Astro-miner Taven Smith is looking forward to returning home from his long tour of duty in the Belt when a stray chunk of asteroid smashes into a cloaked ship. In an effort to save its sleeping inhabitants, Taven boards the ship and soon finds himself lost in a dizzying maze of computer-generated simulated worlds. Taven’s mind-bending odyssey quickly turns into a race against time. Getting out alive seems hard enough, but can Taven return to the world he calls home? Or will he be forever ensnared by the clutches of a simulated universe? Join Taven in this cyberpunk space opera as he attempts to separate perception from reality inside the Sim-Verse.
“Men are not prisoners of fate, but only prisoners of their own minds.” Franklin D. Roosevelt It is a magnificent world to enter and this is just the beginning of what I know will be a great series. This little window into the world of SciFi virtual world did not disappoint me, in fact, I think I'm addicted! The story is very original and unique. I like that the protagonist is no héroe, just a regular guy.
What a wonderful premise, with a twisted turn of events, I was totally flabbergasted with the revelations, just like Taven, the protagonist, so unsuspecting it was. It was totally unexpected and frightening! A highly improbable and yet real sim-verse, questions arise at every chapter, with my curiosity piqued to the highest level!
“Questions are commands in disguise. Every question is a demand. And every demand is a veiled threat.” This frase captured my attention immediately, the innuendo and subtlety in how we express ourselves, the double meaning behind what we say. I like the philosophy behind the story, it has an in-depth many lack. The storyline is so immersive, I was snagged from the beginning, impatient with wanting to know more, and at the same time not wanting it to end. The characters are extraordinary, strong, emotive and resilient. A plausible universe, a portent world building that Kuzara has described with creativity and a loaded imagination. This is one of the most engrossing and mind-bending books that I've had the pleasure of reading. This series is just superior!! As always, Allen Kuzara has outdone himself, not only with the plot, but the morality and social aspects that I expect in all the books I read. This is going to be an amazing and remarkable series! Keeping close tabs on this new Sci-fi series.
This is a terrific merging of sci-fi and a computer-generated game world in three books: Rebel’s Construct, Rebel’s Gambit, and Rebel’s Rule! Astro-miner Taven Smith, Ferah, and Mack board a ship that has been hit by a piece of an asteroid, trying to see if they can help. That is when the nightmare begins as they explore and try to make sense of what they find. The concept as well as the writing draws readers into the story line and keeps them involved throughout the entire experience. The easy merging of the characters with the world created around them is almost magical. The vivid descriptions of those characters and how they feel and react to situations are so intense that the readers can actually picture the scenario as it comes to life in front of them.
This is a collection of fast-paced stories that keep the action moving forward well. It offers a good mixture of drama, suspense, and action as we watch Taven, Ferah, and Mack, try to navigate this strange place to not figure out how to get home but to survive until escape is possible! Not knowing what’s going to happen next will keep you on edge as you fly through the pages. Grab your copy and enter the exciting adventure!
Rebel's Construct This was the first book of the Sim-Verse series. I liked the story of the space miner finding a ship and entering the Sim-Verse. I thought that the protagonist Taven Smith was a bit annoying at times, always asking questions and being impatient. I was reminded at times of the Matrix, isn't that right Mr. Smith?
Rebel's Gambit. Just like Star Wars (the original movie trilogy), this second part of the Sim-Verse saga was better then the first part! We still follow Taven Smith and Cat, the woman with green eyes, in the Sim-Verse. I'm not sure why Cat changed Taven's DNA, but maybe the reason is love (and that is all you need). A fun read and going straight to part three!
Rebel's Rule For me this book was the best part of the trilogy, hopefully the first trilogy! Taven Smith is developing his abilities and trying to save the Sim-Verse, but he's still looking for the truth outside of himself at least in the first part of this book. Fortunately he's also growing more confident and finding answers in himself. I enjoyed this book.

I would urge parents to read this trilogy WITH their children, but adults can fully enjoy the series with no child present. This is one of those times when I have to give full disclosure and point out that I review books as a spiritual duty to bring light into what certainly appears to be an increasingly dark time. Enjoy.
Rebel's Construct: Having been eaten by giant bats the few times I attempted them, role-playing games are not a favorite activity of mine. That said, this family-friendly, RPG-like novel with a fantastic opening chapter is one whoop of a ride and can be read in a day, or a couple of months, time being relative.
Rebel's Gambit: It would be best to read this PG15 dystopia on a weekend to allow for philosophical interludes.
Rebel's Rule: Set aside a full, long day for this PG13 episode in the ongoing war between the Meyer Corporation and the Seekers led by Eleazar.

This boxset brings together the first three titles in the Sim-Verse series which follows Taven, an astro miner and his crew.
This is truly mind-bending stuff! You really need to concentrate but that's no bad thing! Once again, the author brings a unique and original story with rich, well developed characters and excellent world-building. The writing is strong, the books are well written and so descriptive you can almost smell and feel everything the characters do. I'm looking forward to the next installments in the series!

Nice series. I had not really read much about the books when I got them but was pleasantly surprised. The stories were well thought out and over the three books you follow a fun series of events with regular twists and turns. If you like space operas you should get this series. I’m off to find the rest of the books in the series!

This series is best read with all three books. I read them separately with time in between and it hurt the story. Taven is up against a ruthless enemy with all of the universes at stake. I feel for Taven, he tries to do the right thing but the sim-verse seems to be against him. The book has some interesting characters and unusual worlds with several twists that I didn't see coming. There were some confusing rules with the sims, but I did like the books.
Really quick paced action stories. Awesome that these are packaged as a box-set so you don't have to wait months for the next one - and at a great price.
I am only part way through book 1 but love the concept, clear writing and great ideas. Look forward to finishing and coming back to update this. Now finished and enjoyed the concept and crisp fast writing.
