Running from my father and the life he had planned for me was an easy choice. I never had it in me to join the ‘family business’. For months, I kept my head down and stuck to the shadows, afraid he’d find me. Now, a year later, I’ve almost finished my degree and have a job I love. One wrong move could take it all away from me. Getting involved with Jude could either set me free or make me lose it all. But I know that he’s mine and worth the risk.
Jude
All I ever wanted was to be a cop like my old man. I worked my way through the academy and have built a decent life, but there’s something missing and I don’t know how to find it. Watching my friends find that special someone to share their life with makes me envious. When I see Matteo for the first time, I’m intrigued and suspicious. I know he’s hiding something, and I’m determined to find out what it is. There’s many obstacles in our path, but I will slay his demons or die trying. He’s mine, and I’ll do anything to keep him.
Our books are a little bit dirty and a whole lotta sweet. They’re low-angst, contain explicit mm lovin’, insta-love, possessive alphas who take what they want, #caveman, and maybe a virgin or two. You’ve been warned.
I didn't expect the story to flow as well as it did with these two unlikely characters but that's exactly what happened. Matteo was hiding a past and Jude the ever protective police officer decides he was going to get the secret out of Matteo no matter what.🚔 😂 Things quickly and unexpectedly get out of control. This was quite the story of snarky wit and undercurrent sexual 🔥 attraction. I approved of Judes methods, he had me cracking 😂 up throughout the book. He had such a good heart and Matteo just needed to know he didn't have to be on his own anymore because he had friends that would stand up and protect him. I loved the dual point of views with this book and the jumping forward with the epilogue. I only wish there was a little more interaction throughout the book with the previous couples. This book could be read as a stand alone, I would highly 👏 recommend it to read!
I loved Jude and Matteo! They turned out to be such an adorable couple. I will admit to really disliking Jude in the beginning. He just steamrolled Matteo so much! Ultimately, it was for his own good, of course. But it took me a minute to fall in love with him.
I felt for Matteo so much. The life he had to lead prior to leaving was just awful and I loved what a sweet man he turned himself into. He and Jude ended up being so wonderful together and I loved their epilogue so so much!
Matteo ran away from his crime boss father and has been laying low for the past year working with Nico and Knox at their shop. However, on the day Jude walks into the shop, unbeknownst to Matteo, his life is about to change forever.
Jude has been friends with Knox and Nico since they were kids. He’s a cop for their small town & gets the feeling that Matteo is hiding something. Obviously Jude is going to poke around Matteo’s history and when he’s left with more questions than answers a new plan develops.
These books keep getting better. They’re great to read to escape from the world for a short time.
Honestly, I expected more from this book. I expected more relationship and I was disappointed in how forced it was. It was a fast burn.
It sorta goes like this: [summary spoiler!!]
cop sees “suspicious” mechanic, becomes obsessed. Looks him up in system, doesn’t have any evidence or warrant, cuffs him, abducts him and brings him to cops cabin in the woods. Keeps mechanic chained up with the cuffs so he doesn’t escape. Lots of “not telling you anything!” and macho sexual thoughts. Suddenly they love one another and the mechanics mob-boss father abducts him and he is rescued. then they are HEA.
There is no rhyme or reason. Its so fast and fabricated and unrealistic. Only giving it 2 stars because I like the idea of the book, and I think if the author edited and makes it full length it would be better.
Still having fun with this series. It feels like the authors tried to get back to their non-consent caveman roots here with the whole thing, but again, heavily on the sweet side. Which, like, I generally adore when done right, and alphaholes or possessive caveman type MCs who are also super sweet about their men are exactly my cuppa, which is probably why this series works for me, but still... I feel like they're trying to find their balance with what kind of stories this series is going to have, and not quite hitting either end of the sugary sweet to total alphahole spectrum. Sigh. But! Still fun :)
Here is the romance of police officer Jude and Matteo son of a Chicago crime boss. Jude promises to love and protect Matteo from his father and that mafia life. When Matteo is kidnapped by own father, will Jude be able to save him? Will their newfound love last a lifetime? Does their future hold their shared love and the opportunity for expansion? This as well the other books in the He’s Mine series are good reads! I encourage you all to go out and read B. Jaycox.
3 stars. My least favorite in the series. Matteo and Jude lacked chemistry and Jude wasn’t like Nico (my fave) or Knox meaning that he didn’t give possessive alpha at all. The first two worked because those two characters are balls to the walls crazy over their mates. Jude was perfectly nice which is fine but I wanted more. I was bored honestly. Not all that interested in the fourth book so I’m calling it quits with this series. I’m glad that I read those first two books though those were great.
Jude and Matteo. They were cute and just what each other needed in their lives. They were equally protective and crazy about each other. And the epilogue was so heart-warming.
Notable Quotes:
“Pop, this is Matteo. We’re seeing each other. He’s mine.” Matteo gasps and tries to pull away. I tighten my grip on his hand. ++++++++++++++++
[Jude]
Blinking away the tears in my own eyes, I start the truck and head towards home. Our home, with my family, because they’re mine.
Disappointing after the first two books. No sexual attraction. No sexual tension while handcuffed together. Thus no chemistry during the sex scenes. No (instant style) relationship development. Didn't live up to "He's Mine" title either.
This one was a bit different then the first two books and it’s now my favorite in the series. Each book in this series gets better then the last. I’d love to see all the kids in the future especially Sam. 🖤🔥🚔🔥🖤
Matteo had ran away from a bad situation to hopefully live the life he always wanted. Living his new life as a mechanic he meets the cop that will change his life forever,Jude. After a rocky start they become more than a couple, they became a family.😍😍😍
Definitely my favorite book in the series!! I absolutely fell in love with Jude and Matteo, and that epilogue was perfect. I'm dying to read the next book, please be out soon
