Wallflower Seeks Mountain Man is Book 1 of the new Bear Mountain Brothers series. They're the same kind of sweet, flirty, instalove stories you love from Moose Mountain, but this time you'll get the big, gruff and tough founding sons of the Bear Mountain Homestead living their lives on Moose Mountain's neighboring cousin near the town of Kenshaw. The mountain has always provided for its keepers, and now the Bear Mountain prophecy has been fulfilled, it's time for their soul mates to warm up their cold mountain hearts and complete their mountain lives forever. Can we all say, awww.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
When Serena Black agrees to accompany her dad on a trip to the mountains there was no way that she was going to pass up the opportunity to visit the mountain where all her favourite romance novels are based. Plus she will be able to keep an eye on her father which she has been doing since his heart attack. When they arrive and she sees Brady Long for the first time she finally believes the legend of the mountain is true and when he offers to show around the homestead and greenhouses she jumps at the chance, not only does she get to know the man that has captivated her but sees what he and his brothers are envisioning for the future and living the life she once upon a time wanted for herself. Will she be able to leave the mountain and Brady behind and go with the life she was living taking care of her father or is it time to live her life and accept love into her life?
Brady Long is well versed in the legend of the mountain but is slowly losing hope of finding his soulmate, so he and his brothers are making room for the new shipment of grain due to arrive. What he wasn’t expecting was the shy and reserved girl that arrived with it, Serena captures his heart immediately and her enthusiasm for what they are trying to achieve lightens his heart. But will she ever leave her father or will she leave with his heart?
This was such a great read, I have loved every book I have read about the mountains and the family legend. This was a little more emotional with the choices that Serena needs to make, but you can’t fight fate as these two learn. Great 4.5* read as always.
This seems like it will be a cute series. It’s what I needed after an angsty dnf 😂
The premise is unique to me. The hero lives on a mountain homestead where the people work the land and try to live sustainably. In exchange for protecting the mountain, the heroes of the series get a “call” which essentially brings their soulmate to them.
It sounds a little woo woo, but it’s not super over the top most of the time.
Because of this, it lends itself to instalove, but Brady and Serena are cute together. She’s super shy but he’s always understanding and likes her right away.
Of course there are some obstacles to them being together and her leaving her life to live on the mountain, but it’s still an easy and sweet read if you’re needing one!
Safety: no om/ow drama, Serena is definitely a v and Brady isn’t just from context clues, but no mention of his history at all.

Wallflower Seeks Mountain Man by Marley Michaels is an awesome story that I have loved reading. This is book number one in this awesome series written by a brand new author for me read and I am so hooked. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about contemporary romance.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Such a sweet story! The Mountain continues to provide in Marley Michael’s Mountain Men series. This book had instant-love, alpha Mountain Man and a Heroine who does not like to people (relatable!) low drama, high passion. HEA. Cannot wait to keep this series!!
Ahh I absolutely loved this enchanting insta love story by Marley Michaels who is becoming a favourite and a go to for a wonderful story. I am a sucker for a insta love story and this one certainly delivered and I devoured it. Serena who is a wallflower meets Brady while helping her dad and the sparks fly instantly but there are a few challenges in store for them as they navigate life’s challenges but the mountain knows what they both need. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this well written book and I look forward to reading more from this delightful series.
I loved this story so much. Love at first sight with their one true love.😍😍😍 This story was a safe sweet, really romantic and sometimes a tiny bit sad. A story about love and responsibility and how if affects their life. Can't wait for the next brother to get his HEA👍👍👍
Wallflower Seeks Mountain Man is the first book in Marley Michaels' Bear Mountain Brothers series. Brady Long is one of the brothers on Bear Mountain who has been promised a soulmate. He has started to lose hope that he would ever find her when Serena Black came into his life. But each find out that even if you're destined for each other, life will still try to tear you apart.
One of the things that it took a little time for me to get used to is that the book is told in present tense. Present tense is extremely useful when an author wants their story to be fast paced. However, since it isn't common to do it always feels odd until the reader becomes used to it.
I do connect with Serena which is part of the reason I like this book. She isn't social and prefers spending her days reading books. Unlike me, she has a close relationship with her dad. So close that she drops out of college just so she can watch over him after he suffers a heart attack. I would've liked her choice to live with him or Brady to have been harder. This due to the fact she could finally feel like her dad wasn't a burden she had to bear. Maybe I wanted that to happen so badly because it was the only bit of real character growth readers got from her.
Yes, there is also a subplot about her not being a wallflower by the end but that isn't really given much focus. All it amounts to is being with Brady breaks her out of her shell. Sort of. But I don't want to get into spoilers here.
Where Serena has her self-imposed responsibility to her father keeping her away from Brady, Brady has his responsibility to Bear Mountain keeping him away from Serena. He is the leader and, for obvious reasons, takes his job seriously. At one point he leaves to spend time with Serena, during which time some of his brothers make a mistake which causes him to want to never leave the mountain again.
A thing that is odd is the fact Brady's family is part of Serena's favorite series. There is a character in this series that writes books based on true stories. Serena reveals this fact to Brady shortly after meeting him. Instead of freaking out about an obsessive fangirl, he is extremely calm about the idea. While I have imagined meeting characters from various works of fiction, I don't think they would react like Brady did.
Writing an arousing sex scene can be hard. Word choices are all important as you arouse your readers that way. Each person has their own set of words that arouse and kill the mood. The trick is finding a good middle ground so you can please as many people as possible. So it's understandable when a writer uses a wrong word or phrase. The word the author uses to describe Brady's manhood is 'silky'.
In my limited experience no man's manhood has ever been silky. Know what is silky? Shirts, pillows, and sheets. So instead of being aroused I just started thinking about those three objects.
I would recommend Wallflower Seeks Mountain Man by Marley Michaels to those seeking a lighthearted romance book.
Serena Black’s dad asked her to go with him for a drive. He has a new client he wants to see at a homestead on Bear Mountain to drop off a huge order from their grain and supply store, and she needs to get out and about a little bit. Serena is familiar with the stories of the mountains. Both Moose and Bear Mountain were recently saved from being developed and mined. Legend says the mountain spirit guides the Cooper family who have been the protectors of the land for generations. Aster Hollingsworth, the first Cooper wife, is an author who writes tales of romance and intrigue about Moose Mountain. Now she is writing about “Eagle Mountain”, but those in the know realize that is actually code for Bear Mountain! And Aster’s newest book says the 9 founding “brothers” of Bear Mountain are now expecting to find their mates! It would be so exciting to actually go there and see the place!
Brady Long and his brothers were moving things around and expanding the storage area to make room for the big delivery that was coming. When the truck arrived and the young woman got out, shyly staying close to the vehicle, their eyes met and Brady knew she was the gift from the mountain for him. As his brothers unloaded the truck with Titus Black, Brady shows Serena around their homestead and shows her the four huge greenhouses. She comes alive – this is kind of stuff she would be writing up for her Masters degree if she stayed in college – and she gave him ideas and made comments eagerly. The homestead is “living” her dreams, self-contained, minimal waste. Even if she had to work close to other people, which is difficult for her, she would love being surrounded by a place like this. She has a huge urge to be a part of this community, even if she only sends her ideas and recommendations to Brady through email. He invites her and her dad to stay overnight to join their celebration. And she finds herself comfortably saying “yes”.
I am very pleased with this “continuation” of the mountain stories the author has given us. This is an emotional experience as a shy girl comes out of her shell and starts to participate in living the life she craves. But loyalty to her father will keep her from giving in to her destiny. Grab your copy and see if what seems to be irreconcilable can be resolved as they accept the mountain’s call, or if Serena walks away from loving Brady to be there for her father instead.
I was so happy to finally have this book in my hands. I’ve been looking forward to it since I found out that the Bear Mountain Series was going to happen at the end of Mountain Seeking Princess. This book picks up pretty much where Mountain Seeking Princess ends. You don’t have to read the previous series to enjoy this, but I recommend them because they were great series. If you’re interested the first set of books would be the Moose Mountain Brother boxset and then follow it up with the Men of Moose Mountain series. Worth the read and they all tie into each other. This book was well written and steamy. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Brady is the oldest and leader of the group of homesteaders working together at the base of Bear Mountain. He’s been told he’s first up for the mountain sending him his mate. He’s looking forward to it. He’s tired of being alone and ready to share his life with someone. Serena and her father show up with a delivery for the homestead. Brady and Serena feel the pull and connection to each other, but Serena has obligations to take care of her father, obligations she’s placed on herself much to her father’s disagreement. Brady has obligations to stay on the homestead to keep things running smoothly since things went awry the last time he left. They decide to try to make it work but it’s painful for soulmates to be separated the way they are. Can Serena allow Brady into her life or will she keep pushing him away? Can she give up control of wanting to take care of her father all the time?

Wallflower Seeks Mountain Man is an instant love story that takes place on the spirited, enchanted Bear Mountain. The prophecy is that the mountain always takes care of those who take care of the mountain. Mountain Man who live there are waiting for their soul mates to come to them.
Brady Long is head of the colony living close to the top of Bear Mountain. They have found a way to grow food in greenhouses that they have constructed on the mountain. They are like a big family. Brady and his brothers are all waiting, in their self-sustaining homestead, for their promised soul-mates to show up. Brady is the oldest & been the one waiting the longest. When the winter supplies show up from the nearest store, and the daughter of the driver gets out of the truck. He is stunned at one look, because she is the “one.” The one he has waited for!
Serena Black was a shy wallflower, but loved reading books about Moose Mountain. She was excited when her dad was going to deliver supplies to neighboring Bear Mountain. But when she saw Brady Long when they arrived, it was love at first sight. The two had a connection that was just life changing. They were drawn to each other, and Brady was close to just keeping her. There were many problems that they would have to overcome. The mountain could never get it wrong, it just takes patience, faith, and a whole lot of love to see it through to the happy ever after.
Marley Michaels kicks off her new Bear Mountain Series with a bang! Brady is the eldest of the Bear Mountain brothers living together on in a self-sustaining community. Each believes the prophesy of the mountain, but Brady is starting to feel skeptical. Self-proclaimed wallflower Serena abandoned her college education to come home and care for her father after a hart attack, and assist him in running the family supply store. When Serena accompanies her father up the mountain to make a delivery to the homestead, Brady knows instantly that Serena is his soulmate. But when Serena is committed to a life in town helping father and Brady is tied to the mountain and the homestead, how can this work?
Brady is so incredibly swoon-worthy that I started experiencing hot flashes. And Serena is so authentic and relatable - a wallflower who is much more comfortable with her nose in a book than being around people. Together they bring out the best in one another - and are hot as hell along the way. Throw in an amazing supporting cast of characters (especially Walker and Gandalf!) and this is a can't-put-it-downable novel !

Wallflower Seeks Mountain Man is the first book in a new series that is set on Bear Mountain. This series is related to the earlier Moose Mountain series written by Ms. Michaels, but Wallflower Seeks Mountain Man can be enjoyed without having read the earlier series. Serena left college and moved back home to help her dad run the family business after he suffered a severe heart attack, giving up her future plans.
When her dad coaxes Serena into going with him on a delivery to Bear Mountain, the last thing she expects is to meet a man she is comfortable with and can talk to without saying something embarrassing. Brady has been waiting for the mountain to bring him his soulmate, and he knows Serena is meant for him when he first sets eyes on her. It takes time for Brady and Serena to find their way to togetherness. Brady is so tied to Bear Mountain that time off the mountain affects him physically. Serena moves to Bear Mountain with Brady, but then her father has another heart attack, bringing her back to where she grew up, without Brady. Ms. Michaels has created a marvelous story in the course of bringing the two starcrossed lovers back to one another.

This book is amazing! The first story of the brothers of Bear Mountain and Brady is up first! He will meet his soulmate, Serena, when she joins her father in making a delivery to the homestead. She is usually shy and reserved, a wallflower, but Brady brings out something in her. As soon as Brady sees her, he's sure his one has arrived. The fact that she shares his interests and desires to live the way they do on the homestead is just the icing on the cake. They are soon starting on the journey to their forever but it's a rough and bumpy road as Serena's father is not well and she is torn between staying and taking care of him and living with Brady on the mountain. A health scare for her father will send Serena running home and with her forcing Brady to go back to the mountain. In the end, her father will make her see that it is time for her to live for her happiness and he will agree to leave everything behind to move to the mountain with her, allowing her to continue on her journey to her happily ever after with Brady.

fun book. ... Both Moose and Bear Mountain were recently saved from being developed and mined. Legend says the mountain spirit guides the Cooper family who have been the protectors of the land for generations..... Aster Hollingsworth, the first Cooper wife, is an author who writes tales of romance and intrigue about the Mountains. Now she is writing about “Eagle Mountain”, but those in the know and are fans of this author.... realize that is actually code for Bear Mountain! And Aster’s newest book says the 9 founding “brothers” of Bear Mountain are now expecting to find their mates! .... It would be so exciting to actually go there and see the place! characters from previous books, family by blood and friendship, and very romantic. This has Challenges, for each of the couples involved....yes, .... but always only in a good way that brings the couples together. Brady and Serena find their connection quickly, but have several things interfere with their connecting .. as much as Brady desires to fight the pull is just too much ... is a good read but for this reader It was quick and needed a sticking factor... But honestly was a cute read..
This is the first in a new series but is also a spin-off of two previous series. Having never read the previous series I found that I didn’t really need to, to understand what was going on in this story, however this story did make me really want to read the previous series. The plot of the series was well thought out and moved along smoothly over the course of the story. The characters were fantastic and grew as the story went on. I enjoyed the story and watching the romance blossom with the two main characters was amazing. I shared their joy and sadness; even crying a few times with them. It was an amazing read and I look forward to reading more in the series and more by this author.
I give this a five out of five stars. The plot and character were fantastic; I couldn’t put it down, sharing in the joys and sorrows of them. I look forward to reading more by this author and for the next one in the series.

Exceptional story to start this new series out with. We have moved to Bear Mountain, where if you take care of the mountain it will take care of you. Once again the mountain works it's magic when Brady makes his order for winter supplies from the town of Kinleyvilly as their local supplier went out of business. Titus Clark bring his daughter, Serena with him when he delivers the supplies as she is all into the self-sustainable lifestyle that they live at the compound on the mountain. When Brady and Serena first met, Brady immediately knew that she was the one the mountain had intended for him. The attraction was instant and electrifying, but as always nothing goes smoothly. Serena was needed by her father due to his health and the growing business. They have to wait until they can figure these things out, which puts a great deal of pressure on everyone as they go weeks at a time without seeing each other.

3.5 starts. This was a good start to the Bear Mountain series. We meet Brady in the previous series from this author and I was so excited to see his story. Brody is just as perfect as I remembered, outgoing, take charge, funny, sweet and caring. Serena on the other hand is a self proclaimed wallflower, doing better with books than people. While these to fit perfectly together, they struggled to BE together. Serena's dad was not one hundred percent healthy and she felt like she had to stay with him rather than with Brady on the Mountain. This was the back and forth struggle with these two and the majority of the drama in the book. I was frustrated with Serena at times as she was pushing Brady away so much it seemed. While I liked this one, it was not my favorite in the Mountain Man books. Loved seeing other characters and will continue to read this series to see the other HEA's we get on Bear Mountain.

Brady is the leader of Bear Mountain and now that the prophecy of Moose Mountain is fulfilled it is time for the future or Bear Mountain to begin. Serena comes with her dad to deliver some goods and the mountain speaks to Brady in a way he has never heard before. Serena is so tied to her home however due to some medical issues with her dad that she cannot make herself leave her father to follow her heart. When Brady shows up to win her over it takes a toll on both of them that he cannot turn a blind eye too. Finally, after a great battle of wills between her and the duty she feels to her father and the hurt she feels in her heart for leaving her true love behind it takes a selfless act from her father to make her dreams come true. I loved Moose Mountain but I know I am going to love the future of Bear Mountain just as much!

I loved the other Mountain man books. I know that his series will be just as good. Serena leaves school to go home and take care of her father who had a heart attack. She's working in her dad's general store. She is shy and would rather be a home reading than being the center of attention. She's just happy to be back in the mountains. She ends up having to go on a delivery with her father to Bear Mountain and locks eyes with Brady Long. She knows that he has just changed her life. Brady also has responsibilities to his homestead and his family. As the mountains prophecy is fulfilled he's just waiting for the reveal and the moment he sees Serena he know that she's his. His soulmate has arrived. They have lots to overcome and there are always more obstacles keeping them apart but they finally make it to their happy ever after. Next book please. What will one do for a soulmate? Brady, oldest brother takes his responsibility as head of family and resident of the mountain seriously. Serena, is shy and prefers the earth to people. She returned home during her last year of school, to help her Dad who had a heart attack. She went with him to the mountain and was hit by the thunderbolt, when she saw Brady. Brady, was hit with the same thunderbolt when he saw Serena and knew she was his one. Serena lives in town. Brady lives on the mountain. His soul, his livlihood, his family are on the mountain. He doesn't want to leave. Does Serena embrace the importance of live on the mountain? Will Brady leave the mountain? Does Brady's family accept Serena? What about Serena's Dad? Nice story. The will she, will he, can they is amazing! Serena's Dad is a peach. Brady's family is fun, look forward to reading about them. I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Oh, the heat is HOT, and the physical chemistry is captivating so be careful you may just get burned all the heat coming off these pages. There were some "oh no" "oh wow" " what the what" moments and add in uncanny mishaps, ups, downs, drama, intrigue, the good kind that makes you turn the page until there are no more to turn. Brady a sexy shifter on Bear Mountain he was promised some time ago a soulmate but she has yet to show up. That is until Serena father drags her along with him on to a delivery. She isn’t social and really likes her alone time just to read. She was in college and drops out to care for her father whom she is very close to but will it come down to a choice between her father and Brady. Due to her responsibilities to him and Brady’s responsibilities to Bear Mountain they can’t seem to find time to be with each other. Can Brady convince her that it really isn’t a choice she can have them both and will these two find a path to happiness.
Interesting storyline with a self sustaining mountain man Brady Long that meets a shy nerdy girl Serena Black that takes care of her father and the family store. The story takes longer than the others in the series to get going and while I absolutely loved Brady, I found Serena's character not as compelling as it could have been, she was relatable but I did not love her from the start, though she does eventually grow on you. I think she could have been kinder to Brady and more understanding about his feelings and emotions.
The author did a great job developing the characters and building growth and maturity throughout the book while highlighting and describing the emotions and feelings between Brady and Serena and their growing attraction to each other. I did enjoy the book and it was a good read.

From the first page you can tell you are in for a treat - a super fantastic read. This is life on Bear Mountain. It is a special place for the men on the mountain. They are controlled by their hearts and family and the mountain. The interaction between Brady and Serena was instant attraction. They feel the pull, the chemistry, the “hotness”. It only takes an instant to be attracted to someone - to know they are your destiny. To know she is the one for you. This story has everything a reader could want - sexy men, loving, and passionate, twists and turns and bumps in the road. This is a great story about people who are attracted to each other and begin to enjoy each other’s company, have instant attraction, wanton lust, smoking hot passion and everlasting love. Everything came together to make the story fabulous.

Brady has been waiting for his true love to seek the Bear Mountain for so long. He wants to find his other half until one day a gorgeous woman suddenly appears bearing supplies for him. The moment their eyes met, Brady knew Selena was the one whom the mountain has promised him. It was instant romance and the chemistry between them is too strong to resist. However, there were some challenges as they live far away from each other and faced with their own responsibilities. This wonderful story showed how love can wait even if takes for a long time and how love can withstand despite the miles that separate between you. I love how the author has captured the emotions of the characters and talked about the mountain calling the soulmates as a reward for caring it. The HEA epilogue was well-written, I liked how they got 4 kids and I am happy to see how far they have come as their love continues to blossom every moment spent around each other.

Serena accompanies her father on a delivery to Bear Mountain and meets Brady. As a fan of Aster Hollingsworth's Mountain Men books Serena jumped at the chance to visit Bear Mountain with her father for a delivery to the homestead there. When they arrive Serena feels a sense of belonging and when she meets Brady forgets to breathe. When Serena gets out of the van Brady feels his heart beat hard he know this is the woman the mountain promised him and he realizes he must get her to stay if he is to be happy. Serena and her father agree to stay overnight and attend a ceremony at the spring for Vera Martie and Van's baby daughter to welcome her to the mountain. Serena feels the pull to stay but leaves to look after her father who had recently suffered health problems.

While this is a new series we do get to meet a lot of the characters form the Moose mountain series like those earlier books this flows well and keeps you engaged They are reasonable short story that can be read in one sitting
Brady is the unofficial leader of the Bear Mountain Brothers and he knows that the mountain is supposed to bring them the love that they need but he is starting to lose hope that he will ever get the woman of his dreams That is until he meets Serena when she comes to the mountain with her father But her father is ill and no matter how drawn to Brady she is she cannot leave him by himself. With her heart breaking Serena seems to be in a no win situation and with Brady suffering also he heads to where she lives with her father Can they find a way to be together and care for her ill father You will have to read to see
