It is suitable for self-study if you need some structure. You should be around JLPT N4 after finishing this textbook.

This is not a complete JLPT N4 textbook for sure. But the reader gets a lot of practice material which solidifies the Grammar concepts. The reading/ writing part contains several interesting reads. Decoding their meaning was a rewarding experience for me.
