LOVING LEX (Night of the Kings #6)
SECRETS. LIES. DECEIT. A GAME OF LUST AND BURNING PASSION.

She has a heart made for love. Falling for him is the hardest thing she’s ever done. Satisfying her is the most pleasurable thing he’s ever done. Will this be the everlasting love?

PLEASE NOTE: Although a standalone, Lex’s story includes spoilers of James’ story since it unfolds in the same world at a later date. If you wish to know the backstory of the Kings, reading James’ story (book 1-3) is highly recommended.

Most of the time, her lead men are morally gray, and her stories are slow burn and anchored in reality, making her cast authentic and unforgettable.

Her passion for the written word is only matched by her love for animals and nature.
When she's not writing, she's outside, walking and connecting with nature. She considers herself lucky to share her life with her amazing furry kids, who are very much book lovers as they are perfect companions.
Take a look at her lead men.

The Rockstar Romance bursting with emotions. The slow-burn story of
Best scene of the Series - Dahlia to Lex "GET. OUT." - Oh God I was rolling on the floor laughing my lungs out. And I was so happy with the similar kind of reaction from Ed and James. Poor Boys could barely hold back their grins, I bet they were also rolling on the floor in their mind - like me ;P Huahahahahaha!! Love you Dahlia for that.
Love the overall chemistry between Dahlia and Lex, all the hot scenes where amazing as usual. Happy to see the Happily Ever After at the end.
I guess Ed is in the queue now - something is going on in his life too as he is being nasty lately.
200% recommend this Lex series as well as James Series!
Last book of Lex and Dahlia's story. *I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was such a perfect ending to Lex and Dahlia's story! Lex is my favorite of the guys and I love how he can be so sweet and good to people, like with helping Connor. And he gives Dahlia confidence in herself and helps her be a stronger woman. I'm so glad he didn't let her run away from him and made sure she knew that he cared for her. I'm so jealous of Dahlia! Haha. And now we have to wait to read Ed's story so the guys can all be happy!
This was the perfect conclusion to Lex & Dahlias story. I've loved Lex since James story and was so happy to get see the sweetness behind the icy exterior.
This picks up right where book 2 ended, and I loved Dahlias spunk & fire. She might look timid and innocent but she won't be a doormat for any man, even Lex who is the one who sets her soul on fire. And I loved how Lex gave her what she needed exactly when she needed it because he knew how easily she got consumed by him. He actually listened to her and respected her enough to do what she asked regardless of if it hurt him or not.
My favorite part of Dahlia was her jealous streak though, it was amusing what she would say or do to mark her territory.
Now Shayne bring on my baby Eds story lol!!!
I voluntarily reviewed a advanced readers copy of this book
This is the 3rd book in Lex's story, and it picks up right where we left off...
Dahlia is trying to find herself and fix her own heart. Lex realizes that he gave Dahlia his heart and he wants her back in his life for keeps this time. But when he meets with Dahlia, she is fragile and still trying to work on herself, before she can handle more of Lex's games. But once Lex sees pictures of Dahlia all over the word with Blackmore, he has to go to her and make it right. But will it be too late? Will Conner's advice work? Has Dahlia found another? Or will they be able to get through the hard times and come out on top?
This book has a great story that continues to show strong characters and brings you along for an emotional ride through their experiences. I was cheering for Lex and then cursing him, but ultimately, Lex won me over!! The chemistry between Lex and Dahlia is unstoppable and the hot and steamy sex scenes are great! I can't wait to read Ed's story!!! He is on the brink of finding his woman and I can't wait to meet her!! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Another awesome Story Shayne, OMG Loving Lex is definitely an emotional roller coaster of a series, Again i couldn't not put it down. The story picks up form Book #5 about Dahlia and Lex. A must read, I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy.
I recommend the series, JAMES, (NIGHT OF THE KINGS, #1) starts it off form books 1-3 so you can decide for yourselves. ONE-CLICK NOW to find out how it all started
OH. MY. GOSH! FABULOUS! My dear sweet LEX, I knew he had the biggest heart! He just had to let DAHLIA have all of him. The emotions just jump off the page and made me cry & laugh & cry again. This is my most favorite book in this series! For sure A MUST READ! I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
So well written that you didn't want the story to come to an end! Loved Lex's story with Dahlia, simply the perfection that I have come to expect from all of Shayne Ford's books that I have read
LOVING LEX by Shayne Ford is book #6 in the NIGHT OF THE KINGS series. It is the third and final book in Lex's three book storyline arc. Books are not standalones and should be read in order. In this book our journey with Lex and Dahlia comes to its conclusion. What started slowly and then reached a boiling point has left our characters to deal with the realization of secrets and desires. I really liked how Ms. Ford made the characters work for their HEA. It was not an instant success. Real work and compromises were made on both sides. It was truly a joy to see both these characters grow over the coarse of these books. This is a wonderful book that is part of an amazing series. I highly recommend it for fans of complex, layered romances, that are emotionally charged and are open to gripping, raw and sometimes harsh realism. Ms. Ford's books are really about the journey to finding love. The path is not easy, smooth or even often pretty. But it is very worthwhile because in the end the characters fall in love and we fall in love with the characters. I am posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.
This is my honest review of an ARC I received. I cannot say enough about Shayne Ford, in my opinion she is one of the best authors in the United States. Lex and Dahlia's conclusion of their story was absolutely superb. A Night of the Kings novels just perfectly flow so beautifully together from one trilogy to the next. Shayne's novels just carry you along whether you want to go or not. They are so well written you have no will to stop reading further. One sentence in the novel was so beautiful that I had a tear in my eye. "To me you're like the wind, sometimes soft and caressing, other times blowing so hard you break my wings" it made my heart flutter. There are so many heart wrenching sentences like this and too many to mention. How this wonderful author can keep writing such fantastic, sexy, intriguing trilogies is beyond me.
**I received this ARC in exchange for an honest voluntary review** The conclusion of Lex & Dahlia! Picks up right where Hard Lex leaves off & the relationship hits a major speed bump but can the two repair it or will Lex truly make the worst mistake yet? Absolutely loved when he finally let his guard down, tells about his backstory & truly shows his beautiful heart. The entire trio about Lex flows together so well, even with the time hops. Loved Lex since book 1 of The Night of the Kings series but loved all characters involved throughout this trio & how in this part especially the story starts shifting to Ed's story. We even witness the wedding of James & Rain! Not as complicated as James & Rain's story but complex, profound & so realistic nonetheless. Can't wait for Ed & the woman to tame him in his upcoming trio! Would absolutely recommend this trio & the entire series! :D
This is book 6 of Night of the Kings Series and the 3rd book in Lex's story. Shayne Ford has taken these characters once again and wove real situations and emotions into a storyline that had me drawn in. She has the gift of telling a story that does not come easy, her characters face and work through situations with varying emotions that each reader will be able to identify with. In this final part of Lex and Dahlia's story, you will see them grow not only as individuals but as a couple to reach their HEA.
Her heart can want what it wants, but Dahlia needs more.
I received an Advance Reader Copy for Loving Lex, A Bad Boy Billionaire Romance (NIGHT OF THE KINGS SERIES Book # 6) written by Shayne Ford and voluntarily reviewed this book. This is the third and last book in Lex's story, and this one gives us more detail of the tug-of-war between them as they each try to make sense in their own way of exactly what they have come to mean to each other, despite the mental games they have been playing. After all, when their hearts are involved, whether they admit it or not, it is not a game any longer, and the stakes are suddenly that much higher. The only thing is, Dahlia now realizes where she stands…and she makes a decision that protects her broken heart. The ball is now really in Lex’s court, and according to a very wise, new mentee of his, he had better take action fast. Loved the ending, the supporting family characters, the cutting down of barriers erected, and the the slow-and-drawn-out courting process, which shouts “pure Lex.”
An excellent conclusion to Lex and Dahlia's story. I have really enjoyed this whole series. Love the storyline and the characters. I have enjoyed a lot of Shayne's books that I have read so far. Here's hoping Ed gets his story and can't wait to read it if he does. I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.
It was an emotional end to a crazy ride. I'm very exciting by the little snippets of Ed's life that I read and I can't wait to get stuck into his storyline. This book was fantastic.
The endless errors are unbelievable. Such as using ‘give’ when the correct word is ‘gave’. Another example: He doesn’t flinch as if we’ve never been shared a story. This line makes absolutely no sense in the context of where it is written, much less making any sense at all. I could go on endlessly about the errors, which is just wrong for an author to not care to have her work be published with minimum errors. All it would take is someone proofreading. Story: much better, as there was a storyline and less of the gratuitous racy stuff. Enough said.
I never thought Lex would end up with a woman like Dahlia. Sweet, innocent, pure. She is a woman who questions everything with very little confidence. Lex is a man who knows what he wants and takes it. He’s used to women throwing themselves at him wherever he goes. He lost his innocence a long time ago. I guess it makes sense why he would be drawn to her. She is everything he wishes he still had.
I would have liked to have seen a woman who could go toe to toe with Lex. All his games that he played, and his shut that he pulled. I hoped Dahlia would have made it a little harder for him. All in all, as much as I had hoped for a different story, this is still a good read. I hope Ed’s story is coming soon!
Loving Lex is the final book in the ''Lex - Night of the Kings" series and it is a stunner...certainly well worth the wait.
I am constantly amazed with the stories Shayne Ford delivers and Loving Lex is no disappointment - quite the opposite. It is stunning and I don't use that word loosely. The reader is immersed in a well of emotion from page 1 right up to the very end.
When Book 5 ended, Dahlia just discovered the reason Lex was unable to give her his heart. She suspected he was holding back and when Raine's sister delivered her story, Dahlia was angry and heartbroken. Her exit from the party is dramatic and sets in motion events that will propel both Lex and her to make choices - choices that protect their hearts.
You can think of 100 ways for these two lovers to come to a place of understanding, but none of them appear in this story. You can't figure it out. They work against one another and against themselves...and all the while trying to discover their truth. The story is raw...filled with love, lust, angst and immeasurable sense of loss and despair.
Will these two souls be able to find a way back to one another? The reader takes the journey with Lex and Dahlia only to experience every emotion they are feeling. This is a remarkable quality the writer possesses and conveys with brilliance. This is one of the reasons Ford's readers are so loyal. They expect quality. They demand a compelling story that is well written and one that fully engages the reader. And they want to feel what the characters are feeling and thankfully Ford never disappoints.
Loving Lex is yet another testament to Shayne Ford's ability as a writer...she delivers a high velocity story filled with every emotion dished out and her readers eat it up!
I am pleased to offer my honest review not only as a recipient of a reader copy of this book, but as the loyal and devoted fan I have become as a result of all of her stories I have read.
I wanted to go back and redo my review all the way from the first story of James but it was locked and wouldn’t let me edit so this for all of them. I at first thought these were ok and I was kinda having a love hate relationship with them. But after finishing lex, I found that I really didn’t like them at all. It got so annoying how much these girls cry. And they are extremely insecure. They also do such crazy things they seem like psychos. I mean seriously, who steels someone’s car, recks it, then acts like they are justified because they saw something they didn’t like? They are clingy too. These women have screws loose in their head. They cried so much I kept thinking they were pregnant. The men are just idiots. And the writing is not that great....the first set says that lex’s mom dies, the second said that it was Ed’s mom that died. These men are so emotionally tied together that it seems like they have romantic interests in one another. It is strange. The author did a horrible job of making them seem alpha too. She did good making them playboys though.
To sum up these books, we have playboys falling in love clingy, emotional women. The playboys are not bad boys or alpha, and the women are not sweet or strong.
OMG I love this series. Another great book by Shayne. The story continues right from where if left off in book 5. It hot and steamy and will pull on your heart strings. It's an emotional rollercoaster ride that will keep you wanting to read so you can find out what happens next. I was an emotional wreck reading this one. Some twists and turns and some was very unexpected that kept me hooked. So far there are 6 books to the Night Of The Kings series and they are all excellent. This is a series I will read again and again. I can't wait to be able to buy them in paperback.
Lex can't find Dahlia at the party, then he gets a call from the police and heads out to find her but she kicks him out! Has he already done too much damage? What did she see that made her leave? Will he win her back? Dahlia doesn't feel like she can stay anymore, she can be near him it hurts too much. But how far does she have to go to get away? Will it be a wake up call for Lex to admit her know what and who he really wants.
I got this book as an ARC in exchange for a voluntary review. Wow ! What a tear jerker ! Dahlia and Lex are a couple one minute and not the next. The author keeps the emotional roller coaster going the whole book. I couldn't put the book down as I cried for Dahlia.
Dahlia was many things. She was spineless, immature, petulant, jealous, weak, willing to settle for crumbs and not a worthy character. At least Rain became a woman, Dahlia as a heroine was pathetic.
What a great story. Loved the characters and intrigue in this book. The whole series was fantastic. The love scences were smoking hot. One of the best arc reads I've read. Great job Ms. Ford.
Beautiful and emotional read with intrigue and sizzling sex! As always Shayne has written well developed characters and storyline. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
In many ways this series made me speechless. The beginning of this story line ( JAMES ) grabs you & keeps you hooked. You really do fall in love with these bad boys when you see through all the sowing of oats . That they really are ready for the meaningless sex to be something more. Only so many times you can have sex with your buddies before the excitement & thrill is chilled.
So in walks the love of their lives one at a time. Stuck in their ways and afraid in so ways . The need & the battle start.
James well he was the thick headed one so far .. Lex learned from watching James . Therefor he was more open when his time came. Yet he still needed that extra wake up call.
I don’t like giving story lines away. So needless to say I’m not going to say much more than the author already does in the snippet .
I will tell you .. these guys are worth the read.
The details the author uses are magnificent . The visual leaves the picture like art in your mind.
❤️Dahlia & LEX ❤️
~BIBLIOPHILE SUSAN BOOKSUGARGETKISSED 📚 💋
NOTE : I do not usually go for cliffhanger books 📚 Since I have KU ...I have given in since you can wait for the whole series to be published before you read them.
That said I’m glad I go with my gut on some of these series . Especially this one ☝️.
He does not like losing. When Dahlia decided to do what was best for her, he knew she would no longer play his game. Games were what he did best without them, life was hard for him. Dahlia found out the secret between the three friends and the woman who hurt him. She knew she could not handle their secrete. Pulling away from him was extremely difficult, but she moved on. Lex could not handle her decision. The journey he went through to understand what he need to get her to come back to him.
It took a very young man to teach Lex what women want to enjoy a relationship.
In my review of the previous book, Dark Lex, I identified the flaws in both Lex and Dahlia that were starting to irritate me and hoped they'd both progress past them in the final volume. Thankfully, this is what occurred in this last book of their story. Dahlia regains her backbone and Lex gets real about his feelings for Rain.
This was a highly satisfactory ending to an overall good story. Can't wait to learn what occurs with Ed.
Like the first parts of Lex & Dahlia's story, this was a good ending. It was a good story overall. I just don't like trying to read a book where I'm not sure whether the author writes in a "disjointed" style (where thoughts expressed are not written as they would normally be spoken aloud) or whether this was a book thrown together by notes & short on editing. The plot was good but delivery, as well as editing, was lacking.
