There ought to be laws against what happened to that wedding cake, abandoned or not. Sure, it was sexy, good fun of the dirtiest variety, but it was the kind of mistake career-minded wedding planner Laine Malone won’t repeat. At least not until next Saturday when she’s once again face-to-face with Jason Henley, the bossy, all-trouble hotel owner who won’t settle for just one night.

Before there was Mira Lyn Kelly, there was Moira McTark and a handful of sizzly stories that started my career. By reader request, a few of those stories have been expanded, re-edited, and updated to first person POV... and re-released as the Coming Around Again series.

**All In was previously released as part of the Sin & Tonic anthology (out of print).

Hard core romantic, stress baker, and housekeeper non-extraordinaire, Mira Lyn Kelly is the USA TODAY bestselling author of more than a dozen sizzly love stories with over a million readers worldwide. Growing up in the Chicago area, she earned her degree in Fine Arts from Loyola University and met the love of her life while studying abroad in Rome, Italy… only to discover he’d been living right around the corner from her back home. Having spent her twenties working and playing in the Windy City, she’s now settled with her husband in rural Minnesota, where their four amazing children and two ridiculous dogs provide an excess of action and entertainment. When she isn’t reading, writing, or running the kids around, she loves watching the Chicago Blackhawks and action/adventure movies, blabbing with the girls, and cooking with her husband and friends.

“What can I say? I’m all in.”
I have been looking forward to this all week and couldn't have been happier to get my pre-order on my Kindle this morning - even if I had to put it down to get to work. Because... life.
This is one of Mira's re-releases. I haven't read the first book.

This is a standalone novella, but I'm glad I read Just Friends before this one, and that I got to know Nikki and Matt - no worries if you haven't (but you should! *grins*)

Jason is the owner of one of the best hotels in town. Laine is the wedding planner who goes to his hotel to make sure everyone has their happiest day all worked out and ready to go - as much as possible, anyway.

So, two people. They work together, and there's no way they can't because one of them works at the other's hotel. So they bump into each other a lot, and there's definitely an attraction, something beneath the surface. Turns out they acted on it, two years ago, but it wasn't enough for either of them.

And then... cake! Yes, it's not a typo - CAKE. A delicious, beautiful, four-story wedding cake sets this story back on track and gets them back on track. And oh, it's good, and it's sexy, and it's as romantic as you'd expect.

"I’m struck by what a waste of time it all was."
At the end of the day, I feel this is a story about lost time. Sometimes if something just feels right, then it may just be, so go get it. And yes, by all means, go all in.

Book 2 in the Coming Around Again series and can be read as a standalone. You don’t have to read Just Friends to be able to read this story but you won’t regret it if you read that book as well. All In was a fun and quick story that packs plenty of steam. Jason and Laine were so much fun. They had a love-hate relationship and it was a fun ride watching them straddle that line. All she wanted was to work with him and nothing else but love had other plans. Some small bumps will try to derail their relationship but that won’t change how they feel towards each other or does it? Fun read that shouldn’t be missed.

All In is the second book in the Coming Around Again duet. A total standalone novella. I just discovered Mira myself this year so haven’t had the chance to read her backlog but when I saw she is re-publishing this one, I had to have it.

Two years. They met two years ago. Her as a wedding planner and him as the owner of the exclusive Henley Hotel. They have been working together ever since. Colleagues to friends. To almost more to go back to being friends. He doesn’t want to mix business with pleasure and she figured it was for the best. He was a relationship guy and she loved love. She wanted to find a forever guy. And just because he makes butterflies go crazy within with every wink, smile, and wave it doesn’t mean anything. He flirts with everyone, right?

Then cake happened. Delicious wedding cake. It changed everything with one taste. Now, she doesn’t know what is happening but he sure the hell does, he won’t let her go again.

Aw! This is a fast-paced sweet, sexy, and tasty story. The characters are lovable, passionate, and adorable. And it totally makes me want to read, Just Friends, the first book and Laine’s best friend’s story.

Quotes:

This man is insufferable. Cocky. Arrogant. And capable of affecting me in ways I wish I could ignore. Ways I hope to hell he doesn’t notice.

“You’re sure—absolutely sure—there isn’t a thing I can do for you?”

Reviewed on my blog, Becky on Books, on 10/26/2020.

All In is a sweet and sexy (and the scene with the cake is both!) novella and the second in a series but it worked just fine as a standalone. At the start of the story, Laine and Jason have been working together for some time already--and dancing around doing more for almost as long--so when they go from zero to a hundred in just a few pages (did I mention cake?), it's not totally unbelievable.

Jason commits to being "all in" after a fairly short amount of time, and Laine follows soon after, and sexy cuteness abounds!--but of course they're heading for the dreaded black moment, even if *they* don't realize it, the readers do. Jason had already shown an unfortunate tendency toward not always being the best communicator, so that's a big part of it, but fortunately things are resolved in a believable way that leaves the reader with all the feels.

Plus a strange craving for cake...

Besides Laine and Jason's relationship, some of my favorite bits are the LOL moments during some of the weddings they work together on--be warned, and drink beverages while reading at your own risk! ;)

All In is the second book in the Coming Around Again series by the talented Mira Lyn Kelly. I’m a new-ish fan of Mira's and have read all her most recent books, but I've been meaning to get to her previous titles and this was the perfect time. It's a re-release and it's ohhh so good! It's steamy and sweet and fun! Jason and Laine have been dancing around each other for years. The attraction is there, but neither one wants to act on it. Until one cake mishap and the clothes go flying! Turns out they are on the same page and really want to be together. But a miscommunication could tear them apart. Will Jason go all in and win his woman back? Yes! I loved these two. It's a feel good, sexy romance that made me laugh, tear up and want cake!

I absolutely loved this book. I had no idea that Mira Lyn Kelly had published under another name earlier in her career, so I’m glad she decided to update and re-release it. From the very first page I was hooked on this tale of two people who are meant to be, even if they are stuck in a love/hate relationship at the moment. Laine and Jason were both such likable characters, and I was only sorry that the book didn’t last longer. I would have loved to have spent more time with them. This is such a sweet and sexy story and I enjoyed every word. Definitely recommended.

Great short story. It’s book two of a series but you don’t need to read the first to enjoy this one. It might help you like other characters in the book more, but I guess I’ll find out after I read book one. I enjoyed the characters, their personalities and understood some of the choices they made.
The story left me smiling, loving the characters and their relationships as well as hoping I get glimpses of them in other books by the author.

An ARC was received in exchange for my honest review.

A follow up to Just Friends, this quick rom com is about a wedding planner and a hot hotel owner. Laine has been working her dream job wedding planning at one of the best hotels, but after a disaster of a wedding hotel owner Jason comes to the rescue….only he wants to make sure he’s the only one that Laine needs. These two have so much chemistry you could feel it. Loved them!

But, oh, the cake scene....

Great enemies-to-lovers romance. Wedding planner Laine and boutique hotel owner Jason can't seem to help pushing each other's buttons. Great push-pull with underlying sexual tension, that settles into a hot romance with some nice depth, and a very satisfying wrap up. I do hope Dil gets a book!

This is a really good, quick story. I really liked both Jason and Laine. They have been frenemies for a while. They keep circling around each other, never quite going for it until one night changes everything.

I did not read book one and did not feel like I was missing anything.

This was such a complete story for being on the shorter side. It never felt lacking on detail or history. I adored these two! Poor Jason went through the ringer, you can't help but feel for him. The ending was just perfect.

This is a good novella but left me wanting to know more about the characters and what's happened in their pasts as it only touches on past events.
Saying that it is a hot funny story of friends to lovers with eventful weddings thrown in!
