Yet another winner for Kali Hart!
What a memorable book! I love Kali's series...and really enjoyed spending time with her latest characters, Lucas and Andrea. I'm anxious for the next installment -- Evan and Claire's story!!

Resistance is futile when the world's hottest landlord lives right next door....
Resisting the Guy Next Door is the fifth book in the Guy Next Door series. The story is about Andrea White and Lucas.
Andrea has just moved back to her home town. Well more like snuck back as the only person who knows she is there is her younger sister Kelly. Andrea had her life all planned out before she graduated high school and she had made it. She had graduated college, worked hard and became a magazine editor with a corner apartment and a busy life in the big city. But that all changed a week ago when she finally snapped after her boss had been undermining her story ideas for months and making her work unbearable. So some shouting happened and she quit her dream job. She decided the best thing to do was move back to her hometown and start her own business as an editor for hire, a fresh start. She leased a small bungalow and was going to figure out how exactly to tell her mother, her very overbearing mother with crazy high standards for Andrea, that she was back in town to regroup. Andrea also has an older brother, Aiden, who's story was in the previous book, Kissing the Guy Next Door, where we also meet Lucas for the first time.
Lucas is a bouncer at a dive bar on the wrong side of town. But he is much more than that also as he sometimes works with the police to help locate someone they are looking for or will feed them information on someone that needs to be taken care of. He also owns his house and the one next door which he rents out. He has a new tenant moving in today but he is not prepared for what happens when he sees her for the first time. Let's just say that something deep inside him is pulling him to her and all he wants to do is carry her back to his place and never let her away from her side.
When Andrea sees Lucas for the first time he is walking around to the front of her new place with no shirt on. He has obviously been working out back but man is he sexy.....covered in beautiful tattoos, muscled, glistening and super hot. He has never been into bad boys and this man has bad boy blinking in large neon letters over his head. But there is a pull that she feels towards him and this is going to get her into even more trouble, especially is something were to happen as he mother would take it even worse.
This is a well written story that has a nicely developed story-line. There is some drama, mystery, suspense, a lot of sexual tension, romance, and super hot and heavy chemistry. Both Andrea and Lucas are characters that I enjoyed reading and seeing finally come together. You can literally feel the flirting tension coming off your Kindle as you are reading, just wondering when and how they will finally get together. This book was a lot of fun to read.

This book is about Andrea and Lucas. Andrea has just moved back to her hometown. Until the previous week, she’d seemingly had it all – a thriving career as a magazine editor, a great apartment, and the bustling New York lifestyle she had always craved. But then, at a whim over creative differences, she quit her dream job. Only her younger sister Kelly knows she’s coming back. Andrea is setting up her new freelance editing business, and she feels like she can’t let her over-bearing mother or the rest of her family know she’s back, worrying they’ll think she’s a failure.
As she pulls up to her new, small rental home, she notices a tattoo-clad, shirtless guy around the side of the house. He’s a walking $exual fantasy she’s never dared to admit to anyone. As she stares at him, he walks over towards her car as she gets out of it, and he introduces himself to her as Lucas, her new landlord! AND, he lives right next door! Lucas too admits that he shouldn’t be eyeing his new tenant as a piece of dessert, but he can’t help it.

setting up in the backyard. But after all of the guests have left, and Lucas sits by the firepit, Andrea makes her way over to his house. Their interaction is flirty, honest, funny and hot! Her honesty and confidence wins him over instantly, and she certainly could NOT convince him as to why he shouldn’t want to be with her.
It’s a quick read that is both fun and funny. They’re a good mixture of sweet and steamy, with so much passion and great chemistry. I’m already looking forward to reading about Evan and Claire’s story in book six. I give this book four and a quarter stars.

Andrea quit her job in New York, had to move out of her swanky apartment, is trying to start a new business, and is now renting a cottage, all while trying to keep her mom from finding out she has retuned to her hometown. Lucas is her new landlord, he’s a tattooed bad ass bouncer and some time police informant. The two are instantly attracted to one another. They give into their attraction and have sex. After, Lucas has to go to work, Andrea’s sister Kelly talks her into going to the dive bar Lucas works at, even though he told her not to come, it’s to rough and he didn’t want her there. (Kelly is from a previous book that I didn’t really like, she was rescued by her brother from domestic violence by her ex, and she sleeps with the hero as soon as she moves in with him. So her judgment in my mind is not very good.) while the sisters are driving up to the bar they see a rough looking crowd standing outside then they see Lucas punch a guy so hard he breaks his nose. Freaked out by it she tells Kelly to drive away. The sisters hole up in her house until Lucas comes by the next morning. Kelly does, to her credit, tell Andrea to give him a chance and listen to him. The two make up, profess love and epilogue has them married and expecting.

Another fast fun read in this series where each book takes about thirty minutes to read They are perfect for when you are short on time and want a book that you can read in one sitting

He falls for his new tenant straight away but she is doubting herself Can he convince her she is meant to be his and give her the confidence to be herself You will have to read to see

Kali Hart has become one of my must read authors and this book is only one of reasons for that distinction. Ms. Hart has a way of grabbing onto her readers from the 1st page to the last with her fantastic storytelling and world building, and that's not east with a short story. Her characters are so delightful that you can't help cheer for their happily ever after. I so enjoy, in our crazy world today, being able to escape into a short story that leaves you feeling so good at the end. Lucas and Andrea's story is one of finding your soul mate when you least expect it. This story has everything that you could want; comedy, drama and of course hot romance. This delightful gem of a book is part of the Guy Next Door Series and you really don't want to miss it or the whole series.

First things first; I really like the cover of this book!
Resisting the guy next door is the fifth book in the ‘’guy next door’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. After quitting her job in New York, Andrea is back in her hometown. What she doesn’t expect is to fall in love with her new landlord.
The chemistry between Andrea and Lucas is clear to see and I liked them together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.

Although it was short, I liked this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and likable. Andrea was brave and I was impressed at the chances that she took. Andrea met Lucas for the first time and knew that she was drawn to him. Lucas was all-in as soon as he saw Andrea. Instalove is definitely at play. Luckily when things get rough, Andrea gives Lucas a chance to explain and he has a great person to tell her about his character. I loved their happy ever after and I recommend reading this book.

Like all of Kali Hart’s stories, this one doesn’t disappoint either. It was quick and a very light spicy story. Andrea has quit her job in New York and moved home without telling her family other than her younger sister. Her new home is right next door to her landlord Lucas. There is an instant attraction from both of them, within two days they are in love and although they have hit a little speed bump, they work it out and have their happily ever after. If you want a light hearted instant attraction love story, this is your go to book.

Resistance is FUTILE!
I must say each book in the series is really an entertaining read...Out of the five so far this one is good. Low angst with an instant love/connection between Lucas and Andrea. Lucas got one look at his tenant and knew beyond doubt that this was the woman for him. Andrea with her life in shambles feels the connection but is hesitant(resists the idea of being together) to take a chance. Lucas is all in and makes it his mission to make Andrea his. The chase was entertaining and their coming together was HOT. A lovely HEA ensues. Short, sweet and HOT...just like I like them.

Two people who do not seem to have much in common besides sharing a wall. Lucas is a landlord renting out the house next door. Andrea is moving back to her hometown after living in New York for several years. She says she is a mess. Lucas upon seeing his new tenant is crazy for her and wants to get to know her better. He lets her know this. She is also hot for him, but she wants to remain distant. Will this work? They have sizzling chemistry, crazy hot, sexy, spicy. Is there more? It is a fantastic read. Andrea moved back home, not wanting her family to know she is renting a small home. Lucas is Andrea's new landlord, and he is not what she was expecting. When Lucas sees Andrea he knows she is the one, but he does not to freak her out and move to fast. Andrea life has been tossed and turned around the last thing she wants is to get involved but the attraction is too strong.

Andrea leaves her job, her apartment and her life in New York, to come back to her hometown. She rented a small home and the landlord, Lucas, lives next door. Fireworks from the word GO. Romance and emotions skyrocket. The side stories really make the basic plot shine, like her brother sometimes works with Lucas in finding bad guys.... and he does not know she is back in town yet. All the right feels with this one and plenty of smiles to go with the banter they have. Family is tight here and they all support each other well. Definitely a keeper in my library.

Great book. Lucas knew he felt something for Andrea the minute he met her. She felt it too but was to scared to act on. Her sister came to visit and talked her to go out to where Lucas worked after he told her not too. She seen him punch someone and break his nose. She left and didn't answer the door when he came over her sister did and said hear him out.
She had quit her job moved back to her home town and hadn't told her family yet. Lucas works for her brother on the side. So she was more open to the idea and they lived happy ever after.

This book is both hot AND confidently sexy. Lucas and Andrea’s story, although short, is on of fresh starts and enough electricity to ignite a fire. Tattoos and Straight laced sounds more of a erotic book.

Andrea quits her city job and moves back home. Her landlord and nextdoor neighbor, Lucas sees her and immediately knows she will be his. Liked the storyline and characters. I just wanted a more in depth and descriptive story. How and where did he propose? Did they move in together or get a totally different home? Did they have kids?

One wants to resist after she just moved back into town. The other one is determined to make her him. Tattooed an all it was a moth to a flame. She believed that she would avoid like the plague until she couldn’t Short and Sweet getting burned from saying yes leads to shock and no cliffhanger

I like the spark between Andrea and Lucas. I like the fact that Lucas knows what he wants and goes for it. I like that Andrea has confidence and a drive to succeed. I like that their lives are more entwined than they even realize. Very cute story. 3.5 stars

I feel like this was didn’t have as much meat as the other ones. Maybe I’m just in a different headspace while reading it, but it seemed like there was less plot and less sex. I don’t know. It wasn’t bad so don’t let the 2.5 stars fool you. If you like her other books you’ll like this too. I just wanted a little more from it than I feel like I got, and that’s on me.

I am enjoying this series. This is the fifth book and it is just good as the previous ones. The story flows well, keeps you interested till the end. The characters are perfect for one another and have sizzling chemistry. A must read.

A bad boy on the outside but a sweetheart on the inside is what Lucas is about. It’s hard for Andrea to resist and I wouldn’t have either. I had issues with her putting so much importance on his tattoos and her mom’s reaction but liked that it was fast-paced and sexy and short.
