A promises that can never be broken

She has done it again. A great book, as always the book can be enjoyed on it own. Joseph is my favourite King brother I am glad he is highlighted more in this book, and I a smiling al the way through watching his revenge plot coming together.

For a continuity lover like me I love this book manages to link right back to thing from the first book, then hive an update on where everyone is right now, then build on events to come. All these characters are awesome and gave such great stories and rich histories. There are not done yet, but still there is the next generation and more a whole other side of the family in Hope City.

I think I look forward to the annual catch up as much as the King themselves. Everything about thus book and series is awesome.

'To sanity, may it reign forever'

Weddings, family holidays, vow renewals and ....revenge. They may have crashed Joseph's holiday and he may even enjoy the family time, but that doesn't mean the intrusion will go unpunished....
The Kings at their best and their craziest, family is everything....always, and I love every minute we spend with them.
This is a novella within the series and will only make sense if read as part of the series, it is not a standalone book. I read this on Kindle Unlimited

One for the fans.

2-3 stars! (2 stars for the novella having an actual point but 3 stars because I’m a fan of the series so I’m not mad at this filler content I’m paying for). This 14th book in the Kings of Guardian series (but as an in-between novella marked Book 12.6 in the series) is kind of another check in Winter/Christmas Special with all the Guardian family and friends with them going on vacation and also revealing everyone’s fertility plans (who wants kids, who doesn’t, who wants more, who’s having a baby).

The premise is that Joseph is planning a romantic getaway with his wife Ember but somehow gets pranked into inviting his whole family and close friends and all the children and to go on holiday with him. Payback is going to be major and his friends and brothers spend the whole vacation trying to anticipate how he’s going to get them back. The only other thing this novella does is set up the next Guardian Defenders book (Book 3 in that series), for a character named John. This is definitely one for the fans and not at all essential, but then again, you will probably want to buy it if you’re already sucked into this family’s business and consider yourself an honorary member.

Guardian Family Reunion

I enjoyed reading this Promises book of characters from so many previous Guardian books coming together & sharing how each of them are still growing strong in their relationships. This storyline was full of so many surprises from a wedding, wedding vow renewals, multiple baby announcements, and definitely more hot steamy baby making storylines too 😂 The love, laughter, & pranks throughout this book was so hard to put down & continue in the morning & was worth staying up late into the night to finish reading it all instead.

Kris Michael's like I've said it most of my previous reviews You are an amazingly gifted author & I look forward to getting caught up in all the rest of this series as well as the extended branches. Thank you for letting us all reconnect with precious characters & I am excited to meet new ones & read their storyline's too & catch up on previous characters again too.

Promises is Book #12.6 (novella) in the Kings of Guardian series by Kris Michaels. It is a perfect mix of action, romance, and family drama that was so easy to get hooked on. Each book spotlights a different member of the King ‘family’ - the elite operatives working for Guardian Security - so you get a fresh story every time, but with plenty of familiar faces popping in along the way.
The plots are fast-moving, with everything from high-risk rescues to international missions, but what really makes the series stand out is the loyalty, teasing banter, and the intense, heartfelt romances which gives all the action so much more depth.
If you like romantic suspense, military romance, or strong law enforcement vibes, intriguing characters, and a sense of found family, then this series is definitely worth diving into. It’s exciting, emotional, and just the right amount of addictive.
Happy Reading…

Impact of Promises

The promises made create a powerful bond with the King family. I absolutely loved the relationships between these characters created by Kris Michaels. This story begins the night before Maliki and Poet’s wedding. Joseph is the best man and his brother Jacob tricks him. This trick brings all of the family together and Joseph promises to get even. It was great to get an update on all of the characters and see how Joseph accomplishes his promise. I found myself laughing at certain events in this story. The love clearly is evident between this large and crazy family and promises that are made bond all of them together. I have never been disappointed in a Kris Michaels story. Promises in fact exceeded my expectations and had me laughing. I really enjoyed the texting between the wives the morning of the wedding. Job well done!

I borrowed Promises ~ Kings of Guardian ~ Book 12.6, by Kris Michaels from the Kindle Unlimited Program.

Promises starts with a bachelor party for Maliki. Jacob makes plans with the twins Drake and Dixon to get Joseph to invite all of the family to Aruba for a two week vacation that he had planned to be alone with his wife. They get him drunk and the invitation goes to everyone of his brothers and sisters, spouses and children plus all his brothers by choice.

Joseph wakes up the next day to find out what they tricked him into and plans his counter moves. He makes a promise to himself for revenge. Part of the plan is to have all of them repeat their vows together on the beach to their wives with promises and a deeper commitment.

Jewell finds another problem in the ciber attack by the deceased Vista, which will be dealt with in the next book. I can't wait...

Kris Michaels does it again - a must read!

I’ve been looking forward to this book since pre-order; it was released at midnight alongside 3 other much anticipated books from favourite and this is the one I picked to read first.

I enjoyed being around these incredible characters so much I may have been in my Kindle during a few conference calls. Shhh.

All the favourite Kings and Marshalls with Gabriel and Anna are back for a quick trip, surrounded by loved ones and engaging in their typical antics, to lead us straight into John - available for pre order for 26th Jan now - and I can’t wait!

Must read, but make sure you pick up the whole series to read in order, or set yourself up for some intense spoilers!

Feel good Guardian

No plot spoilers.
No potential triggers.
I gave five stars because the book delivers a heartfelt peep into the lives of the Guardian characters, reconnecting with them, joining in their fun.
It's a novella, there are no action scenes, tasteful sex scenes and a bit of swearing.
It's light weight, a quick read that takes you away from everyday life for a little while.
It delivers exactly what it promised in the blurb, if you have not read any of the Guardian series you will not have the backstory but it's not essential to enjoy the book, however, I do recommend the series for anyone looking for a read that provides intrigue, romance and action. Kris Michaels doesn't know how to write a bad book.

Promises!

I completely adore Kris Michaels and Promises is Brilliant! Seeing the entire extended Guardian King family (the siblings and spouses, plus their team, Frank & Miss Amanda, Gabriel & Anna) interacting in a more “relaxed” (as relaxed as Joseph gets, LOL!) setting, Malaki & Poet’s wedding, on vacation, and just being themselves outside of work, interacting as family, Jacob and Double D causing trouble. There were such touching moments and it was also such fun to read that my husband kept looking over as I actually laughed out loud while reading it. It’s one of my favorite King books now!

Family Shenanigans

At the beginning of the book is the night before Dr. Maliki Blue and Poet Campbell are married. In a twisted brotherly kids Jacob ,Dixon and Drake come up with a way to crash Joseph and Ember's planned get away to their place in Aruba. And by crash, the whole family, including the kids. From their things get interesting. Joseph is the perfect host, arranging dinner every night, mingling, being pleasant, and by doing so. . . seeing the crap out of his brothers. But Joseph has Plans............... Fun abounds.

Awe I love the Guardians

I've read all the Kings of Guardians, the Shadow books, and the Defender books..each one is written so well that you walk away wanting more. I loved this book because it brought all of the families together. It was filled with lots of excitement, humor, and love. Your able to catch up with everyone and learn about their families. If I had one wish it would be a part of this family. Fantastic job as always Kris Michaels! Looking forward to your next one in January!

All together

All the Kings, Marshall’s and Gabriel’s crew are together and it is a great mix of humor, pranks, love and family with a dash of intrigue on the side. All the couples have some time alone and then the family together. I liked seeing how all the relationships have evolved and also learned new information about how long Frank has known Gabriel. Jewell found some new information at that left us with quite the cliffhanger for future books. Loved this story and seeing everyone enjoy their love and family!

Joseph in a tux

The image of Joseph in a tux was well worth the wait.
I absolutely love the Guardian series, as well as the peripheral books. But the best for me are the ones that have the entire group together.
Being fortunate enough to have both a large blood family, and a huge "by choice" clan I love the way the people meld into a harmonious, and often hilarious tribe.
Another well done for Kris. Very, very well done.

A great read and update from the kings and family.

Wow what an ending. I am so excited for John Smith's book. This was a great read and a catch up about all of the characters we love so far. Although I had a good laugh at Joseph getting his own back for all of the family getting him drunk and inviting themselves on a two week holiday. Although it was unfair to include Chad because he had nothing to do with it.

Another holiday visit with the Kings brings more shenanigans and more good news. In this episode, Joseph is the focus of the jokes and pranks. Jacob, as the youngest, deems it his duty to irritate Joseph whenever he can. Joseph is the best man at Maliki's and Poet's wedding and all the men get very drunk. Joseph finds that he has volunteered something inadvertently, and now has to accept it. He finds a way for payback and it's fun to watch.

PAYBACK IS NOT AS IT SEEMS

Two weeks of a much needed vacation is invaded by family, who deviously got themselves invited to share the vacation. Let the payback begin.
What a fun look at all the family and where they are at this point in their lives. So enjoyable to see all the family in a relaxed atmosphere not charged with intense action of the world they usually in habit. Highly recommend.

Promises Promises

I LOVE revisiting the Guardians amd catching up with the Kings. Each couple has a place in this story.so we get a check n with all of them and get a little glimpse of upcoming stories.

Of course like all the Guardian books I am left wanting more but the story is complete and it was a joy to catch up with the Kings of Guardian. Whatever it takes...as long as it takes.

At Maliki and Poet’s wedding, the boys add a little twist at the bachelor party plot to get reclusive, grumpy Joseph let the entire family join him and Ember on a private vacation over Christmas in Aruba. But they boys didn’t thinks so much about the payback they should’ve expected. Baby fever and convos hinting at Guardian’s future and OG’s chats about the golden days of Guardian are also highlights here.

Awesome

This entire series is a 10+. I've read the Guardian Defenders, the Shadow World also. The only way to absorb the complexity and the depth of this series is to understand without a group of this nature to protect innocents and people in general the world would be a much darker and evil place. We need many groups of this kind who value life and freedom... Whatever it takes for as long as it takes! Thank you Kris!

Family

What a GREAT story, Kris Michaels I loved the revenge plot in this book 1,000%. I'm also biting at the bit with the bread crumbs that have been left for next story. I love how you are always bringing the family together and having them grow. The love I feel in the words for this family just warms my heart. Thank you Kris Michaels for sharing you love of these characters with me I enjoy each and every one.

Promises

The whole gang heads for Aruba imposing on Joseph but Joseph plays his own practical joke. He sets them up to renew their vows but the trick is the guys have all got to get the gals rings. They get to the only jewelry store on the island the same time 3 cruise ships do and they have Chad with them. They manage to make it inside, purchase the rings without being mobbed. Everything is coming up roses.

Reading about this family being together is like attending a family reunion.

So many questions answered in this book. I was sitting here shaking my head, saying yes that makes sense now, or ok. I wondered how that came to be. I have 3 more.new ones to read but HAVE to re read this one first. I loved it.

Heartwarming running read

Kris hasn’t failed to give us a heartwarming and funny look into the lives of the Kings and extended family with hints for backstory yet to be written (hopefully) and a teaser for the next book. Definitely not a book for anyone who hasn’t read the Kings of Guardian books, but a wonderful treat for those who have.

Perfect Peak!

Promises is the perfect peak at all my favorite Guardians.

I love getting a glimpse at what my favorite characters are up to now, how their children are growing, and their hopes for the future.

The ending in true Kris Michaels fashion left me not only with the warm and fuzzy feeling but seriously intrigued. I can’t wait to get my hands on another Guardian!

This book is really just a novella with no real purpose. If you have not read all the series you will not get the inside jokes.
I also had a hard time remembering who was who as they flipped between names and nicknames.
Also it was just let’s give an update on who’s pregnant and who has kids already.
I love the series but was not into this book.
