I’m no stranger to Erik Henry Vick’s universe as I’m a fan of The Bloodletter Saga. Vick’s intriguing, ghoulish, fast-paced plot and solid characterization are as entertaining as I expected. There are ample thrills, chills, and fun to satisfy readers' appetites. The dialogue and prose generate the entertaining moments and the degree of tension best suited to launch the next twist…yet more proof of Erik Henry Vick’s storytelling expertise in the supernatural world.” --Lit Amri, Readers' Favorite Reviews ★★★★★ “I enjoyed the amalgamation of so many types of supernaturals… The banter between the characters was brilliantly executed, portraying different levels of complex relationships. Sometimes I couldn't help but grin at a well-spun conversation, let alone how the creatures' unique traits or weaknesses are evoked to further the investigation. I enjoyed the third-person narrative and how the high-pressure roles were portrayed… The characters were brilliantly portrayed.“ --K.J. Simmill, Readers' Favorite Reviews ★★★★★ “The idea that there are two simultaneous types of society working side-by-side was a fascinating premise… The characters are fully overdrawn, as is the nature in this genre, and author Erik Henry Vick has done a fantastic job of giving them real and recognizable emotions and foibles that endear them to the reader... The writing style is flowing and easy to read. If urban fantasy is your thing, this is a book you must read but even if it’s not, this is a book you should read. I did and I’m glad of it – an excellent read.” --Grant Leishman, Readers' Favorite Reviews What readers are saying about the ★★★★★ "Great riff on Law and Order!" ★★★★★ "Love Law & Order? Okay, I'll be honest. If this had not been part of Audible's Plus Catalog, I probably never would have listened to it. I was still a little luke warm on it through about the first quarter to a third of the first book. But the characters developed into more than just parodies of the names of the Law and Order characters. The mysteries in these were interesting and not easily solved. The addition of a magical court was fun, too. I saw that there were more of the series on KU. I guess that's where I'll go to keep reading these when I do.
Going into this I worried I wasn’t going to enjoy it as I am not a big Law & Order fan, only ever seen like two episodes at most, so I was hoping this was going to be a bit like Quincy Harker, Bubba the Monster Hunter and Monster Hunter International in tone. Which it kind of was but not exactly.
A fun collection of stories and even though I only listened to it because the “included until…” had appeared on my Audible App, it was enjoyable enough that I may check out the rest.
I absolutely love the concept of mixing w of my favorite things: fantasy series and Law & Order into 1 cohesive narrative. The attention to details with the names of the characters the judges is phenomenal. I will definitely be reading this series until the end.
I really loved these books. In the dark times we all have been going though,it was great to take myself to this alternate universe. I found the main characters engaging, and it was fun counting the "Law a nd Order" references.
Absolutely enjoyed This was action packed and interesting. It kept me engaged and looking for the next thing to happen. Well written and expressive. This was a fun one.
