In this revised edition of an extraordinarily popular book, best-selling author Stephen Arroyo discusses the two subjects that people most often want to understand through astrology: Personal relationships and compatibility; Tuning in to the cycles that pervade and shape our lives. Relationships & Life Cycles has sold over 80,000 copies worldwide and is internationally recognized as a breakthrough book that readers find especially easy to use, even if they know only the basics of astrology. This second edition now includes a comprehensive index to make this wealth of insight even more accessible. The spontaneous quality of this book makes it especially valuable and unique, since it includes numerous insights and tidbits of information not found in more conventional presentations.
Stephen Arroyo (born October 6, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri) is an American author and astrologer.[1]
Arroyo has written seven books on psychologically oriented astrology which outline his theory that the individual’s experience of the Solar System’s impacts on their personal energy field, both psychological and physical. His works recast astrological concepts in psychological terms, and reject what he perceives as the fatalism and negativity of old-fashioned astrology. His books have now been translated into 20 languages.
This book is a written version of his lectures/workshops and is not an astrology cookbook, although there are Venus/Mars in Signs and transit Saturn/Jupiter in Houses.
I greatly enjoyed the book since it gives a lot of insights related to relationships, life cycles based on astrological patterns (as the title says), surprised there was a big chunk of it on transits.
I purchased this book hoping to learn more about Synastry, but I was a bit disappointed that it was not a cookbook on synastry however he does point out the important aspects of synastry and I have learned quite a lot on what to look for in synastry/relationships.
It's quite an acceptable book for a modern astrology book on relationships. It explains nicely and plainly the author's view on transits and synastry. The author has a nice humble tone I like and he has some knowledge of traditional astrology. His discussion on predictive vs. psychological techniques is at least more interesting than in most cases. I admit that after months of reading Hillman, Plotinus and Iamblichus I felt this book was a little boring and that's why it took me so long to work through it. It was worth it to sharpen my synastry abilities though.
This is an excellent book for understanding how the planets influence our relationships. Stephen Arroyo's interpretations between Mercury, Venus & Mars are excellent! He delves into the personal planets and reveals their influences to the hilt. This book is recommended for all people who know astrology is true.
great book on synastry... an easy to understand writing style thats almost more like a seminar than a text book. covers lots of topics and dynamics with ease. has a psychological and human slant on most of the analysis and case studies to match.
