Borderline Personality Disorder: A Complete BPD Guide for Managing Your Emotions and Improving Your Relationships by Judy Dyer due Oct 19, 2020 BookSprout 103 pgs Highly Recommend I’m very impressed with how well written and easy the information is to understand and follow. The book is expertly outlined starting with what BPD is and what the symptoms are, and includes great examples of the symptoms. It list different treatments including therapies and use of medications and it also provides great information about the different types of doctors and therapist and what each are or should be able to offer patients. The outline, amount, and type of information given in this guide is invaluable! Another thing that touches me greatly in self help books is when you have an author, like this one, who goes the extra mile by providing links to special help and online support groups, and they offer other free books to self help! That testifies to me the author truly cares and wants to help people beyond a book sale! I can’t say enough good about this book’s content on this subject and it’s author. I look forward to reading more of this author’s work. Happy Reading♥️
This is a great resource to add to your collection, or as a great first read, on a very difficult to understand disorder. This disorder is often misdiagnosed, and the author provides you with insight and exercise's to help you, or someone you care about, navigate this sometimes overwhelming condition.
A bit of a confession, this is not my first read on the topic, nor will it be my last. I deal with several acquaintances and relatives that suffer from this often debilitating condition on a daily basis and I plan on using several of the Author's suggestions..

This book was clear, neat writing, explain the type of BPD and cause/correlation of why it happens. Besides this book offers some therapies for BPD - they are useful to correct emotions.
BPD is a sensitive subject and it requires to be slow down for evaluating more realistically (I refer to Complementary & Alternative Treatment). The real challenge needs a long time therapy to heal the trauma (maybe in childhood) or replace old habits and reach a new personality.
Practices about mindfulness and mediation are always helpful to reduce stress and anxiety (day by day) from working and acceptance emotion state before knowing or understanding symptoms to get better life.

This is a very sensitive subject to approach without causing someone mixed emotions because of how stigmatized B.P.D has been in society but the author did a very eloquent job in this easy 103pg read. She provided readers the information about how to manage myths, diagnosis, treatment and the aftermath of living with B.P.D in our society. B.P.D sufferers & survivors are many times misunderstood and cast aside due to the stigma. Throughout the book she educates the readers to be more open and sensitive to B.P.D survivors and their struggles.. I am very pleased to have read this book as a Q.M.H.P.

This was a good read introducing people to BPD, with an introduction to the disorder, causes, treatments and helpful tips to try out (theres not just one fits all it can take some time to work out what is best for the individual) the information is delivered in easy to understand terminology and bite size sections so its not a mass information overload, but enough to start out with understanding and ideas.

Checking whether I have any symptoms in line with the examples in your book, I found that I can relate to some of them. On the other hand, I cannot help but believe that there is a conflicting denial from my side. You are right; one cannot diagnose yourself with BPD. Overall, a good read that makes you think a lot about yourself, your feelings, and your behavior. I would recommend the book to anyone that wishes to conduct some serious introspection into his/her general feelings and behaviors.

Borderline Personality Disorder by Judy Dyer really stood out to me for its simplicity and clarity. It explains complex emotional patterns and behaviors in a way that’s easy to understand, using relatable, real-life examples. I found it incredibly accessible without feeling superficial — a rare balance that makes it a great starting point for anyone wanting to learn more about BPD.
While reading this, I was also going through Loving Someone with BPD, and honestly, Dyer’s book felt much stronger in comparison. It offers a far more straightforward and compassionate guide. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to better understand themselves or support a loved one dealing with Borderline Personality Disorder.

An easy to read in layman's terms the complexities of mental health issue. We are all walking around with individual BPD issues, some not as pronounced as others. This text and the exercises contained in this book go a long way in helping to remove the stigma of this difficult disease and give the reader traction in managing this debilitating disorder. This is BPD and mental health explained the way it should have been years ago.
I got a copy of this book from the author to read and review it before it was published. I have to say this was a very interesting and informative book. It explains the concepts well and its easy to understand. I think it is very well written and I had to read it in sections so that I can take notes and learn the information. I think chapter 9 was really helpful! I've read another of Judy Dyers books "emotional intelligence" and I really enjoyed it. This was a well written book!

A very accurate detailing of the disorder. I found myself being able to resonate deeply with the symptoms and am able to agree with the assessment even more so of my own diagnosis.
