I’ve been reading this series with my eldest daughter. We are so excited to be close to halfway through the series. We were discussing the other day how much the storyline has changed since book one through book fourteen.

Lionel Washington is a Morale Monitor for the Global Community. He seems to be a right hand man to Commander Blancka. Conrad Graham another Morale Monitor has become a believer with help from Lionel.

Meanwhile, Judd Thompson and Vicki Byrne are on the run. Both are wanted by the Global Communtiy. Commander Blancka will do anything to find them and stop them.

Vicki Byrne is accused of killing Mrs. Jenness her former principle, but an unlikely friend shows up to help her cause. Enter Mr. Stein, Chaya’s Father. Vicki uses the time to share with him the truth that is found only in Jesus. I love how Vicki tells Mr. Stein she would die to share the message of the gospel with him if she had to.

Vicki although trapped by Global Community ends up escaping with the help of Lionel and Conrad! Everyone is reunited, but Darrion Stahley a well known character at this point is taken in custody as she tries to free Vicki.

It’s been quite the adventure and the growing story.

I’m excited for book Fifteen.

I thought they would all be together at the end of this book but no. Vicki is back with Judd and they are okay so that is good. Darrion is in the hands of GC now.

Judgement Day is one of my favorite Left Behind books. All of the books are quite amazing. Its astonishing how they use God and The Bible in the books. Me personally I think it is a great way to break down symbolism in the bible for kids. The events seem so real like they can really happen if you believe or interested in all that conspiracy stuff that ties in to the books too. Jerry B. Jenkins set a great visual image of the scenery from worldwide earthquakes to guards dogs chasing you in a pitch black forest. The kids do great changes in the book that everyday people do, Its encouraging. I highly recommend this book.

I will give the book this: there was one laugh-out-loud moment for me. One of the protagonists accused the Antichrist of being more interested in telephones and transportation than in human suffering. And y'know, if you replace "Antichrist" with "entire LB franchise," truer words were never spoken.
