I liked the art. Kicked off like the usual reverse chance. I liked Hadis and Rave. Not so sure about the age gap thing, even as a joke. I did like how much of a reverse couple they are. Despite being a force of reckoning in the future, Hadis is sweet and taken down by a single word of affection, meanwhile Jill has an abundance of power. The prince was gross.

While the art is solid and the story has some intrigue, there is way too much yikes in here. Not sure if I'll continue or not.

Bref.

This is a good reminder of why I usually stick to cosier manga. I first came across this series through the anime trailer and thought it looked interesting. When I realised it was based on a manga, I picked up the first two volumes to give a try.

From the start, I was intrigued but also uneasy. The story follows Jill, who is 16 when she learns her fate, only to go back in time and find herself at 10 years old again. I enjoy time travel stories, and that premise alone drew me in. But then the plot quickly introduces an engagement between Jill, at 10, and a 19-year-old emperor.

Now, I know this is set in a fictionalised historical world, and cultural context plays a big part in how relationships like this are portrayed in certain media. While I can understand where the idea may have come from, it was something I personally found uncomfortable to read.

In volume 2, we learn more about why the emperor must marry someone young to break a curse. Nothing inappropriate happens between the characters, but for me, the underlying dynamic still felt unsettling. It also raised some broader questions about how female characters are sometimes positioned in stories. Even when they’re meant to be the heroine. I kept hoping Jill’s real mental age (her 16-year-old self) would come into play with characters around her, but when that wasn’t explored, I realised this wasn’t going to be the series for me.

That said, I want to note that the artwork is beautifully done. The character designs and worldbuilding details are striking. Ultimately, though, the storyline didn’t sit right with me, so I’ll be leaving it here. 2 Stars.

Jill Cervel, the magically gifted daughter of a noble family, dedicated her life to training for war. It was all for her fiancé and one true love, Prince Gerald der Kratos... until he sentenced her to death for discovering his dark secret! Before she died, she vowed, "I will reform, and revenge myself."
She was reborn six years in the past. Determined to change her fate, she rejected Prince Gerald's proposal and instead proposed to her kingdom's future rival, the Dragon Emperor, also known as the Cursed Emperor! However, he seems so different from the person she met six years in the future. Now, he is a beautiful, handsome, and benevolent emperor who loves to cook and sometimes acts like a little puppy! At least, that's how it seems to Jill and to me too! :D
Even though she looks like she's 10, her maturity is more like that of a 16-year-old. That's why it doesn't bother me so much...the age gap between them.
I think Jill felt the same thing I felt when I read this manga... the loneliness in the Dragon Emperor's heart and that all he wants deep down is someone he can trust and love. All he wants is a family. Jill thought, "All I wanted was to be reborn and change my fate, but now I want to make this person happy!"

The author & artist who also did the manga version of the author's previous book "I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss". I really like the author's combination of cute rom-com with serious fantasy. Her heroines are strong and her heroes are very beautiful. The artist is a great match to the story and does a great job with both the beautiful men and the comedy.

In this book the protagonist escapes her bad end by looping back in time to before she gets murdered by her prince charming. She tries to avoid her fate by proposing to a random guy who takes her at her word and takes her as his bride. Except...she's currently 12 years old...and the guy she proposed to is the dreaded Dragon Emperor of a rival kingdom...and the killer prince charming is still after her life. In trying to avoid her fate she's landed square in the middle of a war that in her previous life, she helped to win.

Admittedly, the story does flow easier in manga format for this one than the light novel, especially when it comes to visual cues, like how it seems Hadis and Rave recognize at the beginning that Jill isn't in her true form and may have actually been able to see her older soul for at least a brief moment, though it seems as if they forget this rather quickly. The short story at the end is interesting as well, though it took a minute to realize it mostly takes place during Jill's first life before shifting focus to the current reality, which would turn it into a memory. It's also hilarious to see rave especially in art form - he really does look more like a fat cartoon snake with wings.

Let me just say that as long as they continue to keep conscious of the fact that the FL is 10 years old!!! when it comes to her interactions with the ML, and not try to romanticize their current “relationship” (a contract marriage, in name only), then I can definitely find myself enjoying this series, because it is somewhat funny and I do find myself interested in seeing how the FL’s life changes from her previous one.
Other than that, I’ll read the next one if I come across it at some point and have the time to read it, but it likely will not be a priority.

The storyline is actually very awesome. It was more well explained than in the anime.
Jill tries to escape her ex fiance in the past life but ended engaged to the Dragon Emperor.
We are shown some sneak peak in their past interactions before she died. Was she supposed to be with him? The Kratos's goddess was the wife of the Dragon emperor but because of the curse that cannot happen and Jill been the new wife will stop the curse from happening that's why the age is important in this new storyline.

Decent adaptation of the light novel

I'm a big fan of the light novels and was excited to see they started a manga. The art is a little goofy but honestly that does the story just fine. Pacing feels natural and length doesn't feel short, which lately has been most of my complaints about new mangas.

yiiikkess.

You know, this has a lot of things going for it. The main character is kind of a bamf. The world is interesting so far. The magic is cool. Was it really too much to ask not to make the main male lead 19 when the female lead looks 10? Or not to make the villain an incestuous creep? Gonna pass on this one.

The age gap is SO icky, but the storyline and the myths within the story is solid, so I’ll read the book this comic is based on to find out more.

Definitely enjoyed this. The emperor Hadis is very strange and goofy. He has a dragon that only him and the heroine can see. She agrees to marry him and they set off for his kingdom. So far it's interesting and I want to see where it goes.

This was such a fun start. I love a second-chance/do-over setup, and the mix of drama, fantasy politics, and romantic tension made this easy to fly through. Definitely the kind of manga that makes you want to immediately pick up the next volume.

reincarnated into the body of a 10y old, there is KISSING (with her 19y old husband) and grooming going on here which just does not interest me, idc if she's '16 in her mind' lmao.

I saw this at the library thinking it would be a fun read. Was not expecting an age gap romance. I will not be continuing this series.

I can’t get over the age difference. The story had potential to be entertaining, if they aged her up. The characters do address the age difference, but then brush it off. The art is pretty.

I love this manga for pointing out the common and rather glaring flaws with this genre, such as the inc*st or the often big age gaps. It seems very self-conscious for a isekai-type book.

The FMC is 10 and the MC is 19. The recession does not matter. This is gross.
