“What a great book! Captivating all along! It provides really helpful tips on how to change your sleeping habits for better health and I loved the balance between scientific information and personal stories. I found it especially fascinating to read about the impact of hormones and food intake on our sleep. It is a very inspiring guide from an author who really knows what it is to struggle with sleep. I already know whom I am going to gift this book to!” ~ RENEE C LEBOEUF, PhD, Emeritus Research Professor of Medicine, University of Washington “I've read a lot of sleep books! A fresh outlook on an old problem of lack of sleep. This book addresses insomnia as more that a medical problem and e,Plaines how to overcome insomnia and when to seek medical help with insomnia.
What if you could sleep better, lose weight, and improve your overall health and fitness? Well, this book is just the thing.
It details the importance of sleep and what it can do for you. It even correlates how sleep and tiredness affect your weight. The lack of sleep leads to poor choices. Being tired means you exercise less, which can lead to weight gain. There are many benefits to exercise, one of which is that it makes you tired so that you’ll more than likely fall asleep.
Book has some useful data and thought-provoking insight. It goes on and on about the effects caused by lack of sleep (stroke, heart attack, diabetes,) which is backed up by research and data. Great. We know how sleep is important, but how do we get that sleep? There’s more to that question in chapter 2.
The information is very detailed, which is good but not always helpful. It seemed to deal more with the science of sleep. What I particularly found the most helpful was the 5 best ways of getting sleep, and exercise was one of them. I especially liked the 25 examples at the end—the 25 reasons why you don’t get sleep and what to do about it.
Even though a lot of this can be easily researched online, this book is quite helpful and motivating.
