Note: I received this book from the author and I voluntarily give this review, it is my honest opinion.
Oh, my, gawd, Dragon Magic was freaking fantastic. It's the second book in the Royal Quest series and I liked it even better than the first. The action was incredible, Rone and Violet were hilarious and the story is unique enough to feel new, I loved it.
Violet has changed from the first book to this one, she has grown stronger in her supernatural powers, she is a little more confident in the supernatural world, she is even more stubborn than before, and she is good at coming up with connections and figuring things. Violet is also adjusting surprisingly well and I think that is because of Rone. Being around him is changing Violet for the better and it's also making her a little more bloodthirsty than she was before while she seems to make him more level headed.
The relationship between Rone and Violet is complicated and they had some rocky moments in this book but things worked out very well. Rone is stubborn but so is Violet, where Rone is hot-tempered, Violet is level-headed, and because of things like that they balance each other out and turn out to be a pretty good team after they clear things up. I love them, they work well when they are together, they look out for one another and they seem to form a genuine bond.
A few new characters make an appearance, one being Violet's mom best friend who may make Rone change his view about certain things, a couple of hippies that are hilarious (seriously one of my favorite scenes in the book), and then there is Alcott, another friend, who is very unique and sweet and quite refreshing. He is a book lover so of course, I am gonna like him and hopefully, he will make an appearance in the next book.
I love that while the story has familiar elements such as shifters, magic, and other worlds, it also felt unique in the mission and what is going on. The story flowed great and most of it was great action scenes, with Rone and Violet taking on the bad guys, finding out clues about what's really happening. They are working more in tandem with not only Rone coming to Violet's rescue but Violet coming to Rone's as well and them working as a team works out incredibly well.
Dragon Magic was a fantastic continuation to the series, it had sweet romantic moments, a few shocks, laugh out loud moments (seriously they were great), a really good plot twist, and a whole lot more. This is a great adventure and I can't wait to see how Rone and Violet's story concludes. The ending of Dragon Magic was great and I am greedy for more.
Rone a dragon has in his possession a very precious cargo that he has been entrusted with to keep safe. He must keep this precious cargo safe to save his world. Rone is in search of other dragons to help him secure his cargo’s safety. Rone’s world is at war and his precious cargo plays a big part in helping to save his world.
Violet, a human or so she believes until she meets a dragon who tells her differently. Violet can read minds. The day she meets Rone he is attacked. Violet follows him and witnesses the fight. After learning that Violet can read minds Rone knows right away that she is not human that she is supernatural.
Rone enlists Violet’s help in his search for other dragons and to help protect his precious cargo. Needing the money he offers her Violet decides to help him out. But before she can she has a personal mission to complete.
Vampires are tracking Violet as they want to drain her of her blood until she is no more. Rone saves her on more than one occasion but the vamps just keep coming one after the other. Why are the vamps tracking Violet? What exactly do they want with her? What is so special about Violet?
I truly enjoyed reading the Dragon Prince. It was written amazingly well. The world-building was fantastically written. Dragon Prince was so descriptively written that it jumped right off the page right into my mind and played out like a movie. I had no problem imagining what was going on and seeing it in my head.
Dragon Prince was a great introduction to a brand new series. One that I can’t wait to read more of in future books. I can’t wait to learn more about Violet and her mother. Who and what are they? What kind of supernatural are they? Or are they supernaturals?
I definitely recommend Dragon Prince to all fantasy, paranormal, and dragon fans. One-click your copy today to begin this magical journey!

A 4.5 star dragon adventure that will have you on the edge of your seat.
I was looking forward to the second book in the series since the first dropped you off a cliff and left you hanging. It didn't disappoint.
Rone and Violet fly -- as humans -- down to Phoenix for the Fire Festival and find no shortage of trouble. I love a good music festival, and dragons make one even better. However, after suffering a loss, Rone spirals into supreme grumpiness, and I spent a good portion of the book thinking he needed a good dose of ice to cool his temper.
Violet's powers are growing, but what is she really? Her origins won't disappoint, and I'm excited to see where this blossoming powers will take her.
The characters both grow and fail miserably. Their path is rough one with even more action, fighting and obstacles than the first book. And time is of the essence, the eggs that Rone is charged with protecting and finding guardians for are dangerously close to hatching. Can they find suitable protectors while avoiding nearly the entire supernatural community that is out to get them? Will Rone find a festival that matches his murse? Will Violet find out the truth of what she is and be able to live with the consequences of being her true self?
I received this book as an advanced reading copy and this review is my own.
A Rollercoaster Ride Of Adrenaline, Fear & Determination!😲🙈🙏💪 A 4.5 Star Dragon Adventure Romance!🌟💘 Dragon Magic (Royal Quest Book #2)
I was totally captivated & fully immersed in this 2nd book from the get go!😍 Rone acts like a douchey idiot in parts of this book, especially nearer the start, but he redeems himself beautifully & then some.👍 They leave behind Portland, Violets Mum and Micah to attend the 'Fire & Love festival' in Arizona. They need to find more Dragonbloods to care for the remaining eggs before they hatch. This is made a lot harder than they expected after a loss, they argue & stop communicating!!😡😔
Can they save all of Rone's remaining charges & complete his quest? Will Violet ever discover what race she descends from, and will Rone be able to cope with a huge betrayal??😱 Lets hope so.😉🙏 I much preferred the pace of this book than the previous one. I was also pleased that Rone started to take on board Violets advice rather than being dismissive & ignorant!👍 Violet really comes into her own in this one, she is becoming a force to be reckoned with in her own right!💥 I was utterly sucked in to this part of the storyline & can't wait for more. The revelations were exciting, I've got really high hopes for the rest of this series!😍🌟
This is the second book in the Royal Quest series. Book two starts right where book one stops and has even more action and adventure than the first one.
Our protagonists Violet and Rone delve deeper into the feelings they have for each other while still trying to find dragonbloods to take on the dragon eggs before they hatch. Along the way they meet more witches, more vampires and a few other seedy characters and have to deal with them before continuing on their quest. Both characters undergo a change and seem more mature. This is not a bad thing as it helps them along the way. Readers will also learn what blood Violet has but I won’t spoil it by revealing. You’ll just have to read the book to the end to find out.
I really enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to reading book three.
If you’ve not read book one you can still read this book, but I would definitely suggest you read book one first as it helps the reader understand who Violet and Rone are and why they’re trying to find caretakers for the dragon eggs.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book in exchange for a review. My opinion of the book is my own and was not influenced by anyone.
note: i recieved this book from the author and I voluntarily give this review, it is my honest opinion. thank you!
Dragon magic was even better than book one. the action was incredible! Rone and Violet were hilarious! Violet is changed from book one in book two. She has grown stronger in her supernatural powers. She is a little more confident in the supernatural world. She is even more stubborn than before. And she is good at coming up with connections and figuring things out. She is also good adjusting to the world where Ron lives. and alot more bloodthirsty. you go girl :P.
The relationship between Rone and Violet is complicated and they had some rocky moments, in this book. But things worked out very well. Rone is stubborn but so is Violet, where Rone is hot-tempered. Violet is level-headed. and because of things like that they balance each other out and turn out to be a pretty good team after they clear things up. So there relationship i will bescribe as complicated :P hahahaha But I love them notheless!! The side characters didnt linger long after ive read this book!
im very excited to read book 3!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
These books have a bit of a cliffhanger ending but fortunately they are being released quickly. The second book jumps right into the action, so hold on and be prepared for a magical, romantic thrill ride.
Rone is trying to deal with his grief over the death of one of his charges. At the same time, he must find more dragonbloods to be guardians to the remaining eggs. That job has just become harder. The implement meant to identify them still doesn’t function. Thankfully Violet is getting stronger in her powers, including identifying other supernaturals. But after killing the lead witches of a local Portland coven, the two have to stay hidden.
Violet believes they may have better luck with both things if they head to Arizona and the Love and Fire festival. Her mom’s best friend lives there so they will have a place to stay. But the woman turns out to be a witch.
Can any witches be trusted? Will they find more dragonbloods amongst this much larger population? Or will they again find themselves in a fight for their lives and those of Rone’s charges?
The second book of the Royal Quest series takes up the action and plot up a notch – or more like four. The setting shifts to Phoenix, where the story gets all too real.
I loved the introduction of other supernatural characters. Also loved Rone’s solo human interaction without Violet even if it did not go well. The witches of Phoenix were badass in their own right. They had this mercenary vibe going for them and I loved their action sequences.
In fact, the action sequences of Dragon Magic were much more intense and visually stimulating than its predecessor. The entire book was filled with moments where the event seemed to come right off the page and enthrall me.
I am waiting to go to Draessonia. The land features prominently and I can’t wait for the visual treat. The book 5 of the series, Dragon Crown releases tomorrow and I can’t wait to get my hands on it even as I have just reached Dragon Mates, the third book of the series.
A fantastic journey of growth and bonding!!! 🤗💞 This amazing installment is full of action, unexpected and shocking twists and turns, romance and a big and painful betrayal 😳🤯😭 After a rough start, Violet and Rone finally find the way to work together in harmony, to find the dragonbloods they need for the remaining eggs; and not just that, they finally accept their feelings for each other, that help them to bond even more and to work even better together, to trust each other no matter what, and after discovering who The Emissary is, that is saying a lot!!! 💔😩 Violet grows so much in this book, after each battle, her powers are stronger, which help them deal with some dire circumstances they find themselves in 💪👊#girlpower 😉 After wondering for so long, it seems we will finally find out what kind of supe Violet is, if that damn cliffhanger is any indication 😲 #saywhat #thatexplainsalot 🤔 Can't wait for the next book, it's going to be phenomenal!!! 😍💖
This second book is even better than the first. Within seconds I was catapulted back into the story and completely forgot about the whole world around. Only when I turned the last page, with a sigh, could I return to my reality at home. What a sequel this is after the first ; amazing, compelling, exciting, romantic etc. etc. etc. think of any word you can think of and still you want more.
It is hard not to give away anything about the story. Because i think this is a book, series, that you really have to read for yourself to experience the writer's appeal and imagination. What I find very fascinating about this book is that, even though you know it is fantasy, the story is written so believably that you experience it as if it could happen right on your street or at your neighbors.
And as far as I am concerned, there is currently no book or series that can be compared with this!
Ashley and Kelly are a magic duo when it comes to this series! They've hit it at exactly the right spot, you know the one right?! That spot that keeps you flipping pages and reading on in excitement to see what happens next!
This second book of the series has amped up the pace, with Rone and Violet in a race against time to get the eggs settled with new guardians before they hatch. Not only are they looking to find dragonbloods among the human population, they also have to watch their backs against the witches and mages who are determined to stop them in their tracks. Romance is blossoming between the dragon and the human of unknown origins, just enough to keep things interesting without being overly in your face - this i love!
I'm dying to read the next book to find out what happens next and to discover Violet's heritage after that cliffhanger! 😲
Book two in the Royal Quest series continues Rone and Violet’s mission to secure homes for the dragon eggs. They’ve already had one of the hatchlings murdered, and time is running out to take care of the rest of them.
This book seems better than the first one, but still I was frustrated at the stupid actions of the two main characters. Really? You’re going to go off with strangers? It’s like when you watch a movie and you shout at the screen to tell the dumb girl not to go into the dark and creepy basement where the bad guy is hiding. Fortunately, our heroes are reunited, and the saga can continue. As with the first book, I was drawn into the story midway through, and am now waiting for the next in the series.
Now we know a bit more about what Violet is, so I’m eager to see how that changes the path of their partnership. Especially now with the babies hatching!
In ''Dragon Magic'' by Kelly N. Jane and Ashley McLeo, Rone feels that he has failed his mission. Things get worse when the dragon eggs entrusted to Violet are stolen. Rumors surface that their opponents have the missing eggs and the pair refocus on bringing the eggs to safety. Along the way they discover the truth of Violet's ancestry that will change their lives forever. Love this series so far and look forward to reading more. I received book 2 of the Royal Quest series though bookfunnel. This book is expected to be available on Amazon on October 27th. I highly recommend you get this series
I loved seeing Rone and Violet's relationship grow more here than in the first book. Watching Violet grow with her powers was also great to see. Rone is learning to trust Violet a bit more.
The quest is still on to find dragonblood somewhere, and to be able to place the eggs in their care. So far it hasn't worked out well, and Rone is starting to feel like he is failing his mission.
Violet is learning to work more with her supernatural side and at the same time try to keep from being killed.
I loved this book and I can't wait to see what else comes from these two wonderful authors!
I'm on love with this herione and her enormous heart. I can't wait to read the next installment of this series. We open to find our herione Violet still searching for what kind of supernatural she is, as she helps the dragon prince, Rone with his mission . Complications arise as the two start to have feelings for one another, causing it to be a little difficult to work together. You will have to read this incredible book to find out if Violet and Rone find love, list, or just friendship. Once you start reading you won't want to put this book down, there is magic, battles, escape plots, and some very sweet moments as well.
Violet and Rone survive 1 battle with witches but lost 1 egg. Linda the witch killed it and Rone is heartbroken. This leads their journey to Phoenix. Violet’s mother’s best friend Stacia gives them a place to stay and she is also a witch. This book has deception, drama, romance and betrayal. It will have you laughing and crying. I loved it and the ending is amazing. I can’t wait for the next book!
Dragon Magic is the second book in the Royal Quest series, it did not disappoint in fact it seems to get better, the characters grow as the story unravels. Violet's powers become stronger and Rone seems to get less arrogant and starts trusting Violet's judgment.
There are a lot of nail biting moments, but also the right amount of romance. The end is thrilling and will leave you wanting more. Let's see what the third book brings, I can't wait to find out!
Dragon Magic: A Dragon Shifter Fantasy Adventure (The Royal Quest Series Book 2) by Ashley McLeo, Kelly N. Jane is an awesome story to read. This is book number two in this awesome series that I have loved reading and can not wait to read more. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about Dragon shifters and fantasy adventures.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
I enjoyed this book more than the first. The world and character are now established, and Rone and Violet having a set plan of action gives a clearer idea of what will happen in the story, even if they are thrown off the path a few different times throughout.
Following their journey to find dragonbloods to help with the eggs and Violet's attempts at figuring out what she is was entertaining and has me ready to start book 3. I'd give this a solid 4.5 stars and rounded up.
This series just gets better with the second installment. The emotions are deeper, the action is bigger, and there is a fair amount of comedy. Rone continues to add accidental hilarity through his interactions. How much did I enjoy reading this? I did it in one sitting, finishing at 4:30 in the morning. Dragon Magic is a highly satisfying sequel.
Rone and Violet are on a mission to find safe homes for the remaining eggs but when two are stolen they will have to work harder than ever before to rescue them in time. Accepting help and relying on others doesn't come easy to either of them but with the help of some unlikely friends and an unconventional plan, things might just work out....maybe!
Wow another great book in this series, found it hard to put the book down, but I did have to do some work. Love Rone he is so funny with how he misinterprets things and Violet is a great mate for him. There was lots of action in this book, which made it move fast I was at the end before I knew it. Was a sweet ending look forward to the next book to see what happens.
Rone and Violet’s adventure is getting more epic each chapter!! I love their relationship and the way they are both growing. Stacia is a great character for them to have in their corner. So much has happened in this book and there are so many questions after that ending!! Diving in to book 3 now.
This is a brilliant read! It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention. The world building is detailed and imaginative. This novel has strong, well developed characters and an interesting story line that keeps you turning the pages. I recommend this novel and would read more novels by this author. I received this novel through BookFunnel and this is my honest review
This second book was great, full of adventure and constantly keeping you engrossed into the book. Rone and Violet and very well written characters making the story even better. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book.
Oh my give me more please!! I completely, totally loved this book! I am so hooked.. I am definitely ready to read the next wonderful book in this series.. This is an amazing read that you shouldn't pass up seriously💖
Another good book! The story continues as Violet and Rone try to keep the eggs alive and find out more about who Violet is. What a great story that has been keeping me on the edge. I have really enjoyed this series so far. Looking forward to the next book!
I really want to like this series but I cannot get over the incredibly dumb decisions the main characters make left and right. It’s becoming tedious to get through the books even though I am curious as to the direction everything is going in.
The second installment in The Royal Quest was absolutely adorable 😍. I loved everything about it, from the sappy moments to the incredibly action packed ones! This book is well worth the read. In fact they both are. Now on to the third!
