Ali Parker is a full-time contemporary and new adult romance writer with more than a hundred and twenty books behind her. She loves coffee, watching a great movie, and hanging out with her hubs. By hanging out, she means making out. The man is hot. Hello. She’s a creative at heart and loves coming up with more ideas than any one person should be allowed to access. She lives in Tennessee with her hubs, teenage son, two grown daughters, and two love-of-her-life grandbabies! Telling a good story that revives hope, reminds us of love, and gives a vacation from life is all she’s up to.
This is the fifth book in the Business of Love Series but is read as a standalone. What a great book that is hard to put down once you start. It's a page-turner for sure. Beautifully written with wonderful characters. Wes is a famous romance writer who likes to keep his life private so he writes under another name. Fate brings Briar and Wes together on her first night in NYC. He was a romance writer without any love in his life. She made him rethink that situation. A great read that I know you will enjoy. The plot was well-developed and the characters were entertaining. I read an advance copy via the author and voluntarily chose to write a review.
I had a lot of fun reading this story. All through the series I’ve gotten quite the kick out of all the references to the mysterious author ‘W. Parker’. Finally, we get to peek behind the curtain and get the real story on this enigma. Wes is a very private man. He likes his privacy, and he guards it jealously. Briar’s always had dreams that were bigger than her small hometown. She’s not entirely sure what they’re leading her to do, she just knows that she has to take her shot. A chance encounter brings these two together to form an unlikely friendship that progresses to more. I thought this pair were absolutely adorable together. Briar’s wide-eyed delight in everything new balanced out Wes’s more jaded cynicism. I also thought that when it came to crunch time, both of them acted quite rashly and jumped to some very unfounded conclusions. It gave us the chance to see that Wes’s Grande Gesture game is more than just words on a page, so I can mostly forgive them for their excess of drama. I’m not nearly done with this group of characters, so I hope there’s still more of the series to come. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
What a fun story this was written about none other then W. Parker... love his books by the way. Finding Mr. Write is Weston's turn for romance. Briar has packed up and moved to NYC in search of herself and her dreams, much to the less-than-enthusiastic response from her best friends. Things are not going as she hoped her first day there, but then she stumbles upon none other than Wes in a bar when she tried to escape the rain and her frustration. She has no idea who he really is, and he has no intention of letting her know. He likes his privacy and wants her to like him for him, NOT because he's this hot romance novelist. They hit it off and start to build a friendship... and more? There's plenty of drama to this story as Briar is trying to carve out a new life for herself, and Wes finds his way through the uncharted route to love. Will one mistake ruin their chance at HEA? While I think perhaps Briar acted rashly with how she chose to handle the situation, it did set things up for a truly romantic gesture...
This is book five in The Business of Love Series and it is Wes and Briar's story and wow what a story it is. Briar has decided that she has had enough of living in Waynesville and now she has decided to move to New York city to try and start a different life from the one she has. Wes is a famous writer and he writes under a different name to keep his identity secret and he is off to stay at El Cartana hotel to spend some quiet time writing as he doesn't get constant interruptions. Wes is now in New York and that is where he meets Briar and after spending time together they become friends but will it turn into a relationship and have a happy ending or will it not go as planned. Wow this was a really brilliant story and a real page turner and I had to keep reading to see what would happen next and it was so addictive. Ali Parker is an amazing author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will definitely not be disappointed. I voluntarily reviewed an Arc copy of this book.
FINDING MR. WRITE (The Business of Love Book 5) by Ali Parker I absolutely loved this story! With Ali writing this story of W Parker it is awesome, and it made me laugh out loud a lot. There is so much only a sibling could know. This is a fun read, it has on fire chemistry with steam coming from the pages, great characters, and a solid story line. Give this a read, you will enjoy it!! Definitely 5 stars.
Arc member give thought of own free will . This was a amazing story . Briar goes from nc to ny to find her life she is looking for and through all the first bad day she had she meets Wes . This book I savored every page and storyline. Couldn't put another book for a while after replaying the story in my head . So much better then 5 stars . Loved it
Wes is a romance writer who likes to keep his life private. Briar packed up and moved to NYC. They meet and become friends then so much more. This was well written, has a wonderful storyline and the characters are amazing. This is the fifth book in the Business of Love series but can be read as a standalone. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Wes and Briar's story is funny, romantic, and steamy. Everything you could want in a romance novel. Wes is a romance author that writes under a pen name to keep his privacy. Briar moves to NYC and they become friends, then so much more. I've loved this whole series, and like the fact all the books can be ready as standalones.
Entertaining storyline with exciting characters. Kept my attention from the first page to the last. Many lol moments to keep it interesting. Exciting well written book that I definitely recommend.
Oh I just loved Wes and Briar story!! They made such a great couple!! They had such a great connection right from the first moment!! I would recommend this book to everyone!!
Here we have Mr W Parker's HEA in book 5 of the fabulous series...The Business of Love by Ali Parker, and whilst it can be read as a standalone, it is so much better to have read the others first as you can understand the background do much more. Wes has appeared briefly in the other books but now it is his turn for finding love. So he is a seriously successful romance writer [written by a USA best selling author] but he likes to keep his identity a secret and hasn't found his own love of his life...yet! But one night, whilst pondering his life a young woman with vibrant red hair comes into the bar and changes his life forever. Her name is Briar and she has just arrived in NYC to follow her dream and escape from Waynesville where she lives with her two , so called, best friends. Life was dull and she felt that there was so much more out there and so she left despite their protests that she'd be back. the instant attraction between Wes and Briar is unmistakable and cannot be ignored. He's also a perfect gentleman to her but she seems to have become his 'muse' and he can't get her out of his head. When you get this book, and you really should, lock the doors, switch off your phone, have a nice drink at your side and settle down for a wonderful experience. Both Wes and Briar are very 3-D characters and it is so well written by Ali that it's almost as if you 'know' them. Other people to watch out for...his agent - wow, what a character and formidable woman. But then there is also Wes' best friend who I feel sure is going to have his own story told in this series [hint, hint please] as he is delightful and I'd love to 'see' his wooing skills composed for us by Ali. This is just a great book that I didn't really want to end. It has everything, great people, romance, misunderstanding, a dramatic romantic race across the country and one glorious HEA. I received a reader's copy of this book and voluntarily leave my review here. Most definitely recommended!!
Yesssss!! W. Parker's identity is finally out. Just the thing he didn't want to happen. Briar Sommerfield from North Carolina is on a mission to find herself and what makes her truly happy. After quitting her job and dying her tresses red, she takes that final step to fulfilling her dreams and buys a one way ticket to NYC. Only to find herself drenched from rain, no prospect of a job, and rude people. Wes is the elusive popular romance writer W. Parker that finds himself intrigued by the beautiful drenched woman sitting at the bar. A single conversation starts a turn in the path in which their lives will forever be changed. Briar is a breath of fresh air for Wes and lingers in his mind to the point of words flowing from his pen to finish his book by deadline. That is until a journalist shows up at Briar's work wanting the story on W. Parker. Wes's knee jerk response to Briar's slip of his identity to her co worker is brutal and crushes Briar pushing her to flee NYC and him. All too late does he realize he's in love with her (with the help of his best friend Walker). Will Wes put the woman he loves above his secret pen name...or is he too late?? OMG!!! Briar is the prefect woman for Wes. She is independent, smart and doesn't hold back. Ali and Weston knock this out of park!! A definite MUST READ!! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and purchased a copy for my favorites collection. Hoping to see Walker get a story.
This is book 5. You don't have read them in order to enjoy them. You would just know the characters and how they build on one another's stories. For some reason, this story was a little different than I was expecting. We really didn't get to meet the main character Wes too well from the other stories. But once you started reading, you didn't want to stop. Overview. Wes Parker is the famous W. Parker that Kattie and her friends talk about. He writes under a pen name so that he can have a normal life. After leaving the Virgin Islands, his editor keeps pushing him since his deadline is coming up. He has writers block. Brair leaves her hometown in North Carolina to move to New York City and start a new life. She needs to find herself. But after her first day, she ends up at a hole in the wall bar eating soup. Wes stops and talks to her. He is drawn to her and her personality. The 2 become friends. On day 2-3, Brair finds a job at a coffee shop and calls to celebrate with Wes. Wes has been able to write since he has met Brair. At first, she was a muses for him, but walker proves that she is more and he asks her on a date. But how do you keep it a secret when you are dating W. Parker.
This is a great book that fits in with the other 4. What a great series. The characters are ones that you could picture yourself being friends with. When Wes finds himself meeting Briar by chance in a bar on her first day in New York, neither of them knew what would become of this chance meeting. Briar who has left her small town to check out New York. Her dreams of making a home there was always her dream. A man was not part of that dream. Wes who is also know to the reading world as W. Parker, did not think about tell this girl he just met who he was. W. Parker was a very closed off secret. No one knew it this author was a man or a women. Well, poor Briar did not know what she did when she told a co-work (who she just met) who she was seeing. Man oh man that is a mother of a slip. Is this the end before the beginning of a relationship? Need to read to find out. Really great reading. Ciao
Briar, a small town girl with dreams of something bigger, moves to New York City and is approached by Wes, a best selling romance writer who appreciates being anonymous, after a hard first day pounding the pavement. As the story progresses a muse is found, everything begins to go smoothly, and words shared may unintentionally tear them apart. Ali Parker has given her character W. Parker an absolutely perfectly imperfect romance. Of all of her Business of Love stories this book seemed to be the one that resonated with me the most. I don’t know if she has any more books planned for the series, but I would love to see both Walker and Sonia in a story of their own.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
This was a delightful book to read. Briar a small town woman who wanted to make something of her life decides to move to New York. As Briar puts it making something wonderful with your life. On her second day in the big city she meets Wes. Wes helps her out by encouraging her and giving her vital pointers in dealing with New York life. Briar talks about W. Parker an author she has been reading not knowing Wes was that person. Their relationship blossoms and Wes confesses to her that he is W. Parker. There is so many heartfelt adventures that they do together it makes your imagination to wonder about life in general. I recommend everyone should read this book. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC for my honest review.
Finding Mr. Write (Business of Love #5) by Ali Parker
Ali Parker liked to insert names from her family and friend’s names as character names in her books. Mr. Write is none other than her brother’s writer name W. Parker. Wes Parker had a chance encounter on a rainy night in a bar with a North Carolina country girl named Briar. She entered the bar soaking wet and dejected. She had spent her day looking for an apartment and a job in New York City. They enjoyed their time talking together and it brightened Briar’s outlook as to what was to come. Briar learned to trust herself and to finally see her past friendships were with people who use her but Wes was someone she loved. I enjoyed this story and characters and found it enlightening and the chemistry was off the charts!
I loved this new book in The Business of Love series from Ali Parker. Wes is a famous romance author who wants nothing more than to remain hidden from the limelight yet dreams of finding love and happiness like his characters. Briar wishes for something more than just a life in a small town, so when an opportunity to move to the Big Apple presents itself she jumps at the chance. Briar and Wes are a well suited couple that encourage each other to be better in everything they do and help each other reach for unknown dreams. This was a captivating and well written story filled with so many emotions and twists that readers will love. I really hope Walker and Sonia get their own stories. “I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this novel.”
5 stars I received a free copy of the steamy North Carolina based novel Finding Mr. Write: The Business of Love book 5: Briar and Wes by Ali Parker and this review was given freely. Easy flowing with wonderful characters, a hint of the New York bustle, and a few steamy scenes, this novel is like a modern day Cinderella story minus the mean stepmother. When introverted romance novelist Wes Parker leaves his writing refuge at the hotel La Cartana, Cruz Bay, Virgin Islands to return home to New York, he does not expect to be fascinated by recent Waynesville, North Carolina transplant Briar who sparks his muse and a desire for a relationship.
What a gloriously written book. More than entertainment. You will feel it all the way down to your bones. You will love, love, love this book. It’s funny. It’s sad. It’s happy. It’s eye-opening for both characters. Neither expects it so that’s what makes it happen so effortlessly. Briar is determined to make it in New York City but after her first day everything has gone wrong until she meets Wes at a bar and everything starts to look up. He encourages her to give New York a try. So romantic it will take your breath away. It grabs your attention at the first chapter and you cannot put it down. Lovingly written. Truly heartfelt emotions.
What a truly wonderful love story! Wes Parker writes romance for a living and is very successful at it. But, his fans don’t know who he is or even if he’s a man or woman. He writes under the name W. Parker. Briar is a beautiful young woman who has recently moved to New York City to find her destiny. The two meet and it is fireworks! Wes reveals his true identity to Briar, but can he truly find that elusive love of a lifetime? Ali Parker once again weaves an enchanting love story starring two characters with so much raw chemistry! A Must Read! I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
The chemistry and love between these two can be felt coming off the pages. Their love is fast. I love the adventure Briar goes on and meets the man the becomes her love. I bet you're wondering why I only have it 4 stars if I loved it so much. When reading the story, all I could think about was Weston Parker being this guy. It had me thinking too much and comparing them. It was hard for me to separate the two. If I could give this 4.5 stars I would but it won't let me. And maybe it's not fair to not give 5 stars because I really did love the story. Briar's friends are jerks though.
I have been waiting to see when Ali would give W. Parker his/her own book. All through this series we have had seen this name pop up here and there and FINALLY we get to read all about the famous W. Parker. This was such an entertaining story line with laughter, steam and drama along with characters who pack plenty of chemistry to boot. This series has been well written and so worth the time to read. Each can be read as stand alone but you don’t want to miss out on any of these jewels. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review for the arc copy that I received.
Finding Mr. Write. This book is the 5th of the series "Business of Love". I enjoyed this book! We get to find out what W. Parker is really like. How he discovered what was missing in his life. He meets a woman(Briar) that gets his writing juices flowing. They begin a relationship that surprises them both. But drama steps in and tries to ruin the relationship. The story tugs at the heart. I laughed and cried with this book. The emotions this book takes you through will surprise you. This is a must read book! "I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book."
Romance writer Wes wants his anonymity. He’s fine coming up with love and romance for others but doesn’t think it’s for him. Until he sees Briar. Then things fall into place. Until she does the one thing that could ruin everything.
Briar always wanted out of her small town. It was still home but it kept getting smaller around her. So she decides to move to New York. Where else can you spread your wings and fly? But the city can just as easily roll right over you, and that’s what happens to her the first few days. Until she stops to have a bowl of soup.
My favorite out of this series hands down. The author had me sold when the girl said she lived here in North Carolina. Myself being from here had me intrigued. I love how she wanted more and set her sights on New York. I myself don't care for that place but it worked out so well for Briar. Wes was everything I wanted him to be. Their story in itself was beautiful. I only hope somewhere we definitely get more. I want for them to get married and have lots of babies. Now on to Walker's story.
This was a great story of Wes and Briar. She moves to NY for follow her dreams but it’s not going like she hoped. She runs into Wes at a bar and he’s interested but doesn’t want her to know the real, him. He’s a romance writer of novels and wants her to know just him. As they get to know each other things are going great. Will it lead to more? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Briar finds a job to pay her way , Thing get said that should not be said and but them in a bad way.
