About the author

Jerry Bruce Jenkins is an American novelist and biographer. He is best known as the writer of the Left Behind series of books for Tim LaHaye and The Chosen novels to accompany his son Dallas's TV series. Jenkins has written more than 200 books, including mysteries, historical fiction, biblical fiction, cop thrillers, international spy thrillers, and children's adventures, as well as nonfiction. His works usually feature Christians as protagonists. In 2005, Jenkins and LaHaye ranked 9th in Amazon.com's 10th Anniversary list of Hall of Fame authors based on books sold at Amazon.com during its first 10 years. Jenkins now teaches writers to become authors here at his website. He and his wife Dianna have three sons and eight grandchildren.

One thing that isn’t the most consistent in this series is the character’s ages. Sometimes they are one age in one book and then the next book they are a year younger again. Sometimes confusing, but unless you focus on it, those parts shouldn’t distract too much from the story.

A Quickie Review

The Young Tribulation Force's ninth outing involves one kid being captured, and the other kids putting it all on the line to save him, all while World War III has broke loose. Exciting, intense, and gripping, this is what "end times" fiction should be.

Content Concerns: As mentioned above, kidnapping plays a big part in this book. There is also some violence, as well as one or two depictions of smoking. The intensity might be a bit much for young kids.

It's a sad day for the Young Trib Force as they have to mourn the loss of their friend and leader.

I'm just getting back into the Left Behind Kids series after several months of a hiatus. This one definitely jumped me right back into the action!

This book was about the carry over events that happened in the previous book. Ryan was held in an abandoned apartment with a girl named Darrion Stahley. She is a rich girl whose aunt and uncle told the family about Jesus and like everyone else left behind "rejected" him. Her dad was working for the Global Community (Carpathia Business) and he threatened to tell the truth and they abductive them. Then due to the events of things they eventually find a way out. The run for their lives trying to relocate with the Young Trib Force leaving Chaya and Lionel home. They get Mr. Stahoey to locate his daughter, find his daughter, and enters a shoot out which causes a gun shot wound. They reach the car and they both confess salvation to Jesus Christ, but Mr. Stahley died from complications. They go home with Darrion and Mrs. Stahley and learns that things are getting worse from here and all still alive Chicago residents and surrounding small cities and neighborhoods (Mount Prospect where they live) must evacuate.

This was the best book so far in the series. I could not put it down. So much was happening and I just needed to know what happened. I can’t believe that happened to Ryan but I guess it was a good thing because now they have money again. They always have more people in their group so that is good. I just can’t believe that the big guy in power that is saying he is anti war is bombing the big cities. That is crazy!!

It's not necessary to have read all the previous books in the series, but it would help. I didn't, and in this short of a novel, it was difficult to bond with any of the characters. It somehow lacks conviction, like it's written to a formula and can't stray. The action is exciting and the concept, which is why it is a popular series I suppose.

The 3 kids begin looking for Ryan, who has been kidnapped. Him and a girl were kidnapped for many reasons. Ryan barely lives, and the 2nd attacks start on World War 3

This was good, like the other books in the series. It had alot of action and the characters barely survived!
