Elf Pixie Ribbed Balaclava Knitting Pattern
This easy step by step knitting pattern will help you make the ultimate winter balaclava! A balaclava is a hat and a scarf, two in one. It will stay put, it will keep the ears covered at all times and it will also keep the neck warm without adding a bulky scarf that needs to be tied around the neck.
The pattern is for 0-6m, 6-12m, 12-24m, 2-4 years and 4 years to teen (that size will fit most adults too - it will stretch to fit up to 60cm / 23.6in heads!).
You will need Worsted weight yarn, knitting needles to obtain the gauge (for most, 4.5mm / US7 needles work the best), a tapestry needle.
Please check the recommended needle size on your yarn label and make your gauge sample to make sure you end up making a hat that really fits!
A part of the balaclava is knit and a part of it is knit in the round – you will need knitting needles for knitting in the round.
