Lily and her new husband, Beau, couldn’t have planned for the honeymoon they would endure. Instead of the warm, inviting waters surrounding Bermuda, the two will clutch each other as their plane crashes en route. Along with the other survivors, they must suffer the misery of a frigid and hostile environment shrouded in mist.

Lamentably, something moves throughout this dreary environment. Lily doesn’t know what lurks in the unseen, but it brings death. As the survivors dwindle under a relentless assault from this mysterious presence, they must unite to find answers, and more importantly, refuge. They may be together, but is that enough?

I'm a lifelong reader and fan of stories in every medium. I started writing for fun in the second grade (I think my mom may still have my school-assigned short story "The Frozen Eyes," which I shakily wrote on lined paper). I'm also an Explosive Ordnance Disposal officer in the United States Army. While on my second deployment to Iraq, I began to write again. First, I wrote screenplays, then moved on to writing novels, the first being "Bystanders."

I've been married for over sixteen years to my amazing wife. I also have three children. Thankfully, they also love sci-fi, fantasy, and roller coasters as much as I do.

During my free time I'll either be reading/watching TV/playing video games or I'll be spending my hard-earned money doing something that produces copious adrenaline, such as skydiving or whitewater rafting (neither of which are as much fun as a day riding roller coasters!).

This was a very scary story with an amazing twist at the end! Imagine being on your way to an exciting vacation when your plane inexplicably drops from the sky toward the ocean and...you land shaken but unhurt in a swamp. Then imagine you hear something in the mist coming toward you, and your fellow passengers start disappearing. And then...
This story was short and quick, and quite scary with a twist at the end that I didn't see coming!
If you like scary stories and don't mind a bit of blood and language, you will like this story.

Snappy horror short with dark humour

This is the ideal short story for a fast Halloween read! We start off with a younger bride (not a gold digger, she’s quick to inform us) and her new rush husband getting into a perilous situation on a troubled airplane. Crashing is, however, to be the least of their problems…

This is a nifty, well-created short story with good characterisation and just the right amount of dark comedy and horror blend. I really enjoyed it. It’s hard to find too much to say about a 24 page story without giving away spoilers, but I would recommend this Twilight Zone-esque little tale, and again it is perfect for the spooky season!

Lily is flying to Bermuda with her new husband, Beau, and it seems that life just can’t get any more perfect. Her husband is older than her, a successful doctor, and he’s obviously head-over-heels in love with his new wife.

And then the oxygen masks drop. And the plane crashes.

What follows is a straight-up creepy monster story. I tend to read things with happy endings, like LoTR, Harry Potter, etc., and horror seems to be a genre that specializes in tragedy. But if you like that sort of thing, this is well done. The characters are well-drawn, not two-dimensional cut-outs. The dialogue is believable. The details are well described. And if you actually enjoy the goosepimply anticipation of being stalked, then Feeders will likely satisfy your story itch.

I loved this fast paced, short story. I could definitely see this as a Twilight Zone episode. I kept me gripped and curious right to the ending. Love the twist, too.
Wonderful read.

Interesting. Don’t know what is going to happen until the very end. Took a turn I never saw coming. Definitely recommend.
