"If readers are looking for an author who is the perfect mix of Debbie Macomber and Nora Roberts, Lilly Mirren is it." - InD'tale Magazine
You meet the same characters of the last books but it is all so predictable….. These books are good for beach reading….does not take much concentration! These books are not something I would reread or put on a shelf to save…
This is the 3rd book in the Emerald Cove series, set in Australia, fans of Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove and Blossom Street series will adore this series.
This book is centred around 2 sets of people in the Cove, Ben Silver, newly found Son of Diana who she gave up for adoption 40+ years before. He finds her and despite being adopted and raised by loving parents, he naturally wants to know more about his biological Mother and Father.
Rebecca De Vries (Bec), new Police Constable in the Cove who was recently targeted by her ex. Her boss, Franklin, doesn't want a new partner, yet is drawn to her, will anything come of it? Especially as his ex Fiancee waltzes back into the Cove and wants to pick up where she left off, after breaking his heart!
Then there are the other families and people who live in the Cove, and catching up with their lives, like newly weds Meg and Brad, recently divorced Cindy Flanagan, and Andrew Flanagan, Cindy's ex with his new girlfriend Keisha who have moved back to the area.
It's a brilliant series and one I have devoured in 3 days, a book a day. I will definitely re read these books time and time again. Book 4 is ready and waiting for me to read.

Bungalow on Pelican Way Emerald Cove, Book 3 By: Lilly Mirren Narrated by: Coralie Bywater
I love returning to Emerald Cove. Each story brings me back, loving the characters and their stories. This one focuses on all three women, each we have previously met. Rebecca is dealing with her past, finding her way on the force, and wondering what to do about her growing attachment to her boss. Cindy is adjusting to her new life and finding her happiness. And Meg is dealing with pregnancy and her disabled husband. Three strong women overcoming their problems, searching for the happiness they deserve. And what would it be without a few twists and turns? A storm is brewing and surprises coming! I love this series and hope to hear more from this beautiful town.
Coralie Bywater is fantastic. I think that is enough said, as her performance speaks for itself. Spot on voices, consistent from book to book and just the right amount of angst and emotion. I love her Aussie accent, and the narration is entertainment at it's best.
Having enjoyed the previous two books in this series I was looking forward to reading this one and again I wasn't disappointed. Although it can be read as a standalone book it is better to read this series in order. As before there are several interconnected threads with both old and new characters stories being updated and new relationships being formed. This can be confusing, although the individual viewpoints are clearly signposted, but enables you to keep abreast of how these threads develop. Again the characters are well written and I could relate to them and became involved with their stories and the location certainly sounds (mostly) idyllic. For me this is definitely a must read series and I'm looking forward to the next book. I received an advance copy of this book from the author, however this did not influence my review of the book.
🌊The story focus is on Ben, whose birth parents live in the small town. He moves there after losing his programmer job and knows he needs to get to grips with his past.
🌊Franklin’s had feelings for the rookie police woman in his team, Rebecca, but she’s had her own demons to face. When circumstances change, maybe they can finally admit their feelings for each other.
✏️We take a trip back to the small seaside town near Brisbane, Australia in this third instalment in a series. The story touches on the lives of a few people in the town, taking care of each other as life hits sideways. Its an episode in a serial, and the expectation is that you will download all the books in the series, keeping you hooked 😉
There’s a serious and heartfelt warning that goes with this book - it’s emotional! I started this series right from the beginning and now it is Book 3. Emerald Cove is “down-under” as we say in the US, full of beautiful beaches, wonderful people, and, tourist areas to enjoy. This story is amazing and filled with many moving parts; meaning lives are busy, each person different and situations changing all the time. I loved having Rebecca finding safety; Cindy finding happiness; Diana hugging her son; and, the new baby being born for all to love. There are so many areas of the story-line that touched my heart, so I cried. I felt the devastation of Franklin over his Dad and the sorrow of Ben when he was seeking the truth. Thanks for a great read and my trip to Emerald Cove.
I advise reading this series in order as storylines carry on from previous books. This is a beautifully written book filled with characters you can relate to. I like the way we get to know the characters on an deeper level with each book as they struggle to work through past problems. My favourite parts of this book include finding out whether or not Franklin and Rebecca will start dating (no, I’m not going to tell you) and getting to know the woman Cindy’s ex dumped her for. Those two really deserve each other! There is drama and tension as a storm hits and various characters find themselves in perilous situations. Heroes emerge and the danger brings what is really important into focus, which helps some characters figure out how to move forward.
This is the 3rd in the Emerald Cove series and it didn’t disappoint! The characters’ stories continued to be developed. The characters are relatable as they have many of the same ups and downs as many of us do. There is romance, death and quite a bit of suspense throughout the book. Rebecca is back at her job and has feelings for her boss. Ben is trying to adjust to meeting his birth parents. Meg is trying to figure out how her life will work with a new baby. Then a huge storm hits and changes things. This is a great book and I can’t wait for the next one!
This is the third book in the heartfelt Emerald Cove Duet, a Small Town Romance. You need to listen to this series in order. This is a beautifully written ongoing saga. The characters are great, and I love to follow them in their emotional journey to happiness. Coralie Bywater did a wonderful job with the narration. If you like women’s fiction, this series is definitely for you. Looking forward to listen to Chalet on Cliffside Drive, the next book in the Series.
I had purchased two books from this series. The first one Seaside Major B &B was just ok. Many of the far too many characters seemed flat and life less. This next book was better. Still too many characters, but this time it was explained how their lives (some of them barely) touched each other. The characters were more developed as well. What I liked most is that both these books had defined endings and worked well as stand alone books.
This is a great series and makes me want to go to Emerald Cove. These characters are real and likable. The author has developed characters that are strong women who face the struggles and changes of life with their faith, family and their friends. I found myself caring about their problems and cheering their accomplishments. I do recommend reading this series in order. A great series!
LOVED this book! The story continues with new characters, new romance, and plenty of drama-- as well as a typhoon that hits Emerald Cove. I loved how the author wove the stories seamlessly--it just flowed. Can't wait for the next book in this series! I highly recommend this clean Aussie drama! I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have freely given my honest opinion in this review.
Audio Review: Bungalow on Pelican Way (Emerald Cove Book 3) by Lilly Mirren, Narrated by Coralie Bywater
Mirren aims for the heart with emotional scenarios and inspiring romances. Bungalow on Pelican Way is a tale of hope that finds beauty in the broken. Rebecca and Franklin are reaching for their brass ring. Happily ever after has constantly evaded them. Will they ever get their happy ending?
Continuing story about Emerald Cove..love getting to know everone. Now onto the next book and more friends to get to know better. If you are a fan of Debbie Macomber you will love these books and Lily Mirren
I enjoyed these stories, but it was difficult to keep them all straight. There were just too many. A good portion of each story was backstory and could have been developed into individual books.
What adventures and love combining to create a great story! The characters worked together to treat me to meeting friendly people, their families and friends!
I live Emerald Cove! Small village where everyone knows one another and cares. Real life situations any one could be dealing with. I was engrossed and able drag myself out of depressive funk.
Too many stories going on at once so it was hard to keep track of everything. Flipping from one story to another was prefaced by a bolded name and was quite abrupt. Not a fan.
I love these quick reads full of frustration and positivity. The characters are diverse and interesting. Perhaps a bit fairytale like but that is the fun of them.
This story is filled with main characters who are connected to or know each other. There are scares and hurts, but there are also good reasonings between them
