The world's only manticore has gone missing. Caroline and her friends will do whatever it takes to get him back.

When FPAA Agent Greg Barnett tells Caroline that he's been talking online to someone who claims a familial relationship, she thinks it smells fishy. She warns him not to do anything foolish, and when he doesn't turn up for work one morning, she knows she was right. Confirmation comes almost immediately from a techno-savvy friend, which puts the machinery of the entire Agency into motion.

As Caroline, her vampire partner Darien, and her friend Lucas race through several states trying to find their missing friend, secrets get revealed, and a plot is uncovered that puts all the cases she's solved into a new perspective. Greg's disappearance is only the tip of the iceberg, and the entire country- paranormal and human- is in danger.

Fighting Fire is the sixth book in the Federal Paranormal Activities Agency series. If you like urban fantasy adventures with a little snark and not a lot of angst, then you'll love this series where a not quite perfectly normal girl finds friends, adventure, and a whole lot of paperwork in the strangest internship ever. Buy this book to find out what happens to Caroline today!

Katherine Kim is a lifelong lover of fantasy. She started early, being read Tolkien as bedtime stories, which honestly explains a lot. More recently she’s been drawn to more urban fantasy stories through both books and television, and reading continues to be a passion. She lives and writes in Tokyo, with her family, a number of miniature giant robots, and not nearly enough coffee...

The Good Guys: Not Species Specific

This is the final (or, hopefully, latest) in the Federal Paranormal Activities Agency series. They need to be read in order. It’s the sort of series you finish and start over again immediately. The acknowledged universe consists of Elves and Humans. After an earlier war, other paranormals concealed themselves. Not easy for a seven foot troll to do.

The series is written from Caroline’s point of view. Caroline is human - but hears intent, dishonesty, or other qualities in speech. She works part-time at the agency while attending college. Her honorary older brothers are a vampire and a manticore. Like the rest of the paranormals in the series, they are nothing like they are usually portrayed.

This book begins when the manticore disappears. He was created in a lab, tortured and experimented on as a child. The woman who acted as his mother sacrificed her life to save him. A woman who says she is the sister of this woman emails him and he goes to meet her. The Agency looks for him.

I loved this book and the series. Originally, I read this using Kindle Unlimited. I liked it enough to buy the series.

This series has so much potential! I love a good, clean, paranormal Scully/Mulder crime fighting duo, and we could have that here... if it was edited. The banter is good, the plot mechanisms are just different enough to stick out of the urban fantasy landscape, but the "oh, remember that thing we looked at two chapters ago that was obviously a clue?" is too obvious and the voice-to-text word switches and dropped words really bother me. When this is edited, I will read it again and give them all five stars. How do I volunteer to help edit?

It is impossible to review just one book i n this series.

When I started to read the first book in this series I couldn't put it down! So of course that led to read second book and so on. I would highly recommend the entire series to both adults and teens who enjoy fast paced action and humor. READ THE WHOLE SERIES. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG!

Fun series

Interesting series about a young woman finding out about paranormals and becoming an agent for a paranormal agency. The plot and subplots move quickly. The characters have been growing and evolving during the series. I hope to read new adventures and see where Caroline ends up.

Read the series

Loved the whole series. Really lightened up my stay in bed. You do need to find a new proofreader. There are way to many misspellings and grammatical errors. Other than that loved them.

Great book!

I was thrilled to find this series. I am a new fan of the author and can’t wait to read the other books and stories she has written. I truly did enjoy reading the series starting with the prequel. You won’t go wrong reading any of these books!

Story is excellent, flows well, and the ending was excellent.
Katherine needs a slightly better text review to get rid of misspelled words, and continuity reviewer to catch a character killed off in last books was now alive and in prison.
These did not detract from the story.
Enjoyed it.

Great book.

I enjoyed this book very much. Caroline and company were amazing, using spells and tastes to take down the bad guys. I would recommend this book to anyone.
