Two years have passed since Team Plasma was defeated and Trainer Black was sucked into the Light Stone along with Legendary Pokémon Reshiram… Now Team Plasma is back to its wicked ways, controlling other people’s Pokémon and even wild Pokémon with technology. Luckily, a new young hero and Looker of the International Police are on their trail…
It’s the exciting final volume of the Black 2 & White 2 series! Blake catches up to Colress, the current leader of Team Plasma, while Whitley, accompanied by the reformed Team Plasma member N, corners Ghetsis, whose plan is to self-destruct, destroying everything around him. Both Trainers must defeat their enemies and save the world, but it won’t be easy.
Can the four Pokédex holders—Blake, Whitley, Black and White—handle the greatest crisis ever to hit the Unova region?!
This was a really great wrap up volume for the series. There's a lot of action and excitement. N's redemption arc and the disintegration of his relationship with Ghetsis was intriguing, and Colress and Ghetsis
I really enjoyed the epilogue. I think it did a pretty good job answering any lingering questions one might have after the climax of the story.
The ending of this chapter was perfect! I’m prepared to see more of these characters in the future, and excited to do so! N’s story arc concluded beautifully, highlighting Ghetsis’ insanity and showcasing an abusive parental relationship. All in all, this is the kind of storytelling I want for the games and anime. But if it never leaves the page, that’s fine too.
I found this one hilariously funny. For about half of the book I could not stop laughing. I adored every interaction between N, Whitley and Foongy, they were all adorably hilarious. I loved seeing Black and White's interactions with each other again. I missed them. Iris had such a wonderful relationship with so many trainers, it's amazing. I loved N and Alder's interaction in this book, I couldn't help but laugh at one moment.
This whole arc of Black 2 and White 2 wraps up the Unova region perfectly, I'll miss most of the characters, and I'll hope that maybe we'll see them again one day. I loved all the small mentions from previous arcs too, it was really nice. My favourite character in this arc was Whitley, she's so nice and her relationship with Foongy is so sweet and funny. I didn't really like Blake, he was a bit rough and though I enjoyed him in some parts, his interactions with the other main characters weren't to my liking. I loved this story and all of Unova, it was a lot of fun exploring the region and the characters.
This volume raced through the resolution with Team Plasma providing plenty of miscommunication. The school graduation chapter was better and resolved some of the issues of the earlier chapter.
A general observation -- Pokemon books generally have too many characters and each of them has several Pokemon. It makes keeping up a challenge!
