, as well as sexy.

A beautiful, sweet-hot story was the perfect way to end the year. A. Anders writes with such grace and emotion that I held off finishing this book in one sitting because I wanted to savor every chapter. I really enjoyed this age gap, very slight taboo romance. I wish it had been a bit longer to really go a bit deeper emotionally but it was still so good. Also very hot.

December 22, 2020I was beyond thrilled to beta read this for Adriana Anders. As always, I don’t rate or review books I’ve beta read and I have not read the final version. But I do want to say this book has chemistry for days and it’s the hottest thing Adriana has written thus far. Age-gap, mild daddy kink...oh the things Jerusha wants to learn from Karl.

Quick(ish) Review
Immensely readable, the pages flew by as I got pulled into Jericho and Karl’s erotic romance. It’s definitely a big age gap romance with daddy kink, but what really worked for me was the balance and equal standing between the characters. It’s an intimate portrayal of their journey in exploring their relationship through their sexual connection. Jerusha had a strict religious upbringing, something I can empathize with, so connection with this tale was pretty easy for me. Their chemistry is subjective but it completely worked for me in its intensity and the sex scenes were volcanic. The all consuming nature of it set fire to my kindle. Two words- Face. Sitting. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
And that’s the big thing - this book is completely dependent on the chemistry between these characters. The focus is completely on them. There is some time spent on their professional lives and some friendships for Jerusha but very little for Karl beyond his relationship with his daughter, who is his only friend. It’s a bit of a vacuum that stood out to me.
But At the end of it all, it’s the power they have over each other that is compelling and made for a sexy AF read. I’m glad I read it and I’d recommend it.

hi this book is hot🔥 tbh I kinda wanted ~more~ filth (I mean with a title like “daddy crush” I was expecting a HEAPING portion and I think it was just a *big* portion ya feel me?) nonetheless it was dirty and delicious and if it sounds like your kink it probably is😏 great work from A. Anders here, I’ll definitely be reading more in the future
