The 8th volume of the Pokémon Adventures manga collector's edition finally wraps up the Ruby/Sapphire arc of the manga and starts off the Firered/Leafgreen arc based on the Kanto remakes. The Ruby/Sapphire arc gets wrapped up in an amazing way with a lot of action. The Firered/Leafgreen arc is very interesting because this is the first time we really focus in on only former protagonists, namely Red, Blue, Green and in a smaller capacity also Yellow and Silver. This gives the manga the chance to further develop these established characters which grants us a wonderful new perspective and I can't wait how the Firered/Leafgreen arc concludes.

In the first part of this omnibus, the fourth chapter ends. And what an ending!!! I cried and then when Ruby’s Feebas, Feefee shows up, I was BAWLING LIKE A BABY!!! Ruby’s speech was beautiful. He’s grown so much.
And of course, we get a happy ending. Although, I am a little sad that Ruby didn’t “confirm” his feelings for Sapphire (to her face at least), it is Pokémon not a shojo lol. And of course we can’t end the arc without something kickstarting the next one, so there was the ominous ending with someone awfully familiar…. I know what this means!!! We are going to see Red again!!!!
In the remainder of this volume, the next arc starts, the Fifth Chapter or FireRed and LeafGreen!!! And yes, the story shifts the focus back on Red, Blue and Green again! And now they’re 16 years old.. I feel so old *cries* LOL.
Anyway, Green is going to meet her parents..thanks to the lovely Silver for helping her find them. But soon after, her parents are abducted by a strange new Pokémon that no one has ever seen before!!! At the same time, Professor Oak has been abducted too!!! And… yes… Team Rocket is back!!!! With Giovanni as their leader. Giovanni is wanting to take over this new Pokémon with his own ulterior motives (that I won’t mention because it WILL spoil a twist with another character in this arc). Oh oh ! And we see Yellow again (my fav!). This arc is shaping up to being super interesting but it is a short one (it ends next vol).

The explosive finale for Ruby and Sapphire's story, and the beginning of a new story which returns to our original trio of Red, Green, and Blue (alongside some other familiar faces). I really enjoyed the ending to Ruby and Sapphire's adventures, as it all culminated in the series's most bombastic battle yet. A great way to wrap up their character arcs while also having each character present contribute tangibly to the final victory. As for the new FireRed and LeafGreen story, I was initially apprehensive of returning to the OG cast, as it felt like all the protagonists' stories had been concluded nicely at the end of the Gold and Silver journey. Still, this new story presented more than enough new conflicts, character growth, and engaging battles to keep me entertained. Each of the original main 3 characters has their own goals and obstacles to overcome, and I liked that this story chose to return to the open-ended plot thread of Green and Silver's families.

I thought there would be a more dramatic ending and battle with the ending of the Ruby and Sapphire saga. I was a little bit let down after having to wait a couple of days to read the ending of it. I like how our favorite original characters are back in the last two sections we have Red, Blue and Green taking on deoxys who is for some strange reason attracted to the Pokédex holders from Pallet town. We even get to see a little bit of Yellow and Silver and learn more about how Silver and Green escaped captivity. I’m excited to read about the original characters again and see them unite with members of the elite four that they were originally against in the first volumes of this series.

So the first time I read this, I COMPLETELY forgot about the Deus Ex Machina in Ruby's pocket. I just knew there was a happy ending for all parties, even some baddies. But twas a good end to the Ruby & Sapphire arc indeed.
The FireRed & LeafGreen arc tho...they seriously nerfed the badass of Green/Blue; like they decided she gets a girly outfit now instead of the standard Lass Trainer attire, and so she must act like one.
Good thing I know that this is an amazing look at the grown-ass kids we knew from the first arc, without it being a reboot. Also, hilarious how they incorporated the Mewtwo armor from the anime.

Another edition in the world of Pokémon (though it took me a little longer to read); however, this book has two stories inside of it with a unique blend. The first half of the book continued to saga in Hoenn with an epic conclusion. The second half of the story returns to our heroes, Red, Blue, and Green back in Kanto and later, the Sevii Islands, where Team Rocket has reappeared (along with Giovanni). In the end, a shocking twist comes about as Giovanni looks for his lost son.
