Sanatana Dharma means the Eternal Religion, theAncient Law, and it is based on the Vedas, sacred books given to men many long ages ago.-This Religion has also been called the Aryan Religion, because it is the Religion that was given to thefirst nation of the Aryan race; Arya means noble, and the name was given to a great race, much finerin character and appearance than the races whichwent before it in the world's history. The firstfamilies of these people settled in the northern partof the land now called India, and that part in whichthey first settled was named Aryavarta, becausethese Aryans lived in it. "[The land] from theeastern ocean to the western ocean, between the twomountains [Himavat and Vindhya], the wise call Aryavarta."In later days the Religion was called the HinduReligion, and this is the name by which -it is nowusually known. It is the oldest of living Religions, and no other Religion has produced so many greatmen-great teachers, great writers, great sages, greatsaints, ' great kings, great warriors, great statesmen, great benefactors, great patriots, The more youknow of it, the more you will honor and love it, andthe more thankful you will be that you were born intoit. An unbelievably excellent book. It just astounds me about the level of wisdom and intelligence which existed in the ancient society and which modern psychologists are now calling it as new research. This book gives you an insight into the profound knowledge which existed in civilisations thousands of years ago most of us have forgotten that. I would highly highly recommend reading this book at a very slow pace to really understand the philosophy as well as the profound knowledge.
This is probably the only book on Hinduism which I have come across which gives you a fantastic dashboard of the different books which exist in the philosophy, what is the logic behind it, and explains the science behind what does philosophies are.

Sanatan Dharma, 1916, an elementary textbook of Hindu Religion and Ethics is published by the managing committee of the BHU and is a wonderful introduction to Sanatan Dharma ( Hinduism) for the youth and people who would like to understand the basics.

There is a logo on the initial pages which says: Vidya Dharmena Shobhate, that means knowledge is befitting for Dharma.

This book is worth reading. Read the first timebto understand and read again for indepth understanding. use a pen or pencil and make notes.

Real treat to read.
One of the best books that I have come across that sheds light on our way of life.
This is elementary level, therefore doesn't explain in depth however indeed touches almost all relvant aspects with enough information that gives a fair idea about all the major aspects of Hinduism.
