She Reads Truth

She Reads Truth is a worldwide community of women who read God's Word together every day. Founded in 2012, She Reads Truth invites women of all ages to engage Scripture through curated daily reading plans, as well as online conversation led by a vibrant community of contributing writers. This community of “Women in the Word of God every day” represents a long list of cities and countries, a variety of backgrounds and traditions, and countless real-life stories. But there is a commonality that binds us: we believe God's Word is Truth. So we read. Every day we read a new passage together—working our way through books of the Bible, topics that matter, and seasons of the Church calendar. We engage with God's Word and with each other. And we keep coming back, on the hard days and the good days, because God and His Word never change, regardless of our circumstances.

This Proverbs Bible Study was SO much better than I thought it was going to be. I’ve never studied Proverbs before and I really enjoyed walking through it with She Reads Truth. I was convicted a lot, which is not enjoyable, but so good to know where my focus areas need to be in my walk with Jesus.

I read the manly man version though

It was okay -- there were many instances I was desirous of more. The curation and highlighted scripture was good but often there were other footnote versus that I felt more clearly presented the authors points.

The reflection questions could also have been better -- there were many instances the questions were too obvious and simplistic -- I often desired more questions that had the power to teach, stretch your traditional thinking, and push you to extend your thinking.

There are several themes in the book of Proverbs ( seeking wisdom, fleeing from adultery, being generous…etc) the study guide groups verses from each theme and then asks the reader thought provoking questions. It’s different from their other devotions where they study chapter by chapter and have a devotion… this one is guided more towards making the proverbs applicable to your life.

Really interesting to do a thematic study of Proverbs. Helped me see it in a new light.

This study categorizes the Proverbs by theme and I have never approached them this way. It was very helpful to read the Proverbs this way. Some of the themes are humility/pride, parents/children, the tongue, diligence and laziness, security and justice, generosity and gluttony, debt/wealth, and poverty. I highly recommend it. I love the questions that are given too.

I absolutely loved this study. I appreciate that She Reads Truth creates studies designed to have you study the Word for yourself, not other people’s interpretations of the Word. I gained so much from this one!

*completed again in August/Sept. 2025 and it was just as needed now as it was in 2020.
