Dorky, curvy, and funny do not generally rank very high on your typical college star athlete’s girlfriend checklist. That unlikely match wasn’t even the surprising part, because what happened next could bring it all crashing down...

Macie

When I agree to tutor Jace Gregory, I expect an entitled college athlete to show up. Instead, I meet a kind, hardworking, and very handsome guy. Suddenly, all my thoughts circle around him. I crave his touch. I need his lips on mine. Before long, I’m falling for him hard. Nothing in my life has ever felt so right. Yet, just as I begin to believe in a happily ever after, I’m diagnosed with leukemia.

I love Jace too much to put him through such an ordeal and derail his baseball career. The decent thing is to break up with him, but that’s easier said than done.

Jace

Dating has never interested me, especially since most girls only want to date the college athlete, not the real person underneath the jersey. Then I meet Macie, my new tutor, and everything changes. The sassy, sweet, and gorgeous woman rocks my world and teaches me what love is.

But when it’s my turn to support Macie, she does all to push me away. Too bad for her that I’ve already made up my mind. I’ll stay by Macie’s side until the very end, whether she likes it or not.

“Jace’s Ace” is a steamy, raw, emotional college sports love story. As always, it’s a full length novel with no cheating, no cliffhanger, and a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

Jace is star baseball player at college. He is there on a free ride, but ball isn’t everything. He has other dreams in mind and right now he is struggling in English class and needs a tutor.

Macie is quiet and shy. Working at the station with her uncle as an EMT and going to school, she doesn’t have time to date. So when Jace hits on her while tutoring, she doesn’t know what to do but turn him down. But Jace is persistent.

But fate has more in store...

OMG!! Amber! I am so 😡mad.....you didn’t put a warning ⛔️ label on this book. “Will cause emotional turbulence”. 🤣😂. I was a crying mess when I read this book. No joke.

This book has a gut wrenching story that ripped my heart in two! Ugly crying had new meaning. Not only was it a sad story, it was adventurous and fun at times. Young love is so beautiful. Jace and Macie are the true meaning of souls meant to be. But the road to happiness is not an easy journey and is very rocky along the way.

Overall this book is an amazing love story, with wonderful characters. They are beautiful and kind. The are so lovable and you will find yourself praying for a miracle. I have to say bravo Amber. Another beautiful strong empowering story.

This story is about a girl that starts tutoring a hot college athlete. The guy is attracted even though she’s not his regular type. They have a good banter and become friends, but he wants more and she pushes him away. As they get their relationship together and get in a good place, she is diagnosed with cancer. Is their love strong enough to make it.

This was a lovely, emotional story. I feel like we get to know the characters well. The two have a good relationship, starting as friends who are attracted to each other. He is very sweet and treats her right. Once she is diagnosed with cancer, she tries to push him away. He is determined to show he loves her and takes care of her. So sad to watch their struggle but beautiful to witness and feel the emotion with them. I wish the love scenes were more detailed but it didn’t alter my review of the book. The HEA was super sweet. Great story.

Macie and Jace are college students, who meet when she tutors him in English. Though relationships were the last thing on their minds before meeting, they fall for each other quickly. Their romance is fun and sweet, with Jace trying to make Macie feel special at all times. However, when Macie gets really sick, she chooses to push him away, not wanting to drag him down with her.

I do love a romance novel, one that is sweet and has a happy ending, and this is that! I liked the storyline, and the characters, a lot. It was definitely an emotional ride, though. I got teary in parts due to what Macie was going through, but also because it just hit close to home for me.

I am enjoying the Emerald Summit University series and the links between books, with crossover of some of the characters. I look forward to seeing whose story is next!

Macie is an english tutor for fellow student and baseball player Jace. He is a BMOC but she is not into sports and she refuses to date him. Macie is a premed student who also volunteers at the firehouse with a paramedic. She has a bad relationship with her parents and moved across the country for college to get away from home. Macie and Jace try being friends but their relationship becomes more serious. Will their relationship continue when there is a health crisis and Macie’s parents try to interfere?

I thoroughly enjoyed this well written story that had me smiling and sad. The story contained family love, family difficulties, great friendships, support, and happiness. This was a story that showed how important love and support can be. The epilogue was a perfect ending for this great book.

At the university near Seattle, WA, Macie is tutoring Jace, a baseball player. The two hit it off and the romance slowly progresses and their family of friends keeps building, between the fire station and the ball team. Just when things look great for their future, she is hit with a vile disease and at 21 years old, she is fighting for her life, first alone and then she lets in her friends and Jace. His mom has been her chemo nurse the whole time and her uncle is at the fire house, so family is close by. I love this story and the inspiration it is - I lost a first cousin from lukemia ON her 21st birthday 24 years ago. Luckily, this story has a fantastic ending that will give you a few grins, to help you get over the heaving sobs you have during the last half of the book.

This quote is amazing

"“How can you love me?” she asked. “How can you love me knowing that there’s still a chance I’ll die?” Her voice caught as the last word tumbled between her cracked lips, and I crossed around her until "I was in front of the wheelchair and kneeled down, taking her frail hands between my own.
“If I ever have to live in this world without you,” I said, forcing Macie’s eyes to hold mine." “Then I intend to spend every living day—moment—with you. Forever.”"
"“Forever isn’t guaranteed,” said Macie softly, swiping at her eyelids. “Why waste time with a woman who is simply shriveling away when you could be dating someone healthy…someone who will never give "you this kind of scare again?”" - Jace's Ace

You must read this book! Jace is so single-minded as he pursues Macie. He is sweet, romantic and so thoughtful and caring. Macie is hard-working and determined. They are so good together and there is so much chemistry together. They had to go through so much to get to their HEA. There was so much sweetness built so much angst and heartbreak within the pages of this book. I cried buckets reading it, but it was so riveting I had to read from cover to cover to find out how it ends.

This story is phenomenal, the emotional extremes keep you turning the pages, Macie has her eyes set on her path, her focus completely on her schooling and work, when she has to tutor Jase she finds someone she never expected. Jase has always focused on his sport, team and schoolwork, relationships are something he doesn’t have time for. Macie catches his eye, now to convince her, can they work firstly as friends, then as a couple? Will the obstacles placed in their way strengthen the bond they share or tear them apart?

this was the first book i have read by this author and the subject matter was an interesting one. it intrigued me and i was glad i read it. it was an easy going story, the hippy nerd, tutoring the baseball jock, but jace wasn't like most jocks. he was sweet. constantly trying to show Macie she was the only girl for him, even though she was always waiting for the other shoe to drop. when it does, its not how you expect and how the couple dealt with it was understandable. Macie didn't want to hold jace back from life and his career, but jace only had a life if Macie was in it. great story.

Jace and Macie's relationship starts of slow. She thinks he is a playboy jock but nothing could be further from the truth. Jace hasn't wanted a relationship since he had his heart broken but Macie is different and he knows that she is meant to be with him. This was a great book. I loved the characters and felt every ounce of emotion. The story was well written. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

So off I went starting the book expecting a college sports love story, and I did start to think ‘this is starting to get drawn out, how much can we stretch out their developing relationship between 2 very likeable characters, And yet we still have half a book left!’ Oh wow was I wrong! The story kicked up a massive gear and omg did I need the tissues, talk about red eyes! Oh this was such a hard but very sweet book! I absolutely loved Jace and Macie 🥰 Loved it 😁

This was so much more than I expected and it a good way. It's a college romance with the athlete and the unlikely nerdy girl but it's so much more than that. Jace is more than his looks and athleticism. He is kind and sweet and I loved how their relationship progressed. It takes a more serious turn when Macie gets a medical diagnosis and I love that he doesn't let her push him away. It's intense but sweet and sexy. I couldn't put it down.

I loved the dual first person point of view of the story, which is a deal breaker for me. Mace is Jace's tutor when all of the sudden Jace asks Mace out on a date. Yup. Things get complicated really fast.
I really liked Jace, he was easy to love hero. 5 stars.

This is
A college love story with a substance. Jace is a star college athlete. When he meets his new tutor Macie these two fall hard. They are both quality characters with substance.
When Macie falls ill and tries to protect Jace he more than steps up. This story has the feels and then some. Great read.

After just reading two dark romances, this book is just what I needed. These are two lovable, nice, and caring people who understand, appreciate, and love each other. When Macie is facing a bad medical diagnosis, will Jace be strong enough to hold them together. Great story with lovable and engaging characters.

This beautifully written emotionally turbulent storyline has love, loss, determination, despair, hope, and two developed main characters who are relatable and likable. This book will take the reader on a rollercoaster ride, and will have the reader rooting for a HEA. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
