Lawson & Jill is the first story in Caitlyn O’Leary’s Night Storm Legacy series, and it was a story that had me conflicted. I enjoyed the first half of the story, even though it did not quite have enough depth for me, which left me eager to see how everything came together. Unfortunately, the way things came together was lacking for me. Things happened far too quickly, and I never quite felt the danger I had expected with such a story. Although an interesting idea, it came together too predictably and quickly for me to enjoy it in the way I had originally anticipated.

I’m sure many will adore this, but it wasn’t enough for me.

Lawson and Jill met when they are both grieving and they are able to connect and help each other through the healing. But when Jill is in danger they need to really trust and rely each other.
I really fell in love with these characters and hope there will be more stories where they will show up.

Divine intervention? Lawson Thorne and Jill Keiler are brought together as the result of losing loved ones. Grief makes them kindred spirits but a shared attraction gives them a future. Now it wouldn't bea romantic suspense if there weren't some angst, mystery and danger. But first and foremost this a a story about the power of love and its abilities to heal a grieving heart.

You can always depend on Caitlyn O’Leary to write an awesome story. This story first appeared in the Danger and Desire anthology Lucky for us, the author added 3 new chapter. I loved it. Lawson and Jill was sweet, sexy, and suspenseful. Caitlyn O’Leary has a way of immediately drawing you in to care about the characters. Humor is mixed in for an enjoyable experience. Lawson is an alpha protector. Jill is a strong, smart woman. When trouble comes visiting, Lawson and his special op friends save the day. The added chapters are about Lawson, Jill, and his family. They were a great, happy addition! I can’t wait for the next book in the next Night Storm book!!

This story first came out in the Danger and Desire anthology but is not being re-released with additional content. We first saw Lawson in his brother's story (Her Chosen Protector) briefly. Lawson and Jill are both dealing with grief in their own ways when they meet. Law feels responsible for his brother's death and is just trying to find a way to move on. Jill has has closed in on herself after losing her cousin and is just trying to find a way to put herself out there and also move on. When they meet, they know that they have a connection. But can they both not only put the past behind them but move forward with each other?

I really liked this one! When I saw the glimpse of these two brothers at the beginning of Her Chosen Protector, I knew I wanted Law's story as well! I needed to know that he would get a HEA too! And this in no way disappointed! Not only do these two have chemistry together but they can truly have conversations with each other. And I loved that! They have a connection with each other that most people never find. And after reading this one, I would love to know more about the therapist as well! And a certain other character that is on a ranch! LOL I might have to know about all the side characters!

Emotional & Romantic – Loved it!!

Lawson is a Marine Raider, tough as they come. He is struggling with the loss of his brother, by his own hand. Shouldn’t he have seen how his brother was suffering and been able to help? Jill was caring for her cousin who after an extended illness finally succumbed to cancer. These two fabulous characters meet each other in a grief counseling group. Having had enough for the night they leave to grab a coffee and dessert.

The rapport between these two is moving. They can relate at a level that others around them do not understand. They are also able to verbalize things they have not admitted to others. Unwilling to lose that connection they agree to continue seeing each other.

Emotional, romantic and witty – you will fall in love with these characters and stay up until the final page is read.

Lawson & Jill

This was such a good story about healing, letting go, looking for the good and finding your HEA. Lawson is Asher Throne's middle brother, Asher is apart of Night Storm series. His book is book three of Night Storm titled Her Chosen Protector. Law made his appearance in Asher's story. Law hasn't been the same since the oldest Thorne brother passed away. Asher convinces Law to get help, he joins a support group and meets Jill. They hit it off from the very beginning. Jill is a successful woman, who is dealing with the loss of her cousin who was like sister to Jill. Together Jill and Law will heal together, fall in love but first they will have to contend with a crazy ex of Angela a woman who was in the support group. Jill is hilarious, sweet and beautiful. I loved that she talked to her flowers when she was working something out in her head. Lawson & Jill bought humor, love, tears and ahhh into my world while reading their HEA. Happy Reading!!

This book was such an incredible read. Two very different, yet each very powerful stories of loss are combined with romance, suspense, danger, humor and tons of intense emotions to create a book that broadsided my heart with a solid one-two punch. I thought Lawson and Jill were compelling and very relatable characters. The losses the have suffered and the feelings they are having made them easy to connect with and feel for. I completely fell for them as they fell for each other. This exciting read will also melt your heart. I loved it and look forward to enjoying many more entries in this series. I am of my own volition posting a sincere review.

When Lawson and Jill meet during a support group meeting, sparks fly. They are both dealing with the loss of someone they were close to, but as they get to know each other, they start to heal. When unexpected danger arises, will Lawson get to Jill in time?

Such a good book! The characters are great: Lawson is a sweet and caring alpha male , and Jill is smart and sweet and clumsy and strong. They are perfect for each other. And the storyline is powerful: it's about overcoming loss, dealing with grief, and finding love when you least expect it. Highly recommend.

*Note: this was originally a novella in the "Danger and Desire" anthology. The author has expanded the story.

Law and Jill...Loved these two characters so much. In Lawson's story we get to learn so much of what Asher and he had been suffering because of the loss of their older brother Xavier. Jill became the balm to his soul. The element of danger was great and their growing passion was intense. Asher's concern for his brother, Law, was so heartfelt. The only other thing I wanted to witness was when they were in Belgium and were telling their maman about Xavier. I look forward to more of the Night Storm team. I wish we didn't have to wait until February...that's too long to have to wait for the next one.

I am so glad Lawson’s story was told. The aftermath of suicide needs to be addressed to help those left behind. Jill and he compliment each other. Law needed to come to terms with Xavier’s suicide. The are soulmates.
Being a survivor of someone who commits suicide leaves guilt and sadness, they do not have a clue to what happens to those who they leave behind. .
Dealing with my own brother’s suicide 11 years ago still leaves a big whole in my heart. Having a counseling degree makes me feel very guilty that I could not save him. It is heart wrenching.
The feeling never goes away, but you learn to move forward and remember the good,

Lawson is the brother of another story line. He met Jill in a grief session when he needed help coping with his oldest brother's death. He is a Marine Raider. Not much is said about just what he does cause this is about his off time. Jill lost a cousin whom she was close to and goes to group counseling to learn to cope. They hit it off and are working on a relationship. But when she is targeted by a lunatic who wants answers and will do anything to get them, including hurting her, he with his brother and brother's in arm are to the rescue. What happens is the rest of the story. I enjoyed this and wish to read about his group of men.

Caitlyn's heroes are always swoon worthy. Lawson carried the grief of his brother's death, it affected his life and decisions. Jill's grief was over her cousin, almost a sister. Both meeting at a counselling group, coffee turned into so much more and sparks sizzled. I enjoyed the slow burn of their impending romance. When danger stalked her we watch Law go all macho and protective, this Marine Raider was deadly serious in his security measures for her. This was a wonderful story and had likeable characters, I absolutely loved it.

Lovely Touching Romance

I love Lawson and Jill. Immersed from the 1st page to the very last, I experienced Lawson and Jill's journey just as if it was happening live. I felt their connection, their empathy as it were my own. Their tragedies had come full force, but in true fashion, Ms O'Leary finds the positives.
Well written, super fast-paced, action, beautiful heat, excellent characters all packed in, dosed with enough realities to leave a lasting impact on me, along with a super touching HEA.

Lawson is angry and guilty about his brother’s death. He attends a grief group and meets Jill, who lost her cousin.

They connect and support each other, but Jill is being sought out for her knowledge of another group member’s whereabouts.

It’s complicated, but an evil man is seeking Jill’s friend to get her back, after killing their child. With Ash and his team’s help, they track down Jill and Law saves her.

Lots of danger and a timely rescue. I like Law and Jill, both of whom have skills and strength, but also suffer a loss that knocks them down.

We met Lawson in another book and I loved to see him find his happy ending. Jill is the perfect partner for him - someone who has also suffered a loss - can help Lawson find a way to let go of the guilt and move towards acceptance. Add in a little bit of action and you have a great story. Caitlyn takes a very real topic (military suicide) and the impact it has on family and writes it beautifully. We are so lucky she shared this story with us.

Loved this book !!

It has a lot of the things I love in a military suspense book; a very well written story, action, some suspense, a close knitted team of alpha guys and of course, some steamy moments ;)

A touchy subject (suicide) was brought up in this book and I wanted to let the author know that she did it very nicely.
Can't wait to be able to read the other installments in this series :)

This is my honest review of a copy of said book given to me by the author.

This is my first book by Caitlyn O'Leary, really enjoyed it. Lawson and Jill meet in an unusual way but they hit it off. I enjoyed the banter between Lawson and Jill. I found Jill a little naive yet I appreciated her wanting to be independent. I like Lawson and his protective side. I knew who the bad guy was from the start. I loved how Jill stayed calm even when things were chaotic. I read in Danger and Desire Boxed Set.

Lawson and Jill are both trying to find a way to cope with their losses. These two hit if off right away and enjoy getting to know one another. When trouble heads their way, they fight it together. They compromise and work things out, without either demanding to much of the other. Such a sweet romance!!

I loved that this was two broken individuals that were going to a place to better themselves and through this, they meet. I loved that we go to see the natural progression of these two figuring each other out and how they tick. Nothing seemed rushed which I appreciated.

I loved that when the time came, she knew that she could count on Law when she needed him the most.

Lawson and Jill are two people who are healing from grief and have closed themselves off from finding love again.

Can they help each other heal and have a future together? You’ll need to read the book to find that out.

However, I’m a Caitlyn fan and can guarantee you’ll love all of her alpha heroes.

I loved Lawson and Jill’s overall fire. I’m starting to think short stories aren’t for me though cause I would’ve loved to see this all progress over the course of an entire book. I read it as part of the Danger & Desire boxset and given the danger only popped up in the last 3chs.... that bit was a letdown. I did enjoy the two main characters.

5 stars for Lawson and Jill by Caitlyn O'Leary

Such an emotional read. An excellent continuation of Asher and Eden's love story. Great storyline that deals with grief. You will fall in love with how Lawson and Jill fall in love. Such a smart and sassy heroine. Can't wait for the next instalment of Night Storm Legacy.

Destiny

Lawson and Jill had their destiny sealed by fate, neither wanted to attend the grief meetings, and thanks to a kid who didn't want to be in his art class, a stairway session was had by the three of them, a beautiful love story with intrigue, threats, murder and love, Caitlyn O'Leary this was a great story, thank you, Dana Zamora

Lawson Thorne and Jill Keller meet in grief counseling. Neither one really wanted to be there. Both suffering from very emotional losses. Law lost his brother and Jill lost her cousin. Between the easy banter back and forth and an unexpected spark they just click. But someone else wants Jill too and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to get the woman he’s obsessed with. Protecting Jill just became the most important mission Lawson’s ever had.
But will Law and his team mates get to Jill in time. Will Law and Jill get the happily ever after they both dream about?
I love the relationship between Lawson and Jill. It’s fun sexy and have some of the most tender special moments only they can share. I can’t wait for the next book of the Night Storm Legacy series!

So much love and heartbreak in this book. Jill and Law met in a grief group and started building a relationship from there. Jill worked from home and Law was a Marine Raider. Of course he is protective by nature. But he's dealing from his own loss. But Jill has trouble stalking her and Law is bound and determined to protect her. There is action and plenty of steam HEA.

Jill and Lawson have known tragedy, they find solace in each other as they meet in a counseling group. As they get to know one another, they find that the comfort they need is right there in front of them.

The storyline grabs you and does not let go until you turn the last page. It had suspense, intrigue, definitely some funny moments and that made me love the characters so much more.

Some of my favorite characters are those that I wish I knew in real life because I want to be their friend, Caitlyn weaves such amazing stories that make you want to step into her book world.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Story line errors

I would have rated this story a 5 but the errors took away from the flow. Is this the final edit? Someone needs to take a second shot at it. Its not simple errors, but errors in the story line. An

Once again Ms. O'Leary knocked it out of the park. Love the new series. Can Lawson and Jill find love through their grief? Lawson and Jill both lost someone close to them and the grief is over powering, they meet at group counselling section and hit it off. It is very well written. It's a must read to find out what happens.
