I wasn’t a nanny. What I knew about being a nanny wouldn’t take up half a postage stamp. My idea of what nannies did came from a line my grandmother used to sing.
“A spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down, the medicine go down.”
But I was desperate for a job and I figured how hard could it be to care for one little girl.
Besides my sister’s children adored me. So I replied to the Nanny Wanted advert and, well, exaggerated a few baby-sitting stints I’d done. It worked. I got the interview.
As it turned out though, the employer was the spoon full of sugar.
Hell, I didn’t know single dads could be that hot. That man could have fit snugly inside the pages of a men’s magazine, or on a male performer line-up.
Everything about him screamed hot. And I mean everything. The hair, the eyes, the eyelashes, the jaw, the mouth, the shoulders, the abs. I could travel further down, but I think you get the picture.
However, I knew better than to sleep with the boss. That would be just plain stupid.
And I wasn’t stupid… at least not until he pressed a couple of buttons I didn’t know I had.
Things got even more complicated when his horrible ex-wife turned up.
It had potential but it was ruined for me... too much smut... minimum story. After every event, there was a smut break... They went to the park - smut, they had dinner - smut, they wore matching red clothes - smut... I would have loved less smut and more story.
I picked this up after reading No boss of mine by Iona Rose & River Laurent. I've had to go back and re-read it as I couldn't believe it was the same author. This book is just dreadful. The story line is nothing new but this doesn't try to even stick out from the crowd. There are also too many sex scenes. I realise this may not be an issue for some readers but I like there to be rounded characters and a decent story as well. I'd say that within the first 110 pages, at least 50% of the content is sex. It wouldn't so bad if they were a bit different from each other. I ended up skimming through most of the rest of the book. It had the bones of a good story, with avenues of recovering from domestic violence and abandonment which could have been used so much better. I notice that that is a 3rd book by this author which I may try (given that its currently one all in love/hate column!) but I'm not sold on it just yet. I've read authors before where one book isn't as good but it tends to be when they change the genre slightly. This is a drastic drop in quality. If you read reviews before buying, read no boss of mine instead of this one.
I loved Ella and Luke's story. Well-written with fleshed out characters who were likable. Their chemistry is over the top. Luke's young daughter was the star of the book. Both had baggage from their past which causes some turmoil and conflict. Not to mention trouble making ex's. This story is fun to read and has no shortage of steamy scenes. I read an advance copy via Bad Boy Update and voluntarily chose to write a review.
Good book. But I personally think it could have had more substance if there was less sex and more, we’ll just more of a plot. Not that I don’t love a good sex scene, but it was literally more than half of the book.
Meh, it was ok. I love the whole single parent/fall in live with nanny trope. Ive read a fee good ones and this one just lacked so much. The relationships didn’t really have much development, it was straight to the point (sex!). I really wanted to like the book and made myself finish it to see if it got better. Sadly it did not. It was terrible, but it wasn’t my cup of tea either.
I honestly was surprised at the amount of sex in this book... It probably should have been titled Sex with the Nanny.. hahahahahaha ... Seiously the storyline was ok and interesting the jest of it was > > Luke needs a nanny for his little girl, 5-year-old Molly. Although Ella has no experience at all being a nanny, she figures she has nieces so how hard can it be ... she needs a job and exaggerated her babysitting experience to make it sound like she can do what needs to be done. What really got her the job was that Luke introduced her to Molly, who hasn't smiled since the day her mother abandoned them for another man – and Molly actually smiled at her... Ella was able to reach the child emotionally when no one else could, and their affection for each other helped Molly to begin healing, and it didn't hurt that Luke was sexually intrigued with Ella. From this point the 2 could not keep their hands off one another , then the ex comes back in the picture for Luke as well as for ella and some drama takes place ... then we have the HEA .. how this book got so many 5 stars is amazing for this reader...

As Luke and Ella spend more time together, the inevitable happens and they agree to a relationship that was to be “fun” only and no emotional entanglements. They both mistakenly think that will work since Luke had his rules about women after what his wife, Penelope, did. And Ella doesn’t trust men anymore after her abusive relationship. So the “no emotions” should work just fine… maybe?
Things get very scrambled when Ella finds her ex, Stan, is out of prison and she’s not sure how to tell Luke. And Luke’s ex returns, wanting Luke back in her life no matter what she has to do to get him. Luke and Ella will have to recognize what they feel for each other and what choices they will make. Either way, there will be lots going on and they need to be prepared to deal with any dangerous situation.
This was a good story line where definite healing was taking place among all three of the main characters. But are they now strong enough to face their pasts and deal with the drama? Grab your copy and see how the story resolves now.
Ella is desperate for a job so she applies for this nanny position. When she goes in for the interview she already knows that she has to fake her experience so she can get the job. However when she see the dad sparks start flying between them. Luke was just about to send Ella packing when he gets a look at how his daughter responds to her. Since her mom left Molly has been withdrawn and hasn't spoke. But she is with Ella for a few minutes and smiles. Luke immediately hire her to be Molly's nanny. Its not long before Molly is changing back to the daughter he knew before. Soon things between him and Ella heat up. But when his ex returns and messes with how things are going it could change everything. Will Ella lose her job? Will Luke see that they are perfect together?
This is an amazing story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Single father Luke is in search of a nanny for his quiet little 5-year-old daughter Molly when he finds Ella. Ella may not have any experience as a nanny, but she and young Molly hit it off immediately and that is all Luke needs to know to give her the job. Ella and Luke decide to pursue a “friends with benefits” situation as both of them have just gotten out of bad relationships and do not want the emotional tangle of a new one. Then Stan, Ella’s abusive ex-boyfriend, is released from jail and becomes a threat to their safety so Luke works overtime to protect his family. Then Luke’s ex and Molly’s mother decides she wants to be a part of their lives again and Ella must decide if she wants to step aside or to fight for the love she has found with Luke and his sweet daughter. The story line is good, with enough drama and steamy intimacy to keep any reader on their toes. It is definitely worth the read to find out how the story ends.
Ok, please dont come for me about this review lol but here it goes....
Well I don't mind steamy sex scenes in a book, it really felt like this book was purely just sex. I don't know, maybe I missed something in the blurb that indicated this was an erotica or something but I was not prepare at all for it. This isn't usually a point of contention for me and I can generally just skim over them when it becomes too much but then I found myself skimming through 50% of the book.
Like I said it usually isn't an issue for me, especially if there is substance to the book like a great plot or riveting characters. Sadly, this book did not have any of that in my opinion. If I could sum it up in one word it would be: Mediocre. That being said, I haven't completely written off the author. I have seen other reviews about another book by this author that was better received so I will definitely give that go.
As for this book, I will have to say this is a miss for me.
Ella was desperate for a job after being made redundant from her last job. On looking at the job section she saw an advert for Nanny wanted. Ella thought it couldn’t be that hard to be a nanny. So she applied for the job and got an interview. When she arrived Luke was attracted to her and thought she would be all wrong. When they went up to see five year old Molly, Ella got her to laugh and tell her her dolls name. Luke explained that that was the first time Molly had laughed since her mother had left. Ella got the job and moved into the house. During the day she spent her time with Molly but on a night she spent her time with Luke. Things were going good until Molly’s mother came back on the scene. I couldn’t put it down. I received an ARC for an honest review which I have given
I really enjoyed reading Nanny Wanted by Iona Rose because it was such a fantastic book about Ella and Luke. Ella needed a job badly and embellished her skills a little bit when interviewing for a nanny position for Luke's daughter Molly. She got the job and slowly started changing the lives of Luke and and Molly for the better. It got a little intense when Luke's ex wife came back. I really didn't know what was going to go on. It was also very intense and suspenseful when Ella's ex boyfriend started texting her and stalking her. I love nanny and employer relationships and this one was hot and very steamy. It is a great story that will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next. I highly recommend reading it!!

This is my first novel by this author and I really enjoyed it and will definitely be reading more of her books.
Ella needs a job and is desperate so she applies for a nanny position. When she gets to the interview she sees the hot sexy single father Luke. The chemistry is undeniable but both aren't looking for anything serious. Luke was divorced and hurt after walking in on his now ex wife having sex with another man. Ella went through trauma as her ex beat her. What I loved about this book....Luke and of course and the hot sexy scenes. There was a lot of them. Great plot too. The bond between Ella and Lukes daughter Molly was sweet. What I didnt like is Luke paying his ex cheating deadbeat wife a lot of money every month. That didn't sit well with me at all thus why this book was a 4 star for me rather than a 5 star.
Is there anything particularly special about this book? It's your average boss/employee, boss/nanny book. But I loved it. Loved it. It's one of those romance books that is there for the pure entertainment value--and entertain it does. Lots of sexy times. Drama--but not over the top annoying. A fun story with some suspense elements. A cute family. Did I mention I loved it?
The relationship starts pretty quickly, so it's not a slow burn. There's a lot of sex involved but also some cute moments with Ella and Molly. I do think there needed to be more there. The book probably should have had at least ten thousand words added to the story or a couple of smut scenes taken out in place of something of more substance. Regardless, I had fun reading and am looking forward to more from this author.
Luke needs a nanny to look after his 5 year old daughter, Molly. Ella needs a job and applies to be a nanny despite having no experience. However, Molly seems to take to Ella immediately so she is hired. When Ella moves into the family home Luke finds it difficult to contain his attraction to Ella despite having had a disastrous failed marriage. Ella too is attracted to Luke despite having a failed abusive relationship that has just ended. This story was good with an ex wife and a stalker ex boyfriend thrown into the mix. But there was just far too much sex. I like hot and steamy stories but every other page seemed to include some graphic sex scene. How did they manage all that sex with a 5 year old in the house? Read an ARC for an honest review.
Luke, a self-made architect as well as a Single Father to his 5 year old Daughter Molly, are in need of help. This introverted child has shut down since her Mother walked out of her life. Ella, is starting over as a Nanny. After escaping her horrible ex, Stan, with only one friend Ruby, finds a job as Molly's Nanny. But what happens when love blooms between the two amazingly crafted characters and both of their ex's come back into the picture? Can their love survive? Find out right here, in this exquisite romance.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Nanny Wanted in exchange for my honest opinion and I highly recommend reading this release as well as Ms. Iona Rose's work as a whole.
Ella finds herself out of a job and struggling to pay her rent. After telling a few fibs on a job application she meets Luke, her new employer. There is an instant attraction between the two which they try to deny, however they eventually give in. Things are going well until Luke’s ex wife arrives back. Ella finds herself questioning what she had with Luke however what she doesn’t realise is that something from her own past comes back to haunt her - putting her in grave danger. I really enjoyed this book, you could just feel the chemistry between Luke and Ella. First time reading a book from this author, can’t wait to read more!

Making Molly smile This book is about Ella and Luke. Ella has zero nannying experience, but is desperately looking for a job. Luke needs a nanny for his young daughter Molly. It’s actually this little girl’s reaction to Ella that gets the job! And as Ella and Luke spend more time together, they consider a mutually beneficial/fun relationship. They both have trust issues so they assume it will be simple to do this while developing no deeper feelings for each other. Other dramas (from other people) complicate things for them, pushing them to perhaps admit their true feelings and decide what they really want. A Very Steamy Romance! This is a very, very, very hot and heavy storyline once Ella the Nanny and Luke the Architect discovered they were physically attracted to each other . . . at the interview. Luke has a five year old daughter, Molly who responds well to Ella so that touches Luke’s heart. But, both have baggage that threatens Ella and Molly if actions aren’t taken. Baggage = their Ex’s - Penelope and Stan. The book had a good storyline without all the steamy scenes, to which I just started skimming over about two-thirds of the way through. The creepy Stan subplot was a good one and would have been fun to see it fleshed out a little more. . . A Halloween-ish book. Peace.
Nanny Wanted kept me entertained from the first chapter until the last!
Ella was about to be put out of her apartment cause she had lost her job as a realtor, out of job options she applied for a job as a nanny with no experience, but Ella had a lot of love to share with a little five year girl who mommy walked out of her life. When Ella went for her interview she had an instant attraction to the father. Luke was a good man who was hurt when his wife walked out the door and never looked back. I liked this story because it shows how true love can conquer the fears of man and woman. Beautiful love story that keeps you entertained until the last word is read.
This very well written, Nanny Romance Book has a very good plot as well as interesting characters. These characters interactions are excellent and they have well-constructed personalities. She created a great plot and amazing cast of characters. I cannot wait to read more of this authors books. This is a must read. This has a nanny and employer relationship and this one was very hot and steamy. It is a great story that will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next.

Nanny Wanted is sexy, thrilling and intriguing. Luke is looking for a nanny for his daughter Molly. What happens when he meets Ella, the woman he is instantly attracted to? Ella and Luke have to deal with their fair share of issues, such as ex wives, ex psycho boyfriends, a daughter that doesn't communicate and just their overall feelings of relationships. Can these two overcome these challenges and love prevail? I really liked this story. The characters were great. If you are in the mood for a steamy romance then this is a must read.
”You’ve turned me from a man who was cynical about love and happiness into one who now knows that love exists.”
I’d give 3.5 ⭐️
I did enjoy the characters, writing, and what little storyline there was but there should have been more for the size of the book. I’m definitely not a prude and I like my books down and dirty but there were SO MANY sex scenes that it literally became tedious and boring. There wasn’t even any plot at all until almost 40% in just sex scene after sex scene and then when there was some plot it was still heavily separated by the sex scenes. I had to start skimming. If those could have been cut back and the plot a little more developed this could have been a 4 or 5 star book. The MCs were awesome and I loved their interaction when they were allowed to speak to one another.
If you don’t care much for plot and like your books steamy you’ll probably enjoy this. If you are more into the romance and feels like me, you may find yourself starting to skim.
Luke was in need of a nanny someone who could make a connection with his little girl. When Ella lost her job thanks to her ex she was in desperate need of a job. Embellishing her resume, she garnered an interview which led to the job. Luke didn't know how to handle his feelings for Ella. They were intense but he couldn't mess up because she was the first one to get a reaction out of his daughter, but those feelings wouldn't be denied. As he and Ella bonded, their past was making a comeback. Will their ex's get in the way of their happiness?
Ok I’m honestly not sure how to review this book. I liked it but, and I can’t believe I’m saying this but there was just too much sex. So much so it became boring and I found myself skipping the scenes to try and get to the story. If the author had spent a little more time on character and story development it could have been a really good book. I would still recommend this book. It’s it’s a relatively quick, sweet and easy read and I would read another of the authors books.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Oh I just loved this story and couldn’t wait to review. I just loved Ella , she needed a job and took the first thing that came up. Couldn’t be that hard could it!!!!! What she gets is a nanny job to Sweet Molly and her hot, sexy dad Luke. Wow, the chemistry between Luke and Ella is off the charts. They just couldn’t leave each other alone. Add to the mix two crazy exes with lies, secrets and danger, it adds to one great read. Loved it
AHHH! What a wonderful read! This book had it all: Great characters, terrific story, and wonderful writing. It’s hard to believe that Ashley and Finn would actually get together after the way their initial meeting went. The major factor was his daughter Molly’s initial and continued response to her. Sleazy Stan made for an interesting addition to the story (what a difference from Finn!) I’ll be reading more by Ms. Rose. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Nanny Wanted by Iona Rose. This is my first book from this author and I was impressed with writing style, how easy the story flowed, and the depth. Luke is a doting father and wants the best for his daughter, Molly. And the best for Molly ends up being the best for him as well. Ella is the light this family needs and she brings it in spades.
