The Luke Bright Series comes to its thrilling conclusion! In a world where prejudice continues to thrive, step into a book series where one young man is standing up against it. Now more than ever, we need to stamp out the prejudice and injustice that divides us and change the world for the better. This is the series that'll show you how to.
“What if the home I have in my desires isn’t the home that I need it to be? What if the person I am now can’t fit back into being the person I was before?”
After nearly two years on the run in the USA, Luke Bright is finally getting his chance to go back home to the UK. The chance to reunite with his family is too overpowering, even though his home country declared him a murderer and a heretic. That means he’ll be returning as a fugitive.
Leaving behind his many lives and friends in the USA proves to be the most heart-wrenching thing Luke has had to do. These people who protected him, saved him and loved him when he was completely isolated –– can he really just leave all that behind and forget it when he goes home? Especially since so much has changed since Luke was last in the UK.
When Luke returns home, corrupt police officer Marco Brown is still hunting him and won’t stop until Luke is behind bars for the rest of his life. With the help of some old faces, the reason why Marco hates Americans finally comes to light and it’s more shocking anyone could imagine. With a life in jail looming, will Luke’s allies be able to finally prove his innocence and uncover the secrets that could end his ordeal?
I've read all four Luke Bright books now, and I've really enjoyed the series. Luke is a really interesting main character and I've loved reading his journey.
This book, like the others before it, doesn't really conform to just one genre, and that is what makes it as good as it is in my opinion. Also makes it hard sometimes to explain to other people!
I think this book is worth reading if you're a fan of anything coming-of-age, but it's also got strong elements of legal dramas, thrillers, conspiracy (like Da Vinci code, not flat earthers!), and even romance.
Obviously I'd recommend reading the first book in the series if you haven't!
