Nancy was conflicted. Fragmented. We’d been working on it for years. And now, time was running short. We were getting old. Replicated Rejuvenation Replacement, or R-3, took a person’s consciousness and transferred it to a new body that didn’t have a consciousness of its own. The idea was that the super-rich, or super-important, could have a new body cloned from themselves and grown to a young mature age and then be copied into it. That would give them another full lifespan. The experimental team working on it, and having great success so far, was interested in Nancy because true Identity Dissociation was very rare. Nancy had done a lot of work and was aware of her other selves and the researchers thought that she could be a great candidate for a new field of study. What they wanted to do was to try separating each of Nancy’s selves into their own bodies. Integration wasn’t possible but perhaps separation was. I asked her therapist, “Rochelle, how will that help? What will happen to Nancy? The um, real Nancy? I know that there isn’t one real Nancy and the others aren’t fake or whatever, but what happens to her?” In the end, Nancy and I both agreed that we desperately wanted to try it.
First I have to say I love the characters. They are such diverse personalities and you can almost ‘feel’ their emotions, ‘see’ their smiles and hear their laughter. If you like getting inside peoples heads and hearing them think through things you’ll love this story. I’m looking forward to the next chapter in their lives. A great, fun read.
This book answers the question of what happens when a technology is developed that allows person with multiple personalities to have one or more of the personalities removed and installed in custom-made bodies. This is a good read with sexy relationships and a good setup for the next books in the series.
Another wonderful creation ! I will of course now have to read the rest of the series. Strong emotional bonds and likable often a bit crazy characters. An intelligently written story. As always, the occasional tear or two. Well worth the read.
It was a bit weird as usual but awesome like usual.
Good story, confusing story, interesting story, direct story. These pretty much describe the story good romance, good spice(if ya know what I mean. Amazon weird with censorship now a days.
Wow! what an intriguing read.!! The concept and process of a totally loyal but damaged relationship being comprehensively "re-constructed" in a safe & amicable way is explored brilliantly by Marilyn in this new episode. Hopefully there will be another instalment soon to build on the association with Robbie Jensen that was prefaced near the end of this book
A Unique and interesting concept, an enjoyable story, and a rather jarring ending.
Fans of Marilyn Foxworthy should know what to expect from her books: a lot of dialogue, some zen philosophy, discussions about mindfulness, a bit of action and quite a bit of eroticism. This book takes the disclaimer that Ms. Foxworthy puts at the beginning of her books literally, a truly intriguing concept that I very much enjoyed. The story was well thought out, and the insta-love aspect of the harem building makes perfect sense because of the concept the story follows.
Then the ending just comes completely out of left field and leaves us in a very weird place. It feels almost like Ms. Foxworthy is trying to tie up some loose ends in some of her other series in the Jenson saga, one series is specifically mentioned, however she hasn't gotten any of her other series to the point that they have loose ends that need to be tied up yet.
Overall, the premise behind the story is a great one, but the ending leaves us in a very strange place and it's pretty obvious we won't be hearing from these characters for a while because this clearly comes near the end of the Robby Jenson saga.
