Six months ago, my life changed forever, and I had no idea it was coming.
My sister—the strongest and most selfless person I’ve ever met and the kickass mom to three adorable kids—was killed in a car accident.
In an instant, I became the mom to those three adorable kids, and lemme tell ya...I am far from strong. Or kickass. In fact, up until that night, I was a party girl who never worried about anything deeper than my plans for the weekend. I’m not equipped for this—especially since I lost the person I would’ve normally leaned on in this situation!
To say I’ve been flailing would be an understatement.
There has been one bright spot in the messy-house-late-to-school-bedtime-chaos darkness, though.
My neighbor.
He comes over pretty much every evening, and spends almost the entire weekend at our place. Every weekend. He’s amazing with the kids, which isn’t surprising considering he’s the oldest of nine siblings and helped to raise them.
That’s kind of the problem, though. He’s always said he never wanted kids. That his childhood burned him out. That it was a dealbreaker.
So, even though the sparks are flying so fast and furious it feels like they could burn the house down (which, to be honest, with the year I’ve had, a burned-down house would pretty much fit), I don’t feel safe trusting those sparks.
Or the look in his eyes when he turns to me. Or the soft smile on his face when he watches me with the kids.
I would’ve asked my sister about this, so I’m asking you instead. And I’ve gotta warn you, those are big shoes to fill. But I trust you!
So, Love Vixen—is there a chance that a newly-reformed party girl, a guy who swore he’d never have children, and the three kids neither of them ever expected to land in their lives can come together and make an unconventional but happy family?
(Not to tell you your job or anything, but PLEASE SAY THERE IS A CHANCE!)
Heartbroken but Hopeful
Dear Heartbroken,
Sweetie, I wish I could give you a hug and tell you what you want to hear. Let’s unpack your question a bit and break it down. What’s your reason for crushing on him?
With all you’ve been through it would be easy to confuse dependency and loneliness with love. Does he make your heart race because of his babysitting skills or does the man behind the child whisperer do it for you? That’s something only you can answer. Neighbor guy sounds like a very caring and nurturing friend. A person can’t turn those traits off. I bet if you found the answer to why he doesn’t want a family of his own you might discover the chance you want with him.
You’ve done an incredible thing by stepping up and giving those precious children love and stability during a very scary time in their lives. Be just as kind to yourself. Seek your own happiness, even if it’s not waiting for you just outside your door.
NEW YORK TIMES & USA TODAY bestselling author Melanie Shawn writes HEAs filled with sweet and sassy heroines, heroes who are cinnamon rolls in the streets alpho-holes in the sheets, casts of supportive *cough: meddling* friends and family who put the fun in funny, toe-curling combustible heat, and sugary sweet “aww” moments that will have your hearts and e-readers melting.
This is one of my favorite series. Silver Lining Love is a bittersweet read. We finally get Wyatt’s HEA but its also the last of the famous Briggs.
Whitney and Wyatt danced around each other for years. They slow rolled their feelings but after the accident of her sister and brother in law, Wyatt steps up to help. He is truly a great guy. He’s level headed, jumps in without being asked and thoughtful without overstepping. He’s definitely been lying to himself these past 20 years saying he’s not looking for a family.
Whitney was a sweetheart. She struggled to keep her head above water when she became an instant mom but she never gave up. She’s one of those characters that you want to reach into the story and give her a big. Thankfully she has Wyatt and the Briggs family to help.
The best moments of this book were when they went back to his home town of Wishing Well. They were able to let themselves be and be absorbed in the towns and his mama’s magic.
Change is sometimes needed to better yourself, love yourself and truly be happy...
Wyatt and Whitney's story gave me all the feels. I found myself tearing up with the tragic situation that was unexpectedly thrust upon Whitney. Her sister and her husband unfortunately died in a car accident and Whitney went from carefree, no responsibilities, to overseeing and caring for her niece and nephews. Her saving grace was Wyatt. When she moved in beside him 6 years ago, she had feelings for him from the start. He was super hot and totally gorgeous from head to toe. But he never gave her the time of day. But when he heard what happened, he stepped up and helped her with the children whenever he could.
Wyatt was a man that loved his privacy and quiet time. So much so that he moved from his home town. Being one of 9 siblings, he felt he needed to get away from feeling stifled. Wyatt was attracted to Whitney from the day she moved next door to him. But he kept his distance. He was 10 years her senior and he also did not want to get into any kind of serious relationship.
Reading how this couple developed emotionally and passionately throughout this story was both extraordinary and exceptional.
Really enjoyed this emotionally thrilling, action packed and sweetly sexy journey filled with witty and engaging charters, heart racing twists and undeniable passion. A highly entertaining read from beginning to end and so hard to put down.
I can’t believe this is the last Briggs sibling to get married! I hope we get some more books to catch up with the whole family that I love. It was so crazy that Whitney and Wyatt had feelings for each other, but never acted on it in the years they lived next to each other. It broke my heart that Whitney’s sister and brother-in-law had to die to really bring them together. I was so proud of Whitney taking in her sister’s two boys and one girl to raise. I know it was hard for Whitney as she always went to her sister for advice and now she wasn’t there. I was so glad that Wyatt wanted to help Whitney and the children. He would make any woman swoon with the way he helped with the children and around the house. It gave Wyatt a whole new outlook on children and rather he wanted a wife and children. The children were such a joy to read about, even when Mikey, the oldest boy got in trouble for the right reason. The four year old girl made me laugh so many times! If you want to be uplifted by such sweet love, you must read this book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
Silver Lining Love by Melanie Shawn is book 8 in the Love Vixen series by various authors. Each book is a standalone with the common theme of writing a letter to the Love Vixen for help for all kinds of reasons.
Whitney, Vlogger, party girl, single, crushing on her neighbor with not a care in the world until it all changed in a heartbeat…now she is the guardian/mom to her 2 nephews and a niece. The bright spot in her darkness is the sexy neighbor, Wyatt Briggs. He is there for her and the kids in all ways but he is discovering that what he thought he didn’t want is exactly what he needs…
So much is happening not only between Whitney and Wyatt but life in general. How to cope with the loss of her sister and brother-in-law, raising the children, helping them cope with their new normal, taking a chance on love, tears, sadness, sizzling love scenes, and becoming a family!
Wow! The connection between Wyatt and Whitney was so strong right from the start. What a jaw dropping way to start a book, it had me totally hooked. I haven’t read any of the other ‘love vixen’ books but I’m a fan of Melanie Shawn and I’ve waited patiently for Wyatt Briggs’ happy ending and boy was it worth the wait. I loved his strength and how on reflection as an adult he could appreciate his parents so much more and create a new deeper bond with them. I loved how he stepped up for the kids and was prepared to be a father figure to them even before he had a relationship with Whitney. The trip back to Wishing Well was beautiful and I loved the family atmosphere and it was just what they all needed. As a unit back home they could have made it work, but you just know it’s going to be so much better with extended family and free new in the mix.
I didn’t want this book to end I loved every minute of it.
What a great addition to the Love Vixen series and such a great introduction to Melanie Shawn! I haven't read any of her books, but plan on diving into her backlist this weekend because I love the way she writes and the chemistry between Whitney and Wyatt is explosive, but also so sweet. I loved this book and highly recommend!
Love, love, love this premise! What a fun book to add to The Love Vixen series. I'm a big fan of Melanie Shawn and this one definitely gave me all the feels.
Another hit involving the Wishing Well, Texas crew! Whitney was always the fun aunt and never saw herself as a mother until the unthinkable happens and to add to the worst day she had she finds out that her sister and her husband have been killed in a car accident. Wyatt has been Whitney’s neighbor since she moved in and has always fought the feelings he has had for her, but when he was there as she found out her sister was dead and gained guardianship of her niece and nephews, he has stepped up and helped her every chance he got. When things finally get to be too much for Whitney and the kids are having trouble adjusting, Wyatt takes matters into his own hands thanks to his mother and acts on the feelings he has fought against so hard. As he gets to know the real Whitney, not the one she projected on social media for her job, the more he sees them spending forever together, and one visit to the family farm changes everything. I loved this story and I can’t wait to see what happens next with these characters or if we get a second generation of sorts with the kids! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is my first book by Melanie Shawn but let mne just say, this will not be my last! Whitney are Wyatt are so amazing together. Perfect blend of angst and romance. Perfect addition to the Love Vixen series!
4.5 Stars Silver Lining Love is sister authors Melanie and Shawna’s contribution to the Love Vixen series which is a collaboration among several romance authors. I haven’t read the Love Vixen series but I have read every book in their Wishing Well Texas series and I can tell you that this book could have just as easily been included as the last book in that series. The male lead is Wyatt Briggs one of the nine Briggs siblings of whom eight of the Wishing Well Texas series previous books were based upon. In fact, the town of Wishing Well some of its more notable residents and the rest of the Briggs family might just play a role in this story even though most of it happens in Washington D.C. where Wyatt is a cyber security defense contractor. I’ve got to be totally honest and say that while I understand what the authors were attempting to express when they titled this story Silver Lining Love with the idea that even the darkest moments can have a silver lining, but IMHO implying that anything connected with the tragedy that befalls our heroine Whitney can result in a silver lining, I just couldn’t get there. Whitney is our female lead. When the story opens she’s a 25-year-old social influencer. A profession I had no idea even existed until it started popping up so much in the romances I’d been reading. While the authors don’t portray Whitney in an especially negative light they aren’t very kind to the profession of social influencers which basically consists of beautiful people pimping a lifestyle and products to their Instagram and other social media platform followers to convince them if they buy this or that product they too can be beautiful and have the perfect life while being compensated by the manufacturers of the products they pimp dependent upon the number of followers they have. As the story opens Whitney is returning home drunk off her ass after catching her then boyfriend banging her then best friend in the bathroom of the club they’d been partying at. She’s also depressed that she’s just lost a big sponsor and is losing Instagram followers although we’re never told why she’s been losing followers. We’re also told she’s wearing a dress that barely covers her ass when she’s standing up. So Whitney comes across as shallow, self-involved and based upon her choice of lovers and friends, a terrible judge of character. Whitney lives next door to our hero Wyatt in a house she inherited from her grandparents. She’s lived there for the past 5 years and has constantly flirted with Wyatt to no avail. Wyatt has lustful feelings for Whitney but their ten year age difference and the fact that her life is all about things he detests like social media and partying keeps him from acting on his attraction to her. Apparently the fact that Whitney as she later realizes shallow and self-involved doesn’t bother Wyatt. So he’s acted more like a big brother than a suitor while burying his feelings, dating other women while he watches Whitney date other men. As Whitney stumbles out of what she thought was her Uber, Wyatt is there to catch her. While holding her up she receives a phone call that changes her life forever. Since it’s in the synopsis I don’t think it’s a spoiler if I tell you her big sister Addison, her closest living relative and lifelong best friend and pseudo mother figure, along with her husband has been in a fatal car accident. Seeing any sliver lining in these young parents of three young children killed in a car crash seemed so tragic to me I just couldn’t connect the dots to their death with the silver lining that it eventually leads to in Wyatt and Whitney getting their happily ever after. Anyway, Whitney the party girl who makes a living taking selfies while attending parties and can't boil water suddenly finds herself responsible for raising her sister’s three young children a ten-year-old boy, a four-year-old girl and a two-month-old infant boy. While her big sister Addison was born to be a mother, Whitney is totally struggling at it and feeling like she’s failing both the kids and her sister. Thank goodness for Wyatt whom as the second oldest of the nine Briggs siblings knows a thing or two about childcare. When it gets to the point Wyatt realizes Whitney is ready to crack he decides to become fully involved in helping her raise her nephews and niece to help ease her burden. Whitney refuses to hire anyone to help her even though she can well afford to because she wants to do it like her sister did believing that would be her wish. When its pointed out to Whitney that her sister had time to grow into the role of mother of three and had the help of her husband who worked from home it doesn’t change her mind about getting some help. This couple takes a long time to get to being a couple. A few stolen kisses, a steamy sexual encounter and it’s still one step forward and two steps back for them. Some of it is perfectly understandable. Wyatt doesn’t want to push for a relationship with the vulnerable Whitney. While he can tell she has feelings for him he’s not certain they aren’t just the result of him being her lifeboat in a storm. Wyatt had told Whitney the reason none of his relationships had worked out was because after helping raise his six younger brothers and sister, he has no interest in starting a family of his own. So how’s a young woman who is now the mother to three children supposed to think that Wyatt would be interested in a long term relationship with her? Okay, the fact that he so readily and perfectly steps into the role of father to the kids might have been a hint but this is a contemporary romance after all. Wyatt and Whitney were both characters I could care about. Loved the kids. The story didn’t have any moments where I had to think, that would never happen in real life. And I loved the fact that we got one more visit to Wishing Well and got to briefly visit with so many of the couples that made that such an enjoyable series.
Wyatt Briggs is the last of the Briggs brothers with no one standing at his side. He helped raise his brothers and his sister so he has no desire to raise any kids of his own. His next door neighbor, Whitney Foster is a Social Media Influencer who is also a known party girl. The night she walks in on her boyfriend and best friend having sex is also the night that she got The Phone Call. The call that changes her life forever. Her sister and her husband were killed in a car accident and they appointed Whitney as the guardian of their 3 kids; Mikey (9 yr), Alice (4 yr) and Benji (a few months old). From the beginning, when the phone started ringing at 230am, Wyatt helped Whitney get everything in order. He drove her to the hospital and started going over to her house in the evenings to help her get the kids settled in their new environment.
When Whitney is at her wit’s end, Wyatt always seems to know and shows up to help with the kids for the evening. All of her Social Media Influencing falls to the wayside in an effort to concentrate on taking care of the kids the way that Whitney feels her sister Addie wanted them raised, with structure and home cooked meals.
Sparks have been flying between the two neighbors since she moved in, however Wyatt didn’t want to go there because they were neighbors and he didn’t want things to end badly, which seems to happen every time someone he is dating realizes that he was serious when he said he doesn’t want kids. As he helps Whitney however, he slowly falls for the kids as well as her. Will his stance on living a childless life continue? As Whitney falls for him, she writes to the Love Vixen because she knows he doesn’t want a family and now she comes with a built in family.
From the beginning I was kept interested and loved every minute of the story as it unfolded. Wyatt and Whitney were drawn together and faced her new circumstances in life with grace. She may have been feeling like she was failing, however he helped her see that she can only do her best and that was good enough. I loved how the Love Vixen finally responses to the letter, it wasn’t a simple cut and dry answer. It broke down her thoughtful questions and asked the question why? Why was she interested in her neighbor and what made him not want kids? Was it because he just truly not want them or was there reasoning behind it? She also mentioned that she should seek her own happiness rather than just hoping that it came with someone else. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how it wasn’t a simple response but a thoughtful one that makes the reader sit and think about the situation in a possible new lens.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Silver Lining Love came onto my Kindle at the right time. I thoroughly enjoyed this story that showcased that sometimes the direction you think your life is heading, is not at all where you are destined to end up.
Whitney feels like her life is going just as she wanted it to. She was an influencer with a massive social media following, she was going out partying whenever she felt like it and she was crushing hard on her neighbor Wyatt. When the unthinkable happens and she gets a call that both her sister and her brother-in-law were killed in a car accident, she very quickly becomes "Mom" to her niece and two nephews.
Wyatt Briggs has lived next door to Whitney for years and while the two flirt from time to time, they've never done anything about it. He has always believed he didn't want a family and he also has not been home to visit his parents and the rest of his large extended family in Wishing Well, Texas for a very long time, another choice he's made.
When Wyatt sees that Whitney is struggling to get into a rhythm with her new found situation, he steps in and offers his help. Wyatt is the one very bright spot in what has been a harrowing few months for Whitney and her niece and nephews. Both Whitney and Wyatt have feelings for one another, but both have kept their feelings so close to the vest that they don't think the other is interested. However, when sparks start flying, they fly fast and furiously. Will these two be able to make something work or will it end badly?
I really enjoyed this story for so many reasons. I felt like these were issues that people really could be dealing with and the lessons that Wyatt and Whitney learn both together and as individuals were things that anyone could deal with on a day-to-day basis. I'd highly recommend this one!
Silver Lining Love is part of a multi-author series where we get to read the final Briggs brothers' story, Wyatt Broggs.
As the second oldest child of the nine Briggs children, during Wyatt's childhood there was always noise. He vowed as soon as he could he would get out of Wishing Well, Texas and never look back. Amd at age 36, he has pretty much done that for the last (almost) 20 years.
Whitney is an influencer, All over social media, having to be the life of the party. That is, until one night when everything fell apart. Now she has more responsibility than she knows what to do with, but is doing her best to make it work.
What happens when Whitney's super sexy neighbor comes to her rescue, even though for the last 5 years he has pretty much ignored her? What happens when she seems to depend on him more than she should?
I aboslutely loved Wyatt and Whitney's story. I also loved that we got to see some vulnerability from Mrs. Dolly Briggs. Through the entire Wishing Well series she has been this rock and this super woman, but it's nice to know that she is human too! With some sage advice for parents out there! What a lovely end to Wishing Well and one of my favorite character worlds!
Though this book is a stand alone for the Love Vixen series, know if you, like me, are a huge fan of these authors and have read their Wishing Well series, this story is about the last single Briggs , Wyatt. The second oldest and the one that had no desire to get married, have kids or return to Wishing Well. The moment he meets his new neighbor vlogger and party girl, Whitney Foster, his life would never be the same. He was attracted to her, but he kept his distance. She was young and he was not into relationships. The night Whitney’s life changed forever as she became the guardian of her sister’s children, Wyatt’s life did as well. The “no family man” became Whitney’s anchor and as the friendship developed, so did the feelings. Will they realize that the life they thought they wanted is no longer what they want? Will they find out that in every bad situation there is a silver lining? I have to confess that I loved not only the story, but also going back to Wishing Well, TX and spending time with the Briggs family. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
We get to visit Wishing Well, Texas and the truly awesome Briggs family - love it! I love the whole Briggs family, but Dolly holds a special place in my heart. The Whitney we initially meet is not very easy to like, she is spoilt, selfish and oblivious to what goes on in the real world....but she has a rude introduction to the real world, to grief and to parenthood which means she has to grow up fast. You have to respect the changes she makes, the way she makes the kids the centre of her world and the love she shows them. We get to see every side of her, the good, the bad and the ugly, which endears her to you, especially when she doubts herself. Wyatt is awesome, he is their hero, there for them when they need him, but doesn't take over, he will steal your heart just as fast as the kids steal his! He may dither a little about telling Whitney just how he feels, but it is not because he is weak or unsure, he is worried about overwhelming her. A true heart of gold and Whitney's perfect man! A great Love Vixen/Wishing Well crossover, which I read on Kindle Unlimited.
This is the first book that I have read by this author. This is a wonderful installment in The Love Vixen series. The book is told from Wyatt and Whitney's points of view. You see, Wyatt and Whitney are neighbors and have been for 5 years. Both of them have been secretly crushing on one another by Wyatt has been reluctant to act. Tragedy brings them together as Whitney is thrown into motherhood. Mind you she can barely take care of herself let alone 3 young children. Wyatt steps in to help and becomes her beacon in the storm. Neither one of them saw what was coming or realized that they wanted what they said they didn't.
This story had tearful moments for sure, but Ms. Shawn also had me laughing until it hurt. I felt for these characters and what they were going through. Ms. Shawn drew me into this story and never let me go. Whitney's grandmother found a silver lining in everything, even tragedy and that is what brought these two together. This is a beautiful story of finding a new way forward after tragedy.
I received this book as an ARC but this is my own opinion.
Absolutely LOVED this read. It will make you laugh, cry and fall in love. This was an exceptional read. Whitney is a single woman that likes to party. She doesn’t have any big responsibilities such as kids or animals. She lives life to the fullest. She has no worries or problems except for the hottie neighbor next door that she can’t get to pay any attention to her. Wyatt is a single man that has the hots for his sexy beautiful neighbor. He knows she is single, but he tells himself to stay away. One night while Wyatt was working out in his garage, Whitney came home drunk. When he noticed her struggling after being dropped off, he decides to go help her. Never did he think this little act of kindness would be life changing. While standing in her driveway with Wyatt, Whitney gets a call that will change her life forever. It is the hospital calling to let her know that her sister and brother-in-law have been in a horrible car accident and are now deceased. Being the only person to raise her niece and nephews, Whitney now becomes the sole provider for them. Whitney loves her niece and nephews; she is just clueless on how to actually raise them. Thank goodness for her sexy neighbor Wyatt. He is the 2nd oldest of 9 kids, so he has knowledge of taking care of a family, he just doesn’t want one of his own. While Whitney finds her footing in learning how to raise 3 kids, Wyatt is learning that Whitney is more than just a beautiful neighbor that he didn’t want to get involved with. He is at her house almost every night helping her with the kids, then taking the oldest Michael to school every morning. Did I mention that he also takes Alice to ballet class on Saturday mornings? It only takes 1 night of Whitney and Wyatt giving into temptation that changes their relationship from friends to lovers. Can Whitney get Wyatt to love her and the kids even though kids were never in his future? And can Wyatt except Whitney with the already made family that he never wanted?
I loved this book! It took me a while to realize that Wyatt was Wyatt Briggs and we were heading back to one of my favorite places, Wishing Well! Whitney thought she was living the life and social media was her home. She was loving the single life and vowed to be the best aunt ever without ever having kids of her own. In the blink of an eye everything changed. Wyatt was also enjoying the single life and vowing the same of never having kids. He moved away from his family and his home life glad for some personal space. But when Whitney needed help, he was there in that same blink of an eye. Whitney lost her sister and brother in law due to an auto accident and now there was 3 little kids that needed her. She tried to do it all on her own, but quickly needed the support that Wyatt was more than willing to offer. I felt all of Whitney's sorrow and cried off and on with her. Funny how things can change and realize that everything you wanted are no longer the same.
When Whitney's sister and brother-in-law die, her life implodes. Suddenly she is the mom to three children with no clue how to do it. She's crushed on her neighbor, Wyatt, for years and he steps up to the plate to help her and the kids out. Wyatt was my hero. Some might think it was unrealistic how he stepped in but having been married to the second of ten children, I know Wyatt not only had the skills but also the gene that makes him want to help. Of course it didn't hurt he was in love with Whitney. The book had moments dealing with grief, moments where Whitney was overwhelmed and full of self doubt as she tried to be there for the children, sweet and steamy moments and moments of joy, hope and love. I started this book later in the evening, thinking I would just read a few pages. I couldn't put it down until it was finished at 4 a.m. Yes, I enjoyed it that much.
Let me just say so happy to be back in Wishing Well! Whitney was a party girl without a care in the world, with a crush on her neighbor who wouldn’t return her feelings. All of that changed in one awful night when she loses her sister and becomes the guardian of her niece and nephews. Here comes the hot neighbor, Wyatt, the answer to all of Whitney’s problems. Wyatt, the second of nine kids, knows a thing or two about raising kids. He steps up and helps Whitney with the kids and becomes everything Whitney could ever want. Soon the sparks fly and Wyatt takes them all home to Wishing Well to attend his mom’s birthday party. Whitney and the kids fall in love with the people and the town. Wyatt decides he wants to move back home with family and wants Whitney and the kids to be a part of his future. Will all of that happen or will it be too much for Whitney?? To find out… READ THE BOOK! It’s another great read from Melanie Shawn and I’m so sad that was the last book in Wishing Well, what a great series it was!!

Whitney is living the good life as a social media influencer until the worst nights of her life. She went from a party girl to single mother of 3 young children ranging in age from infant to ten. She finds out that she is wildly unprepared and finds her sexy neighbor, Wyatt preserving her sanity by helping & pitching in with the kids on a daily basis.
Wyatt spent his childhood helping to raise his 8 siblings so he has never wanted to have kids but he is finding that all he wants to do is take care of Whitney & the kids. When they all go back to Wishing Well for Wyatt’s mom’s Dolly birthday, both Whitney & Wyatt realize they are more than just friends.
I love this writing duo and the Wishing Well series. They saved the best Briggs for last. I highly recommend this book & all of Melanie Shawn’s books for that matter. 😊
Oh my goodness, this book gave me all the feels. This author is new to me, but I will definitely be reading more. I've also only read one other book from this series so it looks like I'm set on my TBR for quite a while. I'm not going to lie, I didn't love Whitney at first. The party going social influencer is completely unrelatable to me, but after she takes in her orphaned niece and nephews, I felt for her. Motherhood is a tough job, but to be placed into the position unprepared would be beyond challenging. Wyatt was perfection; he stepped in and went way above and beyond his neighbor status. He was supportive, caring, and Whitney's anchor when she starts to lose her way. There was so much love overflowing from the pages of this book, it made up for the heartbreak and sadness.
Swoon!! The Wishing Well series, with the Briggs siblings, was the second series I read by Melanie Shawn. Small town romance with lots of fun and characters with sparkling chemistry. It's been a while, but we FINALLY get the last one. Wyatt is the last guy standing and his story did not disappoint. His perfect match is the charismatic Whitney, the girl next door who finds herself in the middle of a life altering tragedy. The story is told in dual POV and that works really well.
It is wildly romantic and I just love and adore everything about their story. This is the kind of everyday romance that knocks the sock off anything else in my opinion. It's not just entertaining. This is the kind of romance you want to live.
I’ve been waiting for Wyatt Brigg’s book and this book was everything and more, The characters were great, and I loved how we got to ‘hear’ from some of the Brigg’s family and when Dolly Briggs showed up on the page, I couldn’t have been happier. Definitely a great book and I did cry during part of this, but this book is awesome, and I was so hoping we would get to see the Brigg’s family in person, and you made that happen which also made me extremely happy. I liked how Whitney and Wyatt came together for the sake of the kids and we’re along for the ride to see where that goes. A great story and I also liked how ‘silver lining’ was incorporated into the story as well! I have to say that every time I read a Melanie Shawn book, I never ever want the story to end, and this was especially true with this book!
Wyatt Briggs is red hot and delicious!! They saved the best Briggs for last and I am so sad that it is over!! If you love sizzling love scenes and the cutest kids that will melt your heart then this book is definitely for you!! Two people that did not want children could not stop but fall in love with Whitney's niece and nephews!! I love watching these two fall in love and become a family!! I also love that they return to Wishing Well and you get to see all the gang again! If you have not read Melanie Shawn books before then I definitely recommend them highly!! If you love small town romance and hot sizzling love scenes than this book is for you!! Go grab your copy today and enjoy!!
Whitney was a “party girl” with no cares in the world for one moment and in the next moment, she was the guardian of her two nephews and one niece. Life happened and her world and theirs changed forever. Wyatt, her next door neighbor, had been attracted to Whitney since she moved in five years ago. Their journey is very inspirational, extremely emotional, and heartwarming to read. Finding unconditional love is rare but with Whitney and Wyatt’s chemistry it is truly combustible. This book is beautifully written by the duo team Melanie Shawn. Definitely, a 5 star read and you will need to have a tissue with you while you are reading!
I haven’t found a book in this series I haven't liked - and Silver Lining Love is no exception. As a first time reader of Melanie Shawn, I was captured by Whitney and Wyatt’s story. Wyatt’s character shows that there are still good men out there. How many would literally step in and help a single woman take care of her new found family? Whitney can’t help but love him more but knows that he never wants children and doesn’t think he will ever change his mind. That would break any girl’s heart. Melanie reminded me that while sometimes life gives us more than we ever thought we could handle, there is always a silver lining.
