Not a bad comic, but it lacks some of the emotional punch I've come to expect from Life is Strange.
Art and writing is still amazing, but the story is a little...filler-ish? There wasn't a lot going on other than build-up to something bigger. Also, it's a pretty short volume.
So I'm hoping that vol 5 will be THICK and the final volume in the series, maybe with openings for a few short stories told afterwards, but no big over-all story-ARC.

(Two versions of the same book on GR = Me posting the same review twice)

A phenomenal volume! So this new series picks up right where Life Is Strange Vol. 3: Strings left off, with Max, Cloe and Rachel going on a road trip across America, while the original Cloe from Vol 1, is traveling on the same route in another timeline simultaneously.

I honestly forgot about how good the writing is from Emma Vieceli, who writes a phenomenal story every time! She just gets these characters down to a T and these comics feel like a perfect sequel to the original game! The artwork and coloring as well is absolutely beautiful with some truly breathtaking panels that just had me gush over them!

The story also goes to some interesting places, especially with that last issue! It makes me want the next issue NOW! But overall, another solid volume and if your a Life is Strange fan, this series is worth picking up!

Tracks is a great and emotional continuation of the story that's developed so far. This comic series has integrated itself almost seamlessly into the universe of Life Is Strange and captures most of the hallmarks that have made the game memorable and fun to play. I am still enjoy this series very much, and the quality of it has overall been top-notch so far.

It keeps getting better and better.
Max and Rachel’s friendship is so beautiful and I love that it has been developed in these comics. The way they both talk about their own Chloe and understand each other’s feelings makes me want to cry so bad, they’re too precious. I hate that Max won’t be able to be with her anymore once she’s back to her reality, but I really appreciated the fact that they got to meet and live together for a bit in the other one. Those memories will stay with them forever, across time and multiple realities. Plus, now Max will have the chance to share the grief for Rachel with her Chloe on a much deeper level. Which is both a good and a bad thing, but at least Chloe won’t be carrying that burden by herself. Her SuperMax will always be there for her.
The way Max and Chloe are in the same places in different realities in this issue, desperately looking for each other and trying to make it through the door that’s keeping them apart makes my Pricefield heart ache. I can’t wait to see them being finally reunited.
Loved the LIS 2 easter egg with Brody in this issue!
I can’t believe I only have two left to read. I wish this story never ended.
Millions of kudos to the authors again.
Onto issue #5 now!

Three days ago I found out that this existed and here am I today, having read all of it. Heck. Amazing series. I am a big fan of the games and I was delighted to find details linking 1 and 2 together. The art is beautiful and the characters transcend the art form - they're as nice and interesting to watch here as they were in the game, maybe even more so. I'm overwhelmed by how happy this has made me.. in some way. The reality is that it's kind of heart-wrenching... especially because it made me think about my personal parallel realities. Oh well... Can't wait for the next issue.

This one was a little bit harder to follow than the other volumes, but I still really liked it. I'm so sad it's going to be so many months until I can get my hands on more of this series.

Two universes, one love

It’s been a while since I last read something outside of school, but the second set of the Life is Strange graphic novels had been sitting on my shelf, waiting far too long. Diving back into this universe, I was immediately grateful for the recap at the start. Especially with a story as complex as this, spanning two universes. I needed that refresher, and it made slipping back into the narrative so much easier.

From the very first pages, I was just as invested as I was with the first set of graphic novels. One of the biggest surprises for me in this series has been It adds such a unique emotional depth to the story.

I’m curious to see how Max will eventually There’s no duo quite like Max and Chloe, and this volume only reinforces that.

A small but intriguing detail that I hadn’t noticed before:

Another highlight was the cameo from

Overall, I read this with so much excitement and curiosity. This series continues to deliver on emotional storytelling, gorgeous artwork, and thoughtful character dynamics. I can't wait to see how everything unfolds next!

Of the four volumes of Life is Strange so far, this is the most successful. I feel just uncertain enough about the ending that I'm waffling between 3 stars (kinda my true feeling at the end) and 4 stars (how I felt through most of the volume), but regardless of which rating I opt for, it does feel like the Life is Strange comic series has finally found a groove.

With our canon Max in an alternate timeline (one where Rachel is alive and dating Chloe), and her friend from that alternate timeline, Tristan, now in her original timeline (with Chloe, who is dating canon Max), the pieces feel like their coming together to finally turn everything right. To do that Max decides to go on a roadtrip with Chloe and Rachel (the latter, an actor, is in some kind of traveling play) who are essentially following The High Seas on tour. This is, obviously, a recipe for fun, but also essential as her timeline's Chloe (with Tristan) are also going on tour with The High Seas, and proximity to Chloe seems essential to fixing everything.

In the process we get some nice recurring glimpses of Rachel's acting acquaintances (see: play) who add a bit of chaos to the whole ordeal. (Both timelines get these characters, where the run-ins feel more random, but also a bit more meaningful as Tristan ends up flirting with one of the dudes in a very cute way.)

It's all chaos, but mostly endearing. The best is when everyone from both timelines end up in some Wild West tourist attraction. The timeline without Max (Chloe/Tristan) end up dressing up as, like, Western characters. The timeline with Max (Chloe/Rachel) decide to dress up as pirates. It's hilarious, and very on-brand, and yeah the constant flipping between timelines is confusing as hell (and I'm not entirely convinced the writers knew what was going on more than I did lol), but it's just fun you know?

The ending scene, on the other hand, was confusing, conceptually annoying, and distinctly "not fun." I won't get into details (endings—even of mid-series volumes—are always a spoiler), but suffice to say v.5 is gonna have a lot of heavy lifting to do clarify and rescue that event.

Anyway, if you've read the first three volumes, you already know you're reading this one. It's more of the same, just with a bit of a better balance between the two timelines.

My review
Tristan has ended up in the original Chloes timeline after Max couldn't get though.
Max, Chole and Rachel are on A hiking walk.
In the universe where Chloe and Tristan are: Chloe and the high seas go on A hiking trail the same one where Chloe , Max and Rachel went to. Chloe and the high seas find Lawrence has fallen from A cliff and are trying to help him. Tristan awakes to Lawrence's friends Trying to get help. Tristan is confused where he is and where Max Is.
In the universe of Max Chloe and Rachel they go on A Trail walk where they are then joined by the actors doing the hamlet play but Ophelia falls of the cliff but Max rewinds time to save him and takes the pictures instead.
They all end up at the same place.
In one universe Chloe, Max and Rachel dress up as pirates.
Tristan and Chloe and the high seas dress up as pirates but Tristan struggles to join in due to not being around people much.
Chloe sees Victoria Chase they have A chat and Victoria makes Chloe and the high seas have A watertight to which Chloe writes A letter/note to Max how she felt Max there thats because Max, Chloe and Rachel along with the Hamlet actors are also having A water fight.
The high seas mini van crashes after being hit by A tree in A storm. Tristan reaches out to tell Max to stop the rewind after they flicker into one timeline but Max was to late. After Max rewinding the mini van makes it unhurt.

My thoughts:
A very good comic, fast paced. Very good graphics and story. Perfect if your A life is strange fan.

I have not read any of the previous graphic novels of Life is Strange but there is a section at the beginning that tells you what happened previously which I thought was a great help, it also covered who was in Max and Chloe's universe and who was in Chloe and Rachel's universe, you really need to look at this as it gives a short description of each character.

Life is Strange Vol 4 is set in two timelines, Max's and Chloes, Max is trying to get back to the same timeline as Chloe, which seem almost parallel to one another, they go to the same places and can feel each other but it is proving difficult, so close but so far away.

This was interesting to me, I liked how they both ended up in the same place but different worlds and was hoping that the worlds would collide and they would be back with each other. The High Seas band were as I would have expected a band of their age to be depicted.

The artwork is fantastic, each scene was drawn perfectly with so much detail that I knew where they were, I really liked at the end of the book there was a section that showed cover development stages from sketch to cover with descriptions and also character sketches.

Overall I was a little confused to start with but once I got into it it was great. I think reading the previous volumes would be better than jumping into this one first. I will definitely be grabbed the previous volumes so I can catch up properly.

HOLY COW! WOAH! This is probably my most favourite one so far! This comic is a definite re-read for me! WOW, JUST WOW!

TRISTAN AND CHOLE! IN THE ORIGINAL UNIVERSE! YES! THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR! WHAT MY HEART NEEDED!
Seeing how Chloe has hope that Max is truly alive and is actively trying to make her way back to her. How her efforts to get Max back to her, are working! It is heartwarming to see!

The pirate cowboy section was SUPER FUN! There were flickers! As well as old faces! VICTORIA CHASE! I didn't think I would see her again, and I am so glad I did! It is also nice to see her and Chloe getting along!

The way Max and Chloe are still MAX AND CHLOE! EVEN IN ANOTHER UNIVERSE! They are in sync. Doing the same things, thinking and saying the same things. They are still connected, even between worlds, with only their feelings to confirm that!

THE TREE CRASH! WHAT AN EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER! Tristan jumped between worlds, and Max accidentally rewound it. HER REALISATION WAS SOMETHING! AND THE FACT TRISTAN PHASED OUT AGAIN! NO ONE COULD SEE HIM UNTIL THE END! I AM LOSING MY MIND!

Chole's crash out! Going to be honest... I saw that one a mile away - she always has a reaction like this. It was expected

AND! She mentioned Warren! WARREN GRAHAM MENTION!!!

Also, can we talk about TRISTAN AND LAWRENCE! THE CHEMISTRY IS THERE. IT IS 100% REAL! Lawrence is a sweetie, as is Tristan and they would be PERFECT for each other! I just hope they both see that!

Onto reading the rest!

I've been hugely enjoying this series so far, but Partners in Time - Tracks started to feel like it's spinning its wheels a bit more than I was looking for.

There are still some great moments, particularly some meaningful and interesting conversations Max, Chloe, and Rachel find themselves in, but there's too much filler. The various stops on the trio's road trip didn't grab my attention, Tristan's power still feels a little too driven by the plot and not his own actions, and the expanding cast of side characters aren't fleshed out enough. There are a couple nods to Life is Strange 2, if that's your thing, but they seemed like they might feel out-of-place if I wasn't familiar with that game. With two road trips hitting the same spots at the same time, I also found it just a little too difficult to quickly tell what was happening where. I like that the series hasn't held my hand too much in general, but a little clearer signposting here would've been helpful.

That all being said, most of the art and writing is still a cut above what you find in most videogame comics. I'm still generally engaged in the story, and looking forward to seeing how it concludes in the final eight issues.

Honestly I think this is the weakest in the series so far, but-

WE GOT TO SEE BRODY!!!

(Seeing him pop up from LiS2 made me happy 🥲 Will the Wolf Brothers make a small appearance?)

Anyway, this volume felt really slow (kinda like filler? But I know plot stuff happened...it felt like wading through mud to get there). I also don't think they are differentiating the 2 timelines enough. I think they should have changed the borders or given Chole highlights. I can tell the difference from context, but different panels or borders would really help because the timelines are starting to mirror each other closely and we will be in one timeline and then all of a sudden another.

Idk.

The art keeps getting better!! The first chapter on the hike were beautiful. The outfits as usual slayed 😍 but but but but I still dislike the faces.

Looking forward to finishing out the series with only 2 more volumes to go!!
