A.K. Evans is a contemporary romance author of over twenty published novels. While she enjoys writing a good romantic suspense novel, Andrea’s favorite books to write have been her extreme sports romances. That might have something to do with the fact that she, along with her husband and two sons, can’t get enough of extreme sports.

Before becoming a writer, Andrea did a brief stint in the insurance and financial services industry and managed her husband’s performance automotive business. That love of extreme sports? She used to drive race cars!

When Andrea isn’t writing, she can be found homeschooling her two sons, doing yoga, snowboarding, reading, or traveling with her family. She and her husband are currently taking road trips throughout the country to visit all 50 states with their boys.

It wasn't an Oops but she definitely did it again! A.K Evans brings us back to Windsor to hang out with the guys from Cunningham Security and she manages to gives us all the feels all over again. These men will make you swoon.

Delaney and Trent were high school sweethearts until her father stepped in and made life not so sweet for Delaney. Life was one struggle after another until years later when Delaney runs into Trent. Now here she is a single mom, working to make ends meet, struggling with her ex, and desperate for Trent to give her the chance to explain what happened back in high school.

This book is a roller coaster of emotions, get ready for the ride!

First things first

This author always receives an extra star for every story I read because of other author drama.

I'll be the first to admit I have more than my fair share of petty, but it isn't pettiness to reward authors that write original work while one starring the bejesus out of the sad almost plagiarized attempts.

All that being said, Unworthy was somewhat of a rarity in that it is a second chance romance that wasn't a wallbanger for me. It's a trope I struggle with. At no point during the reading was my Precious* in any danger.

*My Kindle's name. Don't judge.

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH ONE OF A VARIETY OF SOURCES. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

Every time I pick up this author's books, I know that I'm in for an enjoyable read and this installment was no exception to that!

I loved that this was a second chance romance! I understood what Delaney did as a teenager, but hated how whiney she became as an adult when it came to "being unworthy" of Trent! Trent also acted like a jerk about the situation too, due to his own feelings of unworthiness. As adults, things were better, save for the aforementioned whiney times. They were very changed by their life choices, which made them more mature and a better fit for each other. This reminded me very much of my own romance with my current husband!

The plot was engaging and flowed well, making for a quick read! I would definitely recommend this to others!

I’m really enjoying watching the guys from Cunningham Security find and fall for their girls. Altho they’re all different characters they all have that honour and integrity plus they’re total Alphas. Watching as Trent and Delaney rekindled their relationship was emotional and heartwarming at the same time. I was really in the dark as to where Ms Evans was taking us but the journey was beautiful and so compelling I couldn’t put the book down! I loved the guys all rallying round each other and then catching up with all the couples and getting glimpses of their lives. Once again this author weaves a magical tale of love and redemption that was a privilege to read. Can’t wait for the last of the guys to find love now too

Delaney and Trent were each other’s first loves, but necessary lies and hurt broke them apart far too soon. Imagine Trent’s surprise when he helps a baby one day, only to find that the mother of said baby is his once love and now painful memory, Delaney. Delaney is no less stunned, but she hopes that she can find a way to make Trent listen to her apology, and maybe believe that she truly did what she thought was best to save the boy she once loved. Of course, the boy became the man who proves time and again that he’ll do anything to make Delaney happy and safe once she finally makes him listen to her explanation.

Between some bitter battles and some heartbreaking reunions, Delaney and Trent find their way to the happiness that they were meant to have. Their story is low on unnecessary drama, high on love and emotion and realistic feelings, and altogether perfect for them and the love they’re both worthy of having.

I don't think I was ready for just how amazing 'Unworthy', by A.K. Evans, really was. While it is Book Six in the Cunningham Security series, it can totally be read as a stand alone novel. 'Unworthy' is a second chance romance story that was beautifully written; I went through such an array of emotions throughout the course of reading this book. I completely fell in love with main characters Trent and Delaney. While the reasoning behind their separation was unfortunate and devastating for both characters, I loved the way in which they fell back in to each others lives.

This book is a must read, and while I noted that it can be read as a stand alone novel, I 100% recommend reading all books in the series.

'Unworthy' is a 5-star worthy book from the first to the last page. Thank you A.K. Evans for giving us this amazing, and gripping, story!

This is the 6th book in this awesome series, and is Delaney and Trent’s story. These two were high school sweethearts, until they are cruelly torn apart by other influences. Now 15 years later fate brings them back together, but will they get a 2nd chance? No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster journey throughout. I look forward to reading more from this gifted author.

Unworthy By A.K Evans is the sixth book of The Cunningham Security series and It can be read stand-alone. I am honoured to review this book as this is the first book I have read from this author.

"Sometimes your first loves need a second chance."

This quote by the author does all justice for this book.

Unworthy is a story of Delancey and Trent who was in a sweet amazing relationship in their teen years. For Trent, Delancey was everything. It was like she owns every breath he breathes. Trent was the same for Delancey. Her amazing friend, Boyfriend, Her love. Her everything. Every teenager believes that they are going to live and cherish their first love whole their life and everyone knows that's not true (at least for most people). Somehow, they also have to face reality.

Well, the same happens with Trent and Delancey. Delancey broke the heart of Trent in a very cruel way which she had to do and Trent was not the same after that.

After fifteen years they meet again in a very unusual way where Trent is saving the life of the baby, to be specific, Delancey's baby. This is the chance for them to reunite but let's just say things were not appropriate. Delancey is facing a Divorce with her husband where she is also facing the matter of custody of her child whom she loved with all her life. not just that but she is also dealing with the matter of her father. Trent was always there with her, helping her facing all the problems standing right next to her, always supporting her.

Though she believes that she is Unworthy of the love he is giving her because of how she had broken his heart.

Quite a sweet romance book was written by the author. I always loved the First love books. You might see some characters from the books earlier in the series but Hopefully, you'll get to understand those scenes. I loved how the author had shown us a glimpse of the story from their past. simply loved this book and if you are into second chance romance book with their very first sweetheart then must read it.

Oh my heart! The sixth installment of the Cunningham Security series by AK Evans focuses on a couple's second chance at love. It is at turns heartwrenching and heartwarming. Trent Michaels is intelligent, driven, and incredibly sexy, and Delaney Rogers is the one that got away - a beautiful single mom determined to provide for her young son and praying for the opportunity to make things right. When an emergency situation throws them back together after 15 agonizing years, the sparks fly in more ways than one. Another fantastic read from Ms. Evans!

UPDATE: I can say with absolute certainty that Trent Michaels is one of my all-time favorite AK Evans heroes. And as a self-proclaimed Evans ambassador, that's saying something. As such, I've read this book roughly 10 times in the last couple of years, but even that did not prepare me for the absolutely phenomenal audiobook performance by narrators Aaron Shedlock (one of my FAVES) and Vanessa Edwin. In fact, I was so enthralled that I listened to the entire story in one sitting. No regrets whatsoever. I giggled, I "awwwed," I sniffled, I cried. Worth every second of it!

Trent Michaels is the “computer guy” at Cunningham Security but will go into the field whenever necessary. He has helped people in so many instances but has never asked for anything himself. When he saves the life of a young boy at the café he doesn’t think anything about it until he discovers who the mom is.

Delaney Rogers has gone through her fair share of ups and downs but she has finally begun living for herself and her son, Tate, and not for anyone else. She would protect Tate with everything she has and has made some life changing decisions in order to get him the safest life possible.

When Delaney discovers it was Trent that saved her son’s life she is shocked to see her first love and the man she treated horribly so many years ago. Is Trent willing to listen to Delaney and hear why she broke his heart so cruelly so many years ago?

Do Trent and Delaney have a chance to find that once in a lifetime love again or will everything be stacked against them once again?

Even though I really love Trent’s character this was not one of my favorite books in this series.

I love Trent and was super excited for his story but I found this one lacking a lot of excitement and back to book one with more sex than story. I was happy he was still on the computer a little bit in this book but the mysteries that surrounded some of the previous book was definitely lacking in this book.

Delaney was a strong character who obviously learned to put herself first through the years and she had grown a lot from when she was a teenager to where she was now. I was proud of her for her decisions but she had a lot of explaining to do to make Trent understand why she did what she did.

The book had some conflicts in it but it really lacked any mystery and it instead filled the book with a lot of sex scenes. I have no problem with characters having sex but when half the book is sex it just gets a little much and I want more of the mystery that you expect from a book with a Security agency.

I liked that there was a lot of resolution in this book and making amends and for the most part everything seemed to come easily once certain things got started. There was no real suspense in this book and everything went along happily with some minor bumps in the road that seemed to get worked out quickly with little drama.

Hopefully the next book gives us more mystery again!

Unworthy (Cunningham Security Series Book, 6 by A. K. Evans, is a rich girl, poor boy romance that began when they were teens, and after a horrific breakup, they meet eighteen years later quite by accident. Unworthy is an audiobook that Aaron Shedlock and Vanessa Edwin beautifully narrated. Their rendition of Unworthy in the reading opened my mind to see the book play as a movie. Trent is the computer guru of Cunningham Security, so he can work remotely, even though he often goes out in the field to keep his edge. Delaney works in the construction industry, but interior design is her passion.
Delaney’s friend is babysitting her baby while she is at work when he begins to choke, and Trent, who happens to be in the same eatery, saves him by using infant back thrusts, CPR compressions, and rescue breathing. When Delaney goes to the Cunningham Security building to thank the man who rescued her baby, she realizes it is Trent, her first and only love. Trent immediately lashes out at Delaney from the hurt place she destroyed him with when she broke things off. Things are never as they seem. Appearances are only illusions of what happened to Delaney from her high school break up, her family life with her father, and her marriage that was now in the middle of a hotly contested divorce with an infant boy in the middle. Trent was an empty shell of his previous self but always a protector of others. With Trent and Delaney constantly running into each other, they finally have the talk that was years in the making. Trent and Delaney must rebuild trust as hurt hovers in the background despite their love and lust remaining intact. Delaney feels unworthy of Trent’s love. He must help her move past this stagnant place so they can move forward. The book Unworthy is a poignant story where I cried with Delaney and hurt alongside Trent simultaneously. Parental interference is a natural hazard many couples must fight against to find their happiness. I love Unworthy as it struck a chord with me emotionally. I could see this book taking place in real life. A, K. Evans is a talented romance author whose books she writes appear to trump the previous one.

Unworthy is a crazy sweet and super emotional second chance romance.

Highschool sweethearts from opposite sides of the tracks, Trent and Delaney had plans for a future. But, all that changes when Delaney’s father tears them apart forcing Delaney to make the toughest choice she has ever faced in her life in order to keep Trent safe.

Fast forward sixteen years when fate brings these sweethearts back together again. Neither Trent or Delaney is truly happy. While Trent loves his job, he is still in love with and bitter over Delaney’s betrayal. And, other than her beautiful baby boy, nothing has gone right for Delaney since Trent walked out of her life. She in the midst of a separation and custody battle with a job she doesn’t love and has been estranged from her father since she walked out at age 18.

Once fate brings them back together and the truth of what happened all those years ago is revealed, Trent and Delaney pick up exactly where they left off all those years ago. It feels easy, but is there too much baggage between them to really make a go at being the family they were always meant to be?

This book was high on emotions and low on suspense and outside drama, which made it a bit different from the other books in this series. But, it was fabulous! I fell in love with Trent and Delaney’s story immediately and watching Trent fall just as in love with Delaney’s baby as he was with her melted my heart.

Gran your tissues and laugh and cry along with this couple as they find their way back to each other and the future they were always meant to have. And, do yourself a favor and snag the bonus epilogue from the author’s website because it is to die for! 4.5 stars!

This was a sweet read!

Trent and Delaney were high school sweethearts. They fell for each other quick and hard. It was so sweet to see their love grow as their grew as individuals. Ah, young love! But for most romance stories, young love doesn't seem to last. As these characters grow and their futures start to unfold in front of them, one of them has to make a difficult decision that will break both of their hearts. Be ready, this book will take you for a ride!

This story is so sweet and sad. There are moments that I really enjoyed and others I didn't care for because they pulled on my heartstrings. This story focuses on love, loss and growth, which I absolutely LOVE in a romance read. I don't want all the happy moments, I want to see the hardships too. I liked how complex this story was. It was more than just a quick summer read, it captivated me and held my attention from the beginning, forcing me to savor all the words.

The only thing that could have made me love this book even more is to have MORE of this book. I craved more development of Delaney. I wanted to experience the things she went through first hand. I wanted to connect even more with her and I think I could have if there were more scenes about her life, family and how she was raised.

Looking for a sweet read that will take you for a ride!? Check out this book. Available NOW on Amazon.

Delaney Rogers fell in love with Trent Michaels when they were in High School, and he felt the same way. They spent a lot of time together, until she walked away, but she never stopped loving him. Fifteen years later, fate stepped in when Trent actually saved her baby's life, she knew that she had to explain her reasoning. However, Trent didn't want any part of it, and kept pushing her away, but again, fate was involved, so they kept "accidentally" meeting up everywhere. Finally, she was having a really bad day when she rear ended a truck, and that truck happened to belong to Trent, so finally after seeing her life, he listened to what she had to say. But will he actually give them a second chance? I really loved this story, and I couldn't put it down at all. My chief complaint was Delaney's penchant for saying sorry too damn much! It seems like such a little thing, but it started to take away from the goodness that was Unworthy for me, however, since this is my opinion, please decide for yourselves. Anyway these two people belonged together, and what had happened when they were teenagers was heartbreaking. There were a couple of twists in the story, some I saw coming & some I didn't. But one thing I really loved was the fact that I NEVER saw the resolution to those twists as A.K. Evans was brilliant in that aspect. I really want to read more of this amazing series, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

My first book by A.K. Evans was a treat. I always love me a good second-chance romance that and is exactly what I got in Unworthy. The opening alone roped me in and I invested in the sweet, honest and pure love between teenage Delaney and Trent.

But life happens, hard choices have to be made, hearts get broken, plans change and new hopes and dreams are built. I admired the strength it took for Delaney to walk away from not one but two situations in her life that weren't good for her. That caused her more turmoil than joy.

It was a rough start when Trent and Delaney kept bumping into each other. It would've been comical if it wasn't so tense. The emotions were high on both sides. Anger from Trent. Remorse from Delaney. And when they finally get a chance to clear the air, it was as if a three ton weight had been lifted off both their shoulders. I do think they fell right back into where they were before rather easily (it had been fifteen years after all) but I digress.

While Delaney and Trent's journey was mostly romantic and sweet, it was also laced with pain and guilt and resentment. As they got to know each other again, they learned to let those feelings go. Forgive and plan for the future they had always wanted together. There were hints of some of the things that had happened in earlier books in the series, and I looking forward to getting to read them.

Unworthy by A.K. Evans
“Second chances, 4 stars”

Delany and Trent were once deeply in love, until Delany destroyed them with a few choice words. Trent hadn’t seen her in years and suddenly it’s like she’s everywhere around him. That has to mean something right? Will Trent be able to let go of the past, hear her truth, and let her back in? Or are these two destined to love one another from afar?
Delany loved Trent. He was always there when she needed him. But she had to let him go. Ever since her life has been one disaster after another. When Trent comes back into her life, he brings the sunshine and happiness. The question is will he let her apologize and make her mistakes right.
I loved Unworthy. I loved how both Trent and Delany both at different times felt like they were unworthy of the other. The pull between them was undeniable. I loved watching them fall back into love. The only complaint I have is it was like they picked up right where they left off. Which was hard for me because its been so many years and I can’t picture it being that easy, but maybe I’m crazy. Either way Evans killed it with Unworthy and I cannot wait to see what she does next.

UNWORTHY (Cunningham Security Series Book 6) by A K Evans 5 stars
Trent & Delaney

They were a high school couple—for a year! He'd supported her from bullies and they fell hard. But her father didn't think he was “worthy” of her. She ignored him but that didn't work. She had no choice but to get drastic. It broke both of them. She left home when she graduated and turned 18.

Fifteen years later, she has a baby, a broken marriage, and works a back-breaking job to provide well for her son. Little did he know the baby he rescued was hers since the boy was with a sitter at the time. They do meet up when she goes to thank the unknown man. Both are shocked but think the dreams they had won't come true. After several more accidental meetings, things change and the real truth comes out. Will they go for a second chance?

I absolutely love this couple. Trent is every woman's dream. The story is steamy, and touching, and the characters are amazing. This may be my favorite of the series so far. I have to read more and I plan to. Thank you Ms. Evans for leaving the reader with such a feel-good attitude at the end.

ARC REVIEW

Another fabulous addition to the Cunningham Security series. Compared to the rest of the series this is a pretty easy romance there wasn't a lot of suspense, there could have been and I kept waiting for it to happen but everything was resolved peacefully, or somewhat peacefully. Most of the issues are internal conflict dealing with past mistakes, regrets, and forgiveness.

Delaney and Trent were each others first loves, the beginning of the books we see them meet, fall in love, and ultimately fall apart. A decade and a half later and they find themselves back in each others lives again. Delaney is going through a messy divorce and has a seven month old child, Tate. After Trent finds out what really happened all those years ago nothing is going to keep him from finally getting his HEA with Delaney.

Trent and Delaney have two physical obstacles, her soon-to-be-ex husband and her father, as well as the very big obstacle of Delaney herself, mentally anyways. It was a good quick read that can be read as a stand alone and is told in alternating first person POV. I wish it had a bit more suspense to it like some of her previous books, because A.K. Evans is really good with the added suspense. But this series is definitely I would, and have, recommended to friends.

As a faithful fan of Ms. Evans books (I've read them all!) I have to say that this one is definitely one of my favorites. Something about the story of Trent & Delaney just spoke to me. Perhaps it was Trent's willingness to love not only Delaney but her son as well that spoke to me but this book was one that I didn't want to put down once I was finally able to start it. My busy schedule doesn't allow me much time to sit down with a book but a recent cross-country flight was the perfect opportunity for me to read her latest book and I nearly finished it on that flight! Definitely a feel-good story with her traditional alpha male lead but this one just hit home with me. I'm sorry that the Cunningham Security series will be coming to an end soon but I'm also excited to read this author's new series that comes out today! I've already ordered Tip The Scales and I can't wait to make some time to sit down with it...keep them coming!

In this latest addition to the series , the author delivers another touching story. This time it belongs to Cunningham Security operative Trent Michaels and his former high school sweetheart, Delaney Rogers.
These two met in HS and fell in love. But he was from the wrong side of the tracks and when forced by her father, Delaney turned her back on him.
Neither ever forgot the other. When they meet again by chance almost sixteen years later, the hurt on Trent’s side and Delaney’s regrets resurface. As does the attraction.
In the midst of everything, Delaney is determined to keep her little boy, Tate, safe as she battles to get a divorce from her husband.
Will these two be able to overcome the obstacles and find love and happiness a second time?
This was another wonderful addition to the series.
Both Aaron Shedlock and Vanessa Edwin did a great job with the narrations in this audiobook.
I was entrusted a copy of this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Never Too Late For A Second Chance

Title: Unworthy
Author: A. K. Evans
Format: Ebook
Genre: Romantic suspense, second chance, small town, Single Mom
Standalone: yes
Part of a Series: Book 6 of Cunningham Security
POV: Delaney, Trent
Steam Level: Slow burn to steamy
4/5

Unworthy is the sixth book in the Cunningham Security series. This Trent and Delaney’s story. They met in high school and before having a nasty break up with no reason Now over a decade later they meet again. And keep meeting unexpectedly causing them to get back together. I love second chances stories and this one was fun but some people may take issue with it since Delaney is separated but not divorced from her ex. They’ve been separated for over a year with no chance of reconciliation but that’s not stopping her ex. I loved the guys and their instant protectiveness of her and her son. Love Trent and Delaney and their second chance at their HEA.

I loved Unworthy. My emotions were all over the place. I felt what the characters Delaney and Trent felt. A page turner worth reading.

Delaney and Trent were high school sweethearts. At least they were til Delaneys father gave her an ultimatum. She made the biggest mistake of her life. She told Trent they were done, so she could protect him. 15 years later Trent walks back into her life by saving her young sons life. When she walked into Cunningham Security to thank the man who saved her young sons life, she had no idea it was Trent. All the same feelings came rushing back. Can Delaney and Trent pick up where they left off years ago?

This is my first book by A K Evans and I absolutely loved it. This book gives you all the feels and pulls you in from start to finish. I highly recommend this book. Can't wait to see what's next.

In the midst of a sticky situation-ship, Delaney comes face-to-face with her first love, Trent. As their reunion heats up, so does Delaney's personal life.

A fast-paced romance, Unworthy is a good read. There isn't very much suspense, which I must admit was a bit disappointing for me, but the sweetness & emotion of the book helped to make up for it. I felt the angst, the tension and the pain that the characters felt as they relived the past and attempted to resolve their issues. Their chemistry never seemed fake, or contrived and their rightness as a couple was solidified from early on.

While a great standalone, there were characters and situations that were hinted at that I would definitely like to read about, so I think I would give this series a try.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

I am a sucker for single parent romances. Add in second chances and I'm a goner. Delaney and Trent belonged together, but her father's dislike of Trent made her break things off to protect Trent. Fast forward several years. Delaney is a single mother to Tate, working as a tile layer, and trying her hardest to make ends meet. Meeting up with Trent again brings back all kinds of memories for both of them. He may have saved her son's life, but Trent wants nothing to do with her. Vanessa Edwin and Aaron Shedlock brought Delaney and Trent's story to life. I could feel Trent's turmoil through Aaron's voice. I could feel Delaney's remorse for the things she did to break up with Trent back in high school. These narrators give the story the personality and emotions it needs to be relatable and realistic.

I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this review.

Having been on my radar for a minute I finally get to open up one of this author's novels. This kind is one that draw my attention right away when it has a group like this. Another fav is this was a second chance also.
Trent will wrap around your heart in this one. Delaney will also have your attention. Rocky road to follow will soon have you paying close attention to the direction they do go in. Since regrets have a work in this you hope that things can go in a different direction. This will also pull at our emotions so much so at times you forget time. The road to healing and love keeps us on it enjoying every minute.

Trent and Delaney fell in love as teenagers and thought they would be together forever until she ended their relationship not because she didn’t love him but because she did.

Years later fate they are reunited when he rescues her son, but neither is prepared for the truths that are revealed or the fact that their feelings for each other are stronger than ever. Her life is in turmoil and Trent is determined that this will be their second chance but is it enough to overcome their past and the obstacles in their present?

Full of emotion this is a story of two people who have always belonged together and it is finally their time.

This is a beautiful story about love, loss and patience. Sometimes it can take years to arrive at the place we are truly meant to be and with the person whom we are meant to share it. Delaney and Trent have been through many triumphs and tragedies in the 15 years they were apart but fate caused them to cross paths when it was their time. You will feel hope and happiness as well as moments of suspense throughout this story. In the end, we get a beautiful happily ever after.

A really good second chance romance. Delaney and Trent were high school sweethearts until she broke his heart. Their first meeting years later isn't exactly hearts and flowers but I understood Trent's bitterness and it felt realistic. Delaney's life is complicated she's a single mum going through a divorce. I liked that there was no quick fix to their relationship. They had to work at forgiveness before they could move on. Although some situations and dialogue was slightly exaggerated at times overall I enjoyed this book.
