You should definitely read this if you’ve read the Place Between. It’s a wonderful epilogue. I wanted more.

very, very cute follow-up to Kit’s debut novel. it was basically just a sweet series of vignettes, but i love these two characters and Kit is a great writer so i thoroughly enjoyed this. (plus it was a freebie, so you can’t beat that!)

The only thing missing is what Abbott said about Ned to Susan all those years ago! Love these characters and their honest, tender, funny love.

Following The Place Between, this short story serves as a pretty decent conclusion. I feel like it was just as whelming and neutral as the main novel, but still also leaving something to be desired.

This story answered some of the questions left unanswered during the main novel, but not all of them. Getting to see the boys navigate first holidays together, and see them open up to each other more and really get into their relationship more was great and a very refreshing story. It was cute and fairly wholesome.

But even after this story, the future is still not clear and the next phase of their relationship unanswered. While a nice conclusion, I would have personally liked more confirmation towards the longevity of the relationship.

I wish we had gotten Abbots point of view in the main book! He is exactly the kind of character I normally love but I just wasn’t feeling the chemistry or appeal of this couple in the main book. I really wanted to love it and was frustrated I didn’t love it more so thought I’d give this a go and I thin it’s what was missing for me. I needed out of Neds stressed, depressed head!

This was a very cute collection short stories, and especially nice having the opportunity to see things from Abbot’s perspective this time.

I think this worked nicely instead or an epilogue, and I hope that we get to read more about Ned & Abbot.

Short follow up to The Place Between. Less focused on xmas than the cover led me to believe, instead giving us moments across multiple holidays. The best thing about it is probably that it's Abbot's pov instead of Ned's.

Short and sweet! After reading The Place Between, I was starving for more Abbot and Ned content and I’m glad the author wrote a little extra on the side. Petition for more Abbot POVs in the future!!!!

Perfect read for Christman day <3

The Place Between was exclusively in Ned's point of view, which was amazing Ned is lovely, but I was dying to know what Abbot was feeling and thinking

So it was pretty freaking amazing to know that Abbot is just as in love with Ned as Ned is, he is equally nervous and shy with Ned and new experiences

Him interacting with Bax and being nervous around Peggy and being positively surprised at all the affection he gets from Ned's familyyyy. ADORABLE

And then just Ned and Abbot being a cute domestic couple, making plans for the future <3

I really liked parts of it and I still love Ned and Abbot (so more 3.5 than 3) but this is just a bunch of really short scenes put together and idk I think it would have been better if it were longer

What a perfect little Christmas novella for Ned and Abbot. It was the epilogue that I needed in order to move on from them. It left me feeling content and happy knowing that they ended up in a really great place moving forward :)

A very cute novella that is an epilogue to The Place Between. It's about Ned and Abbott's developing relationship as a new couple and it's sooo romantic!

It is ONLY 23 pages! It doesn't feel fair to have it in my list of books read for 2023.

It is ONLY 23 pages! It isn't enough, because I really like these characters.

It is only 23 pages and they are, like, 1-2 page short stories that tie together nicely but I want ALL of the story, not just snippets. I am glad to have the snippets though because I'm greedy and it falls under the category of "more".
